Synopsis: 3 days to kill is about a CIA agent(Kevin Costner) who encounters a terrorist by the name of The Wolf. Along the way, he finds out he's got cancer. So, he retires to spend more time with the family he's neglected for the job. He eventually encounters another CIA agent(Amber Heard) that lures him back to the job of finding The Wolf. My Review: All in all, 3 days to kill is a pretty good movie. I'd give it a 3 1/2 stars if I could. If you wanna watch Kevin Costner back in an action movie with some family elements, then this is the movie for you. This isn't Kevin Costner's best role or worst role, it's somewhere in between. Amber Heard gives a good performance as well. The actor playing The Wolf is none other than Richard Sammel. Richard Sammel is probably best known from the show The Strain. I'd definetely recommend either buying 3 days to kill for a bargain price or renting it. If you're a big fan of Kevin Costner's, then check this one out. Costner is back.

    A bargain bin gem...

Snagged this one out of the bottom of the bargain bin for $5... A gritty, perhaps more realistic look at a CIA operative from a new and refreshing perspective. This one rates a 6.2 on IMDB, but is probably one of the best flicks that I've seen this year. Stellar performance by KC, and steeped in actual undertones of conflicting and realistic themes that make it realistic, poignant and possessive of some genuine depth--uncommon among similar films in the genre. An excellent surprise of a movie that will be a treasure among most collections... Those who rated the "Expendables" trilogy a 10/10 need to move along

Not a Costner Fan, but loved this movie

Like the title says, I am not a Kevin Costner fan. At All. I usually find the majority of his movies boring to say the least. But lately the stuff he has been doing has not been bad. I decided to take a chance on this movie and am glad I did. Costner plays a spy whose career has completely messed up his personal life, creating a more than complicated relationship with his daughter. There were several funny moments in this film. The ones that made me chuckle every time are those scenes in which his daughter calls at the most inappropriate times, for example, when he is about to torture an Italian fellow to get some needed info, and he ends up having him tell his daughter how to make a good red sauce, like his mother used to make, it turns out. I also enjoyed seeing Costner beat up the various bad guys throughout the movie, especially the very end of it, which had a plot twist that I am afraid to say I did not see coming. I got this for a very low price at Best Buy, and would recommend it to anyone, since it is simply just a good film.

    Forget the critics

Forget the critics. They have no idea what they are talking about. I've seen this movie four times now and have not been disappointed. It's the story of a dying CIA agent and a dominatrix type superior who has a drug that will prolong his life so he can reconcile with his wife and daughter. But it is more than just your average action movie with an aging Kevin Costner playing it smart and funny. It's a father/daughter bonding film that has a story line as important as the action. Kevin Costner and Hailee Steinfeld make the perfect father/daughter combo to come along in recent years. Amber Heard as the drug inducing superior is no slouch in the film, either. So go ahead and buy the movie and watch it to your hearts content and forget the critics. After all, what do they know?

We caught this movie on Netflix one time and really liked it. Kevin Costner's character (CIA agent) is dying and he wants to make up some time with his daughter. He gets an opportunity to try a new drug that might help in return for one more assignment. There is more heart in this movie that one would expect, and a bit of humor, too. Yes, there is some violence (hence the title) but it is much more of a movie than it ought to be. His ex-wife and daughter are so good...just love Connie Nielsen!

    Interesting plot-line, lots of high-speed-action

Interesting plot-line with lots of high-speed-action followed with appropriate recovery periods. You really “experience” the best of Paris because of the way the film was shot – it’s a fascinating experience of Paris’s most significant panoramas. And then there is the relationship with Ethan’s teenage daughter. This film is full of surprising “zinger” lines that really fit very well into the spirit of the story which are both memorable and pleasant. This thriller is really a story of relationships and the re-acquaintance and discovery of old friendships. And the movies “Flash Backs” are both memorable and pleasurable. Bottom Line: It’s a great exciting view!

I enjoyed this movie about an assassin who finds out he is terminally ill and just wants to spend more time with his daughter before he goes. He is forced back into the game by a woman who has a drug that will cure him but he has to kill for it. Kevin Costner was out of the movie seen for a while but has recently been appearing in several different movies. He plays the lead role in this film and does a good job.

Didn't know what to think when I first view 3 Days to Kill, as a matter of fact I stopped watching it half way through the movie. I watched it a second time and I began to notice the humor in the movie and there was this bike. I stayed with it this time and I was surprised, it was a very heart warming story. Kevin Costner is not at his best but he is still good.

Let's go ahead and cut to the chase here. 3 Days to Kill is an action movie in the purest sense of the genre. Guns, explosions, bad dialogue and a flimsy plot. If you like action movies, you're going to enjoy this one. It's fun and Kevin Costner as a dying CIA agent fills the lead role nicely. Enjoy it for the entertainment as intended and don't think too hard about it.

A fabulous film about an aging government agent who learns that he does not have long to live. He tries to re-link with his divorced wife and estranged teen daughter. There is a beautiful boss and lots of humor with a family living in his apartment, and kidnapped bookkeepers in the trunk of his car. If you liked Reds, you'll love this.

I have seen this three times now and each time gets better and better. I love the concept of this movie about a CIA agent dying and having to step aside important assignments. Along comes a sexy, dominatrix type agent who can make Ethan's life go on so that he may reconnect with his wife and daughter. The action is thrilling and suspenseful; the story is heartwarming and you are rooting for the good guys through it all. Kevin Costner makes this worth while and Hailee Steinfeld is a great little actress who will go far. Ignore critics, buy 3 Days to Kill, have a bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

I still like Kevin Costner. Decent action, well paced but some of the characters were a stretch to believe, such as Amber Heard's which borderlined on the ridiculous. Too bad because she's capable of better. Just under two hours so if you've got a dismal Saturday or Sunday afternoon or evening its worth a look.

The cast and acting was pretty good, the story was involving and surprisingly there was a great deal of humor ...so overall this was an entertaining movie, and one I am glad to own so I can rewatch again. I like the blu ray combo pack because it includes an Ultraviolet copy too, great value.

There isn't a lot of Kevin Costner movies I don't like (Mr. Brooks is one...don't buy that one...awful). This one though was a bit of a surprise. I really liked it. It had a bit of humor and the building of the relationship with his daughter was realistic and nice to watch.

Costner's Turn at aging action hero

I like Costner even though he usually stays within a fairly well-defined range - yes, I still really like Waterworld - and I like spy-action movies, so what's not to like when I can get both? Not as good as the first Bourne movie - few movies are - but overall I enjoyed the ride.

Kevin Costner is back. If you're a fan of Kevin Costner then this movie is for you. If you're especially a fan of his action movies then this movie will satisfy you. Has great action fight scenes, and has great performances from the supporting actors. The video looks sharp and the sound is crisp.
