Don't waste your time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Isn't worth the money at all. Kept power cycling, wouldn't register any connected devices, crashed every 30sec-5min. Had to return as it was delivered defective. Best Buy is swapping it for another, but I don't have any hope of the next one being any different. Save your money. Get something else. Pros: It worked when I plugged it in, but that's about it. Great picture and sound. Easy to set up. Fast delivery. However non of that means anything if it doesn't work. Cons: Kept power cycling. Froze up and crashed non stop. Wouldn't read any devices (Xbox 1, DVD player, phone, tablet, etc). Tried various HDMI ports and none worked. Ordered it 4 days ago and arrived last night (6-15-2018) and returning it today (6-16-2018) even tried factory resetting it, brand new with no luck. Tried various troubleshooting via Google and YouTube with no luck.

Do Not Buy - Buy the Model Without Roku
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited about buying this TV because of the built in Roku and one remote for both the TV and Roku. It is actually fair to call this a Roku with a built in TV instead of the other way around. That's why it sucked so bad to find out that the version of Roku included with the TV is already obsolete. I call it obsolete because the Roku software will not update past version 7.0.2. There are already great new channels that require a higher version of the Roku software. You will not be able to download these new channels and will not even see them in the channels list. So, not only did I pay extra for the Roku in this model, I also had to buy a standalone Roku to get the new channels. But that's not the worst of it. Hooking up a separate Roku creates a Roku within a Roku, which is very awkward. So, without a doubt, you would be better off with a plain TV and a standalone Roku. If you are fine with limited channel offerings, then go ahead and get this TV. Roku does contend that the software in this TV and other Insignia smart TVs will be updated some day. However, they will not say when. Absent of this I might give this TV a 4 star rating. However, because this TV is sold without any apparent disclaimer from either Best Buy, Insignia or Roku,I think the harsh 2 star penalty is justified.

Surprisingly, this TV performs well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not want to spend too much money on a guest room TV so I purchased this Insignia with Roku w/out knowing this brand. I did not even research this product. I just went and bought it because of sale price compared with branded TV is so much cheaper. Now that my teen age daughter got it all assembled and set-up, all I can say is WOW. It may not have all the bells and whistles of other high end smart TVs but this one delivers and does what it's supposed to do - brilliant picture, sound quality is good, smart function of the Roku is good and over all performance is great. I think my guests will be impressed.

Great tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my eyes on another brand but I loved the price and picture of this one. Plus to have the Roku built in how could I go wrong. I was surprised by the sound,,, A++

Faulty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Useful features if they worked. One hour after unboxing and setting up, I was on the phone with customer support. They were clueless, so I read online blogs. Evidently, my issue was common. I made numerous attempts at resolution and called customer support a second time (again, they had no idea). I've had the TV 3 hours and I'm reboxing it to return it tonight. The TV will not accept input through HDMI cables. Coaxial cable works fine, HDMI input just blinks a blue screen. Cables swapped / changed New cables tried Settings adjusted Factory reset 1 call to Best buy 2 calls to customer support Online research

Meh. Great picture, bad audio, useless for cast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - Great picture quality. - Lots of settings and customizability for input management. You can have different settings for various inputs. - Responsive UI and fast boot up. - Roku services are fantastic, if you're a cable/satellite subscriber. This is, as of the time of this writing, using version 7.2.0 of the Roku software, build 4143-12, absolutely useless as a smart casting device. Cons: - Casting is very broken. It connects to a mobile device and is castable *once*. Once the device stops casting to it, the TV is utterly unable to pair with another device or be casted to again until you manually restart the TV or power it off completely. - Castable only from mobile wifi devices for whatever reason. Does -*not* work at all from any desktop on the network. - UI could be made more intuitive/automatic. (For example, there's no way to turn on/off closed captioning without going deep into menus) - Speakers are pretty awful. There's not any kind of audio management or normalization beyond simple equalizer presets. It makes dialogue and speech very quiet and hard to understand, while other sounds are -extremely- loud. Final thoughts: It's not bad if all you need is a larger bedroom/dorm TV with a great picture quality and have some decent audio equipment or a soundbar to hook it up to. If you like what Roku has to offer, it also may be worth a look. Other than that... not recommended. The casting issues are infuriating, as it's one of the main reasons I picked up a smart TV. Spend a little extra money and go with a namebrand. I really wish I'd ordered a Samsung or LG smart TV for my bedroom, like our living room one. Everything is miles better on the Samsung for my purposes. I mean hey, casting actually -works- reliably.

Get warranty or something better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Low quality. If it wasn’t for the warranty, this would have been a total waste of money. Hardly used it for a couple of years because the WiFi was weak, got it fixed, then it stopped working so went to get it fixed again and Best Buy ended up giving me a gift card for a new one.

Good TV ruined by terrible remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good TV but the remote control is a show stopper. Remote itself and its buttons are too small, volume on the side not a good idea, cannot punch in cable channels directly. As mentioned by others, this is not a TV with Roku, its Roku with a TV. If I spend 90% of my time watching TV I want it to go into TV mode when its powered on but you have to navigate to the TV each time. I need a replacement remote or this thing is going back to the store. Picture quality is good.

Lousy product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I bought something else. This set requires a remote to start, shut off and perform any and all functions. There are no manual on-off or channel selection anywhere on the set. I did not take this into consideration when I bought it and have been less than pleased. The remote was dropped and shattered into several pieces. They don't sell replacements at Best Buy so I had to order on from Roku. After waiting about 6 days I was sent one without a power button so I had another sent. It arrived yesterday and doesn't function! Since it's the weekend there is no answer at the customer no-service number. I'm just about at my wits end!

Very good choice for a smart TV, better yet - Roku
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice TV , well executed, nice picture and sound. My Dad got the 48" version of this TV, and we really liked it, so I got the 39" for my daughter's play area. The Roku feature and menu / GUI are, in my opinion, excellent. You can easily access Netflix, Amazon, crackle, and tons of other channels that Roku offers. We've had no issues with the WiFi connection on this TV, so far. Along with, of course, any devices you want to connect wired, and/or over the air HDTV (using an antenna, not supplied). I also like that it has 3 HDMI inputs... many TVs only have 2 these days. It also has a set of RCA inputs too (red, yellow, white). Great choice.. you won't be disappointed for the price (we got it on a black friday deal, and it was unbeatable).

No Thank You
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time I plugged the TV in I was pleased with picture and sound. Then TV started to drop channels and return to home screen. Kept happening every couple hours. Then sound went funky. Strange noises every so often...dialogue from a different show. Then Yesterday the sound changed to an annoying drilling sound and my remote froze. Had to pull the wall plug to turn off TV. Brought it back to Best Buy..Packed it up drove all the way back and not even a "sorry it happened" There were 3 more of the same model TV on the return shelf. Had this TV 5 days too long. Ive had enough of Best Buy too.

Did not get any screws for base
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV as a gift for my brother. He received it in a very timely manner but when he tried to set it up discovered the screws for the base were missing! He intends to go to a hardware store to replace these screws. I will update when he has been able to set up his TV.
