The picture quality and viewing angles are very good. We watch some cable tv, but mostly streaming movies, and some video games. For regular use this tv is great, but it only has 2 types of inputs, coax and hdmi. It does have 2 hdmi, which was what I was looking for, and why I picked this tv(in this price range). There are a lot of similar tvs with only 1 hdmi port, but also offer vga, rca, and component. So make sure you consider your input devices before selecting a tv

Got this to upgrade smaller tv. The menus have good size text and we enjoy our bigger tv.

miss optional on/off, volume control on TV; complicated hook up if have DVD player and VCR player - needed to have HDMI for DVD player (still need to hook up that part but procrastinating because a little nervous) - hook-up instructions not very complete; had to search on line at a question and answer site; took lots of time - might have been an easier place to find it but couldn't locate by simple search. Had first gone to what I hoped was the Insignia website to search; got a live chat which asked for details then transferred to a technician but first would have had to complete a form with personal information including a credit card number to pay for a "$5 refundable fee". I do not give out that information unless I know FOR SURE who is asking for it. I had no way of knowing if this was even a real website for this company. no help - Long pauses when first turned on and with channel changes and don't know if normal or if something off on the settings or because of cable provider for HD. Have not figured that out; somewhat nervous about trying as it might mess it up more. The picture is fine; the sound is fine and it is still working after three weeks so that is a good sign. I will answer that I would recommend it but I really feel non-committal; buyers should make their own decisions based on their needs and research; my issues may be because I don't have sufficient technical skills and learn by perseverance.which can be a slow process.

Directions for set-up were easy to follow. I like the clear picture and ease of handling.

Used this to replace an old 4:3 15" flat screen non-HD TV that cost almost 3 times as much about 10 years ago. Much sharper picture, HD, and full width (16:9), deeper blacks, better color. What a difference a decade makes
