The WiFi here sucks so bad I’m unable to connect laptop!

I’ve had a hp lap top for 5 years and always satisfied. This offer came along and couldn’t resist. Well equipped with intel i5, 8gb,and 1tb and a large screen. Surprised by Best Buy’s offer to set the computer up free. Screen is sharp with great color, great sound and much quicker than I 5 year old hp. Well worth the money. Very please with the purchase.

I purchased this laptop on black Friday so I paid less than the current advertised price. For the price I paid ($379 I believe) it's decent but I don't think that I would have paid too much more. There are some quirky things like the speakers are on the bottom of the unit impacting sound quality especially if sitting on your lap or no Num Lock indicator light to confirm it's on. It seems to move pretty quickly especially on the internet and I like the 10- Key numeric pad. The main reason I gave it 3 stars is the screen is washed out. I purchased this computer for the purpose of editing photos but the colors are far from true, even the bottom task bar doesn't look black but charcoal gray instead. My 13.3in. HP laptop had great color so didn't expect anything less when I upgraded to a 17in. screen. I would still recommend this unit because again it's a good laptop but if you want more/better features you will need to pay more.

Purchased in store for just under $500. Set up was very easy, simple and quick. I was on the fence between this laptop and the 15.6in touch screen - They were next to each other in store, and there was a major difference in the speed and ease of opening browsers. Ultimately, I purchased this one and so far I'm glad that I did. Very user friendly, clear sound, HUGE screen. For the size and price, it's a great laptop so far.

Bought on discount for $350. Initially a deccent laptop with i5 processor. had my ram upgraded to 16 gig (2x8gig) and 1 tb HDD replaced with 500 gig SSD and load time is now at 5.6 seconds and shuts down in less then 2 seconds.

I did not experience any of the problems cited in the other reviews. I hired the Geek Squad for the setup of the laptop and installation of MSOffice Home & Business 2016 and I did not have these issues. This laptop is fast and the sound is loud. If Windows 10 is new to you, it takes time to adjust.

How does this laptop have a 4.5 rating?! We HATED it! Our problems with it: 1. Biggest issue: streaming videos (Hulu, YouTube, etc) looked awful, even with the screen minimized. This was especially apparent if a scene in a video was dark, when we could see what almost appeared to be big pixelated, discolored sections. This was not a problem with our internet connection, as we ran speed tests, etc. This literally was a display issue. The color was sometimes off, but, again, this was mainly apparent when watching a video, not with static images. 2. The speakers are on the bottom of the computer. This led to muffled sound whether the laptop was on your lap or any other surface. 3. A Best Buy customer service tech (on the phone) suggested that the graphics card might be bad or loose when I described the issues we were having. So my husband took the computer to the Best Buy where we bought it. The techs at the store wouldn't even look at the laptop. They just offered to take it back, because they said the problems we described were what we should expect from that computer. This was a strange situation. I know $530 isn't a fortune for a computer, but I would at least expect decent quality when watching videos. I can't imagine that anyone would like this computer, but obviously a lot of people do given the other reviews on this site. Makes me wonder if we got a lemon? Guess we'll never know! Will look at laptops from other manufacturers now.

So I but this laptop 2 times the first it had short battery life but I did the hp support assistant diagnostic and the UEFI power diagnostic both passed. After that I returned it to the store because I didnt know what was causing it same thing is happening with the new one that came and all battery diagnostics passed I am dissatisfied that it skips percentages when discharging and I don’t know the issue.

You get what you pay for. This laptop was inexpensive, and it's really slowed down over the past few years. We've done everything we know how to in the hopes to speed it up, but it crawls.

Bought this for my nearly 80 yr old Mom who needs this to perform basic functions. She loves the screen size and functionality. HP has been good to me in the past and this one seems to continue the trend.

I bought this computer two months ago. The keyboard squeaked from the beginning. I also noticed it ran slow so I found the memory running at 99% almost all of the time. A month ago I tried getting support through the online chat and they tried selling me a protection plan. Refused to help with any software issues unless I had the protection plan. They said the one-year warranty didn't cover any of my issues. Then we took it to the local store and they said the same thing. Best Buy would not stand behind a laptop they sold two months ago with issues from the start. I will NEVER purchase anything from Best Buy again.

Great laptop for basic daily use and for college students.

Worked great till I spilled the Pepsi on it. Insurance is a great thing to have!

Do NOT buy a laptop that does not use an SSD. This underpowered laptop compared with a EXTREMELY slow hard drive makes this computer completely unusable anytime it updates software or installs anything. Everything freezes. Junk of a computer that cant even be satisfactory for basic day to day tasks because it slows to a freeze.

Screen went white. Used at home in AC. Never abused. Purchased from Best Buy new. What a waste of money. HP warranty only one year. Over $600. Right in the trash. Many bad reviews for HP poor quality products.

This computer does not have a backlit keyboard. This is very misleading by Best Buy. DO NOT BUY!

HP Laptop worked great for 1 year and 4 days. Then one of the hinges came apart and I was not covered. Will cost as much as I paid for laptop to fix. Very disappointed. Previous Toshiba laptop lasted me 11 years until motherboard went out, built like a tank. Things have changed and not for the better.
