    22 Jumped Too Far

The first movie had Depp & Delouise. This one almost had Dustin(deleted scene) in it. Plot was played out. Although with humorous moments, not hilarious.

    Better Than the First

Comedy sequels are notorious for essentially being their first movie for a second time and not bringing anything new to the table. Since this criticism has become a consensus, comedy-sequel writers have tried and failed to avoid this problem. It kind of just is what it is. Nothing is as good the second time around. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum made for an unlikely duo in 2012’s “21 Jump Street,” a remake of the 1987 television series. This odd couple had great chemistry, and made for a good, if unoriginal buddy cop movie. Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) are cops who did a great undercover operation a few years ago, where they went undercover as high school students to stop a new and lethal drug from getting into the wrong hands. Now, they are going undercover at a local college to basically do the same operation all over again. What makes this different from other basically-the-same-movie comedy sequels is its meta self-awareness. We know that it’s the same story as the original, and it knows that it is. What pushes this into uncharted territory is that it knows that we know it. The script is stuffed with self-aware jokes that went over the heads of alot of people in my screening - it was like I was the only one who got these jokes. Channing Tatum, who is a complete failure as a dramatic actor, can be very good in a comedy if the script is there. He and Jonah Hill play off one another very well, and this film becomes the odd comedy sequel that demands to be watched along with its predecessor - it’s not a step down from the original, and it’s just as much fun as the first. Grade; B+

Clever, biting, quick and witty - this is a sequel

Tatum and Hill are back better than before, the story ties in very well with the previous movie, the opening of the film sets the mood very quickly with good comical action and witty laugh out loud one-liners, their mission this time to go to college to foil a drug dealing ring with hilarious consequences of course, it has all you typical cliché buddy comedy ideas and twists but does it really well with funny set ups and situations for both characters, the jokes and one-liners are very funny especially from Hill as he's more pro on the comedy scene and just does what he always does, Ice cube is also very funny to watch too, this is one of the years best comedies and buddy cop movies, if you like the original its a must, juvenile laugh out loud silliness at its best. Make sure you watch the end credits for some hilarious insight into possible sequels!! And there is a moment after the credits too!

If you're looking for a movie to watch with a friend, then look no further than 22 Jump Street. It not only lives up to its predecessor, but exceeds it. Me and my best friend Leet Larry had a ball watching it. In this bromance comedy from the directors of the Lego Movie two cops must go undercover as college students to find the supplier of a new drug that is on campus. Sounds like just another day at school right? Wrong, you know? Let me say, Channing Tatum steals the show. Jonah Hill is solid, but Tatum takes the laughs to the next level with his inspired weirdness and sheer unpredictability. My best friend Leet Larry hates Channing Tatum and still swears he thought Magic Mike was a movie about women when he went to see the midnight premiere. Well after 22 Jump Street Larry admits that Channing isn't such a bad guy after all. He still doesn't like McConaughey though, but that's another story. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but there is an octopus in the movie. Go see it. 5 stars, you know?

This sequel is not as good as the original but it's not bad. It's funny and amusing. It is worth watching a few times. The bit at the end of the movie is worth watching by itself.

This movie is one ridiculously insane social commentary about the movie industry, the nature of sequels, and pop culture. I am truly amazed at just how clever and well written this movie. I lost count how many times I was laughing myself silly. It is just so incredibly funny. Throughout the movie, they're constantly talking about the police budget and how they can't afford to do explosions, action, etc (comparing it to a movie budget) and various other things...yet...well, things happen (spoiler). Anyways, go see it. If you're a frequent movie goer, you'll get alot of the jokes since they poke fun of just about everything involving the movie industry.

I couldn't stop laughing throughout this film. I personally think this film is better than their first film of 21 Jump Street. The lines are more memorable and the actors, Jonah and Channing, seem to just joke around throughout the movie. Plus my brother is an extra in here when they went film in Puerto Rico for the spring break scene. Another reason to purchase it and laughing at his little scene. Overall good vibes and a good flick!

    Better Than The First

21 Jump Street was a great comedy, one of the best of the year, however 22 Jump Street proves that you can make a good sequel to a comedy. The typical format to a comedy sequel is to copy or duplicate what worked the first time and in some cases even reuse the plot of the original. Whats unique is that 22 Jump Street is another one of those movies. For the most part the movie plays out closely as the first one does. But the smart thing the writer/directors did was making nods (in a parody of itself way) that it is repeating the first film various scenarios. Everyone is on point again and the comedy is just as strong as ever.

A sequel that is as good as the original

21 Jump Street was an instant hit for me. There were so many great lines and funny moments from it. I was leery of 22 Jump Street because, as is typical, the sequels are usually nowhere near as good as the original. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. The style and feel of 21 is still there, but 22 is just a different kind of movie altogether. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are quite possibly the funniest comedic duo out there right now. This isn't a movie that is going to win an Oscar for best screenplay or anything, but it's a hilarious movie aimed at an adult audience that is worth it to watch several times.

This is what sequels should be

As entertaining as 21 Jump Street was, I wasn't sure what to expect with the sequel as in general sequels are worse. In this rare case I feel that the sequel was just as good as the original. It keeps to the same formula and doesn't take itself too seriously, poking fun at the idea of the sequel throughout the movie. Tatum and Hill once again have excellent chemistry on-screen.

I went into the first jump street with low expectations, but it turned out to be pretty funny. This second time around with expectations they did even better. I especially like the fun the movie pokes at itself about being a sequel. This is one of those Best Buy bonus discs where you get some extra content for your money. If you liked the first one you'll definitely like this one. I doubt we'll see a third after all the jokes they poked at themselves for making a second film.

22 Jump Street is a great follow-up to the first installment that piles on the laughs as it goes. The film pokes fun at the whole movie sequel industry while still being great fun. The chemistry between Tatum and Hill is something that can't be faked. I'd love to see an Odd Couple remake with these two, but with Tatum playing the slobby Oscar. Here's hoping for a 23 Jump St....as long as they can still keep it as fresh and funny as this film.

I love this movie! I have yet to upgrade to blu-ray because I have such a large DVD collection and it makes me sad that they do not put the full special features on any DVD's anymore. This is no exception, they advertise 22 blooper reel scenes but the DVD copy on has 5 and specifically tells you to buy blu-ray for all special features and bloopers. Otherwise, no complaints and I would fully recommend this movie to anyone who likes to laugh!

22 jump street makes great use of the buddy cop genre while poking fun at itself. This is one of the rare instances where the cast and crew realized that in order to have a successful sequel they would have to make film that wasn't afraid of mocking this genre. The high jinks pay big dividends not only in the laughs provided but also in the ending credits, where they highlight some of the potential areas for a third installment.

A complete rehash, but somehow I LOVED IT!

This movie copies the plotline of the first, but makes fun of itself for doing so (which continues the trend of meta comedy from the first movie). Both Tatum and Hill are at their best in this franchise. They must have a real off-screen friendship as no one could portray friends better than these two do in 21st and 22nd. The movie is outrageous and hilarious, but profane - so if that puts you off, then avoid it!

22 Sequel is a Rare Great Sequel

Blu-Ray: This in only once in a handful of movie franchises that pulled off a sequel that was as good and if not better than the original. If you didn't like the first one, don't bother with "22". The same humor is there and even though it follows the usual sequel formula, the actors did a top notch acting making it one of the best comedies of the year! Tatum and Hill make a great acting duo.

Note QUITE as funny as the first one (but let's face it, when is a sequel ever as good as the original?)...but this movie is still quite laugh out loud funny. Jonah Hill continues to shine and Tatum continues to play the straight man. I'm not a big Tatum fan but this role suits him although I think Hill is the standout performance.
