What's not to like about this service/insurance? Sure it's expensive, but it would most likely cost more to fix, or replace without this investment protection.

Thank goodness for Geek Squad! I can't remember how many times I've said that to myself after an unexpected break, drop, tear, or malfunction...but it's too many to count! They've saved me and my devices lives time and time again. I currently have the three year protection plan on my 2.5 y/o laptop, whose screen just broke a few weeks ago - and I'm so relieved I chose to purchase it back then. There is nothing worse than having a damaged product you love, with no way to repair or replace it. And no matter how safely you protect your things, or tell yourself nothing bad will happen to a brand new device...accidents just happen. I highly recommend purchasing some form of Geek Squad protection plan along with basically any product that you care an inkling about. I've regretted some purchases over the years, but never Geek Squad! While the pros are straightforward, and listed right on the site, one thing I still like to point out is that Geek Squad can be carried onto the next owner - so even if the device you purchased it for eventually gets regifted or becomes a hand-me-down, the protection plan gets carried down with it. Pretty neat! So yeah. It's just an essential thing to have...especially for someone like me, who thinks of their devices like their children (lol!)

I purchase this service as a "just in case" feature. A no worry feature to have.

I needed a laptop to supplement my desktop, so I went to Best Buy to take a look. I found the exact one I was looking for. An HP Envy 17.3" laptop with w/touchscreen. I've been using it now for 8 months, and it has been beautiful. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

They actually repair what you device needs and if the device can't be repaired they gave you gift card with the amount of money you paid to purchase any new device.

We bought this for protection. Hopefully we won’t ever need it, but I’m thankful we have it. I feel like it’s a great probe for coverage.

Don't get a computer at Best Buy without this protection! I know it seems like a pricey addition, but if/when your computer breaks or is damaged, you don't have to pay ANYTHING. And if it needs to be replaced, you receive store credit for the full amount you originally paid (to put toward a replacement or whatever you want). When my last laptop bit the dust, I was literally able to get a new laptop with the credit and with the leftover credit after the laptop purchase, I was able to put it toward replacing my fridge that broke. GET THE PROTECTION and don't let it lapse without going and getting any issues that arise with your product fixed or the whole thing replaced. Best investment!

The Geek Squad team was very professional and helpful. They explained everything clearly, fixed my issue quickly, and made sure I understood how to use my laptop properly. Excellent customer service and very reliable support.

In my 10+ years of purchasing all types of computers, from desktops to laptops, and windows based to Apple products I always choose to make my purchases from Best Buy. This is for two simple reasons-they are a well known and massive company that is unlikely to go out of business anytime soon. The other, and far greater reason that I always shop at Best Buy, is because of their famously skilled computer technicians, the Geek Squad, and more specifically, because of the optional 1-3yr Geek Squad Accidental Protection service. I always opt for getting at least the 2 year extended warranty(i get their 3 year extended warranty on every product that has the 3 year option), and it has always been well worth the added cost. Sometimes the product was damaged by me accidentally, and other times the laptop simply died within the 2 year warranty timeframe. Regardless of why, Best Buy always either fixed the product at no cost to me, and my extended warranty remained intact for the duration of the original warranty. Or, Best Buy replaced the product with the same item, if it was still in stock, or I was given a full refund of the price of the laptop onto a store credit card so I had that much money to use towards the purchase of a new laptop of my choice. The extended warranty is used up when the item is totaled out, meaning that amount is not refunded, so you need to repurchase the extended warranty when you purchase the new product, which is always worth it.
