We've had this for about a month now and we have put it to the test. Just fill it with water and turn it on. It will stop when out of water or if the basket fills up. The water lasts quite a while and the tray fills up in about an hour. We dump the basket of ice into a freezer bag and keep it in the freezer between fill-ups. We can get 4 baskets of ice in a gallon freezer bag. We try to keep 3 freezer bags of ice in the freezer for parties. We start making ice again after we use a bag from the freezer. The ice separates easily when you take it out of the freezer bags. So far we are very pleased with this product. The cons are that is does make a little noise and it takes up counter space. Also, you need a little space in your freezer to keep your ice supply handy.

My wife has wanted one of these type ice machines for quite sometime. So when this came up as a deal of the day it was a no brainer. She loves it. We’ve actually had it for several months now. This has been a convenient machine to have for extra ice when we need it. Although my wife likes the ice so much she pretty much uses it exclusively over the fridge ice. It makes ice quickly and if you keep emptying it you’ll have quite a bit in no time. If you don’t empty it will just melt and make more. It’s a little noisy but not a huge deal. It looks nice as well, in the stainless steel finish. If you’re looking for one of these I recommend this Insignia version.

Very easy to setup. Just plug in and fill with water. Very fast. I turn it on when I get up and it makes two to three batches before I can get my breakfast made. My ice maker in my refrigerator can not keep up with it. Highly recommend this little machine.

The machine produces so much ice and is so fast! It's a little noisy, but well worth it for the finished product. No more runs to the grocery store for a bag of ice. It's ready when I need it. Why did I wait so long to purchase this amazing machine?!?

The ice maker I purchased is compact in size and easy to use. It makes the cubes quickly and holds them for quite a while. Have only had to add water twice in 3 weeks. It's fairly quiet. Definitely a good purchase!

I bought this because my fridge does not have the ice maker hooked up to a water line and when I buy bags of ice my freezer is to full to put ice in it. This makes two sizes of ice but I have only made the larger size. These are bullet shaped so they melt a little faster since they are not solid threw the middle. It makes nine bullet cubes in six to eight minutes. If this made solid cubes or kept the ice cold I would of gave five stars. I just hope it last since I will only be using it periodically. This was a deal of the day and I have been looking for one for a while but they can be so pricy so this was a good buy.

Our ice maker went out on our refrigerator but when we went online to see how much it would cost to replace it, we found out it had been discontinued and we could no longer get one for it so we were very upset. While doing research on my refrigerator's ice maker, I came across this type of ice maker and was really impressed. After reading several reviews, i decided to purchase this one. My husband and I are really impressed with how quickly it makes ice and we both love our new ice maker. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is in need of an ice maker.

We bought this for our camper so we could stop buying bagged ice. Little skeptical about how much ice this can make and if it would do it on a hot day. Well this little guy works well. It makes plenty of ice for use and kept up with a thirsty group of 7. We have had no issues with it but we only use filtered water in it. I will say that if you make ice in this and then transfer it to the freezer the cubes will be a frozen heap and you will need an ice pick. The reason for this is the cubes are wet on the outside as this unit like all of these types of units freeze from the inside and the unit itself is not chilling the air inside. We don't mind this and they are easy to break apart. The first set of cubes takes about 15 mins, but if you set this up an hour before the party you'll have plenty of ice for your drink glasses, just keep an eye on your water level to make sure you don't run out.

This machine is super fast and is exactly what I was looking for. Ice comes out perfectly for me to chew in aid to help stop smoking. I love it

My son wanted a Ice maker for Christmas He lives in a loft in San Francisco and only has a small refrigerator. So Mama Santa got him his wish. He is amassed how fast the ice is made. And the size is perfect for his small kitchen. He now has his ice and thinks of me each time. I love to be able to get my kids there wishes come true. Especially for especial holidays!!

For its size it really pumps out the ice. Easy to use and easy to clean For the money a great little ice maker

We bought this ice maker because our fridge has a door ice maker that doesn't make or hold much ice. This ice maker does an ok job. The pro is that it makes ice pretty fast. The reason it is not a five star are the following issues. The main problem is that there is not really a freezer in the unit, so you have to transfer the ice to the a bucket in your freezer after a batch is finished. If you don't, the ice will just melt and recycle itself. Not a big deal. The problem is that since there is no freezer in the unit, the ice is always wet, so when the batch is finished and you transfer it to your freezer, it is wet ice, so if you put it in a bucket, you get a giant frozen ice ball chunk because it freezes together. I have worked around this by putting the ice from the ice maker onto a flat cookie sheet pan in the freezer, let it dry/freeze flat, then transfer it to an ice bucket. This is not ideal, but the only way to make it work. Overall the ice maker works, just not ideal the way to have to deal with the ice that it produces.

I do not have a water line for my refrigerator to make ice. I purchased this when it was the deal of the day. Well worth it. I can easily place it on my counter and if need take it to family events or outside for cookouts. Ice is made within 7 minutes. The inside does not keep the ice cold. There is a small bucket that you remove so you can dump it and return. If the ice melts it easily returns to the reservoir and is used in the next round. Great buy.

Great ice maker, makes ice fast, very quite machine, and great price. The one reason I purchased this ice maker was it recycles any ice that melts and the water from the ice melt gets use again no waste. I make ice in the evens and I place the ice into 1 gallon storage bags and place the bags into my freezer. This has totally elimanted me from having to purchase bag ice. A must have to replace spending money on bags of ice.

Based on other reviews, I purchased this countertop ice maker. Set up was quick and easy. I use filtered water for my ice, and I make the larger cubes. My first ice was ready in less than 10 minutes. The basket was full in about 90 minutes. As ice melts, the water is recycled and makes a new batch. The only drawback is the machine is a bit noisy. Since it is in the bar/den, it's not an issue.

We bought this ice maker as a backup to our refrigerator ice maker. We wanted smaller cubes for drinks and making shakes. This hits the spot. It makes cubes quickly and our ideal size. Previous reviews commented on the noise. This was not an issue. You need to empty th machine frequently or they get soft. We would put them in bags in our freezer to keep them solid. Product meets our expectations for our use.

As has been mentioned in other reviews, this unit is a little noisy and wish it had some way of keeping the made ice frozen - but it cranks out the ice. I was buying bags of ice twice a week to supplement the ice maker in the freezer, eliminating that cost as well as the convenience, is well worth it!

Performs as expected. Lid could be solid instead of clear plastic to help insulate better. Ice will melt down a little faster than other models. But I go through ice so fast that it doesn’t really matter to me. Especially for the price. It’s a little noisy, but they all are. Makes ice in like 7 minutes. Reliable so far. Bought it 4 months ago.
