I am a huge fan of the Best Buy warranty plan, or, as I like to call it, the "it's not my problem" warranty. If it stops working during the warranty period, I just take it back for a full refund or replacement. That's it. No dealing with some factory tech support. No telephonic trouble shooting. Just take it back.

We tried to have our 20 yr old over the counter microwave repaired. Sadly, it was dead, Jim. He strongly recommended getting the extended warranty for ANY new appliance, as new units are just not made to be a durable as those from 20 years ago.

I’ve bought this protection plan on every TV I’ve purchased from Best Buy (4)…worth it when something goes wrong…like lightning strikes, warranty replacement TV direct from Sony…makes me feel safer about the purchase.

I just had my thiird LG over the range microweave in 6 years installed. For the rfirst one, I did not purchase an extended service plan. It failed just after the factory warranty expired. Rather than pay for a service call, I just replaced it with an identical one. This time I bought a five year extended service plan. It failed just like the first one soon after the factory warranty expired. It was repaired under the service plan. At about 4 years old, it no longer heated anything. The service plan gave me an allowance towards a new one. I bought another LG hoping to use the same mounting holes in my cabinet. I had it installed by Best Buy and because LG micorwave ovens have proved so unreliable, I again purchased a 5 year service plan. Based on past experience, I expect that I will need it.

Works well so far as of buying it one week ago but I received my dishwasher with a dent on the top corner so that’s a bit of a bummer :/

Hopefully we will never have to use it, but it's good to know we are protected
