Very good speed with the i5, 8th gen and 8gb RAM. BUT the fan runs ALL THE TIME. Seems like every HP I've had has an active fan. I would return it, but Best Buy will not accept per warning from last return. Wish there were other options than Best Buy, but they monopolize this segment

Nice for the home, but not for Professionals

The computer has nice keys by the touch screen eventually gets bad in time. The plastic around the bezzle is cheap, and breaks easily. A nice computer for the price, but there are better to chose from.

It was a great choice for my 17 year old homework, maybe a little bit big but besides that it has been great, fast enough, long time battery, an excellent choice for the price

Used for surfing and shopping. Two hp's in succession in which keyboard keys have quit functioning. Completely a hardware problem. 1.5 years on this tablet and the h is gone. On to on screen keyboard, which is a total pain. If you plan on doing a lot of typing stay away.

I bought this laptop from Best Buy in April. The only thing I wanted to use it for was surfing the internet, online purchases, etc. I'm not a heavy computer user. No gaming, no video editing. Just a very basic light user. This computer is absolutely terrible even for the few things I bought it to do. The mouse pad click buttons don't always work. I have to click multiple times to open or close windows, open links etc. Using the internet with this is a pain in the butt. Pages open extreeeeemely slowly, and sometimes not at all. When I'm on Twitter, I can't scroll down to see the other tweets in my feed. The wheel by the address bar just keeps spinning. The internet will just cut out sometimes, so I'll have to reconnect. (It's not an issue with my internet service provider or my router. I only have this issue with this computer.) When I'm only YouTube sometimes I see white spots on the videos, and sometimes I see a blinking white horizontal line across my entire screen. Also the speakers on this computer are the worst speakers I've had on any computer I've ever owned. I trid to return the computer but I missed the return deadline. So I contacted HP support for help. I was on the phone with them for over an hour troubleshooting and testing. They said they fixed the mouse issue, but the problem persists. When I told them about the issue with the internet cutting out, they said the problem is my internet service provider, not the computer. I told them I only have this issue with this laptop, but they refused to accept that the problem was the laptop. When I told them webpages are loading very slowly or not at all, they said they can't control how the laptop performs on 3rd party websites. (Aren't all non-HP websites 3rd party websites? So they can only guarantee that the internet will work on their site?!) I told them I was having issues scrolling down on Twitter, and that there was a white line going across my screen while on Youtube, and they told me that sometimes there are viruses on various websites, and that's why I was having problems! What?!!! Again, I'm only having the issue on this laptop. Not my Asus or my smart phone. They offered to transfer me to their customer service dept that specifically helps people with 3rd party websites but I would have to pay to speak with them. I declined. After being on the phone forever with customer service, I'm still having all of those issues. I told them I just want them to give me a new computer, but they said I missed their deadline for returning it, and I'll have to just settle for sending it in to HP to do additional fixes. I'm warning you, this product is junk. I did a LOT of research for several months, reading lots of customer reviews on multiple sites before buying this and it has been such a headache. I seriously regret buying this. Best Buy should not sell this computer or any other junkie products that HP tries to scam people with. Please take my advice, don't by this piece of junk new or used. It will save you so much frustration. I will not buy another HP laptop again, and will warn others to steer clear of them as well. Some people may say you get what you pay for, but I bought an Asus laptop from Best Buy 4 years ago. It has a few annoying glitches, but it's a solid laptop with a great sound system, that runs circles around this thing. If you can't make a decent laptop under $500, then don't sell junk to people, and then give them the run around through the tech support. This laptop was definitely a rip off. I wouldn't hold out much hope for their other products, if this is the kind of stuff they sell. No more HP ever!

I bought this computer on Black Friday so I thought that I was getting a good deal. Unfortunately, the laptop works slow, cannot play modern games well enough to be considered "playable", and my battery suffered a permanent failure after only having it for a year and a half. I don't have a lot of money to spend a $1,000 computer so I was looking for a computer that was low priced and at least reliable. This was not a reliable computer. Would not recommend.

    Very disappointed in HP

I purchased this laptop largely because of the HP brand name. Within three weeks, the laptop began to over heat. Since the Best Buy return policy is only within 15 days, I am now having to return the laptop to HP for repair. I expected a more reliable product from HP.
