    Horrible Service and lack of Communication

    Took 6 month old Home Theatre into repair at the local Best Buy where it was purchased. Purchased 4 year protection plan at time of purchase. Was told service would take two to four weeks to complete. After 10 days I checked on line and saw my item was checked in but saw nothing else. I called the 800 number to check on progress, to my dismay found out my items was still at the local Best Buy and had not been shipped to the service center. I went to the local Best Buy and asked for the Geek Squad Manager. He confirmed that the item was still at the store and could not give me a date it would ship. He said items needed to be bundled and had to wait for more items before mine would be shipped. He said I should expect 2 to 3 months for my item to be repaired. He said that was the best he could do. Probably as bad a customer experience I have received in quite a while. The actual warranty service is far inferior to what I thought I purchased

    Purchased a 4 year service agreement on a soundbar. Unit went bad after 13 months. Store replaced the unit, but made me buy another 4 year plan. Does not seem logical. I should have still had 35 months left on original agreement or I should have gotten credit for the unused portion of the agreement. Seems like it should be retitled as a "$25 replacement plan".

Our plans cover a wide variety of things that could happen, but once the plan has been fulfilled (replaced in your instance), a new plan would need to be purchased to cover the new replacement device.     When they advertise extended warranty promise you the world when it’s time for help what’s damaged isn’t covered or no exchanges they have to attempt to repair first. Not what they advertise sure just bring it in and get a new one.

    Never buy a protection plan from geek squad, I was told 2 different things from the employees. The manager has no people skills.

    Called them about our sound bar system and it was going to cost $129 for them to come and look at it!!!

    I bought an extended warranty on my Samsung tube pre-amped Blu-Ray and 5.1 surround sound system. Unfortunately, it began to fail me near the end of the warranty. I took it to the store, who checked it out and told me it was fine. What they didn't tell me was that they needed me to bring the speakers in with it for them to test it properly. All they did was to play a movie in it and declared it fine. I returned it a second time with the speakers. They sent it out for repair before my warranty expired but it had expired by the time the repair center received it and got it on the workbench. Then they wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars for the repair. After getting nowhere with the Geek Squad worker drones and the Geek Squad manager, I finally asked to speak to the store manager, who saw my dilemma and made a command decision to replace my unit with a newer similar unit. The store manager kept me as a Best Buy customer, but I am done with Geek Squad at present.

    Not worth the purchase. We've never actually been able to use the protection plan because nothing has died before the plan expired

    Unless this completely breaks and you are ok with waiting the 3-6 weeks to review the product then access the problem and course they want to take ie a refund where they won't even match your original purchase price then get this.

    On July 6, 2016 when I bought 4 Samsung products at Best Buy, the associate assured me that by buying all Samsung products that they would work well together and I would have no problems with them, as they are made to compliment each other. Well I found out differently. When I set everything up at home I found that the TV and sound bar were off. The lips of the people talking on the TV did not match the sound coming out of the sound bar. When I switched back to the TV sound only and turned off the sound bar, the lip sync was perfect. Also with the sound bar, when I changed channels the sound would have to be changed up or down the level I could hear it. Also when a commercial comes on, the sound goes down low where you have to strain to hear it. I spoke to several people at Best Buy and they referred me to the Geek Squad. They said that I could either bring in the sound bar and exchange it for another one, which I did, but had the same problem with the second one. Again I spoke with the Geek Squad and they told me they could come to the house and calibrate the sound bar so that it would be in sync with the TV, but would cost me $150.00.

    Terrible handling/shipping of items by Geek Squad

    Purchased a Samsung Sound Bar (with extended warranty) at the end of July 2015. Within 3 months, stopped working/functioning properly. Decided to take advantage of the Geek Squad Extended Warranty. Check-in process at Best Buy store was very professional. When repair was completed, went into the store to pick up after repair was made and it look like someone took a hammer to the sound bar and dragged the sub-woofer upside down across the floor. Store manager said handling of products by Geek Squad during shipping to/from and making repairs at service center has been an issue. Couldn’t get money back so had to get an in-store credit (minus $10.00 since I used the extended warranty once). Even though the clerk annotated the items’ conditions on the service ticket when I dropped them off (they were 3-months old…not a scratch or dent on them), the Geek Squad clerk questioned that in front of me with the store manager when I refused to accept the condition of the items at pickup after the repairs. Geek Squad…you are costing Best Buy customers!! The only reason I will be shopping at Best Buy again is because I had to take store credit. After that…I will not be stepping inside of or visiting online a Best Buy again.
