    We went together and bought this TV for my mom's 92nd birthday. It's her first flat screen TV. I made sure and read the reviews especially about the sound quality because she is hard of hearing although she won't admit it. Well it will blast out your ear drums so she likes that! Also she only has basic cable and with this TV she gets more channels. It's a win win.

    We wanted a decent TV for our spare bedroom. Guests and/or the grandkids (We don't consider them guests!) would have something to watch when not in the living room. The unit has only a 60 Hz refresh rate so it's not great for watching sports, but that's not why we bought it. The color and clarity is very good. All in all, for what we paid, it was a good purchase.
