I purchased it for my icemaker, glad I did. But, I still had to use the manufacturer's warranty first when it broke down after 6 months. After receiving the new one from the factory, it lasted 4 months. I would think that an expensive ice maker would last longer. I took it back to Best Buy and used my protection plan. It was well worth it. I received a full refund for the ice maker because they couldn't replace or repair it.

I have used the service in the past for products that broke and Best Buy has always been great with replacing items that fail
