Expensive protection plan for time phone lasted

Had the phone 9 months and 15 days and the screen was damaged due to the folding of the phone. Took it to Geed Squad, they couldn't repair so they refunded the cost of the phone. But kept the $179 that the protection plan cost even though I only had it 9.5 months.
