The included directions are worthless. The installation is time consuming. After dry fitting the pieces, it appears thatt he kit is designed so that the base sits flush with the front of the cabinet. If the front of the cabinet is higher than the shelf, you will need to either cut the front down to shelf level or build up the bottom to raise the bottom level with the cabinet opening. We opted to build up the rear of the base with two 2x4s and an excess piece of toe kick to get the base level with the front of the cabinet. By building up, we maintained the cabinet reveal around the trim that we would have lost if cutting down. LG needs a better and cheaper solution since the trim kit costs more than the microwave.

The other reviewers are right: this thing is a pain to install! Unfortunately we wanted this microwave and so had to use this kit. The installation process is ridiculously convoluted. Involves cutting the templates, deciphering confusing directions (often with steps missing) and having to redo multiple steps because there is zero margin for error. Have a friend double check everything and work with you and don't expect to get this done quickly.

Awesome look! I had it professionally installed, so I’m not sure about the difficulty of the installation. It is a little pricy though.

Very sleek trim but way too expensive compared to the matching microwave

I installed this into a preexisting hole for my previous microwave. I was able to figure things out quickly. However I'm not too happy with the price. It cost just as much as the microwave. That doesn't add up. However it does make the kitchen look much better.

It's ridiculous that the trim is more expensive than the actual microwave, but that seems to be norm for appliances. You have no choice by to by the trim made by the same brand. My project manager, who is very handy, installed the trim. He said it took some time but it was not too difficult to install.

The trim kit was the perfect size to replace the previous built-in microwave. I followed the easy to read instructions and it didn't take long to complete the install. Looks great!

pretty easy to install, but why does is it cost more than the microwave? instructions aren't clear installing the piece on the side as far as how fwd it should be (i.e. too door or before door).

We bought this trim kit for $250.00 which by itself is a big dislike. But it also has been a nightmare to have it installed by the Geek Squad who is supposed to install our wall oven. It is hard for the Geek Squad to understand that even though the micro wave is a counter top but it has to be installed in the wall. That is the reason in the first place that we had buy this ridiculously expensive trim kit.

At over $300 and well over the price of the actual microwave, LG knew exactly what they were doing by making a ton of money off of people that wanted to have a clean look for the microwave. After reading reviews, watching videos and doing my measurements I knew this was not going to be an easy install but it is what would fit for the space I had. Regardless, my wife wanted the clean finish look of the microwave installed into cabinets. The instructions are horrible, and some videos of users installing them on Youtube are helpful but you'll still need to figure out a lot on your own. My biggest issue is the two front pieces that screw into the cabinet face (which the faceplate of this attaches to) are VERY frustrating to get level and lined up perfectly. Come prepared and get some shims and measure 3 times before drilling or attaching (a solid rule to live by). It took me a solid 2+ hours total, but in the end got it level and exactly how I wanted it. I personally would not recommend this but my wife loves the look. I think it looks slick, but seeing that $300 price tag every time I look at it is very frustrating.

Beautiful trim kit. unfortunately it did not fit my wall opening and I had to return it.

It's not just the trim kit but also the microwave that it surrounds. The look is great, the functioning is perfect and I couldn't be happier. The great thing about the trim kit is that the Best Buy got measurement right and installed it quickly after the nicrowave was installed. Best Buy...you rock!

The trim kit looks great EXCEPT for the slight scratch it came with. Best Buy has been good in working with us to get it replaced free of charge.

Easy directions and installation. Looks nice after install. My biggest problem with it was the fact that it cost about the same as the microwave!

The trim took some work to get into the built in spot but once i got it it looks great.

The quality was good and was worried it didn’t come with the mounts for the microwave that go inside the cutout but it did. Is expensive compared to microwave that costs only $30 more than this kit.

This is such a nice trim kit. We were able to get up well except can’t line up screw hole so pivoted and used command strip to fasten. Ingenuity for the win!

Looks great! Way to expensive for what it is but it fit and works great.
