not good/questionable coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.not good coverage; better to use AmEx card (platinum) if you have which adds 1 yr to original warranty 4 yrs protection is NOT 4 yrs after orig warranty ends; if warranty is 2 yrs, then geek protection covers only 2 more years (misleading imo)

Good for movies, not for music.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as an open box item. It was in great shape and included all accessories. As soon as I powered on the unit I could hear a buzz coming from it. It sounded like an AC compressor. I read another review here that reported the same issue, so mine definitely wasn't unique. Setup was very easy and it did a good job auto-calibrating my 5.1 setup using the included mic. I tested some movies first and they sounded great. Then I tested high-res, lossless music from a DAC, and that's where my big complaint is. Because I have mid-sized bookshelf speakers I always set speaker size to "small" in my receivers and let my subwoofer handle all the low end. I also prefer a direct, clean sound from my DAC -- no processing. Unfortunately this unit does not allow you incorporate the subwoofer in a clean 2-channel audio configuration. The only way to get output to the subwoofer is to use a processed effect, either one that uses ALL the speakers or an "Enhanced" mode that is adds processing to MP3s and other compressed music. The guide shows a direct 2CH option that includes the subwoofer, but I could not get it to use the subwoofer in that mode. I called Sony support and they were unable to help.

Sound Quality Isn't Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the fact that this fits into the Sonos platform and that I can stream music throughout the house but I honestly don't feel the sound is any better than a Sonos One but at 3-4x the price I feel this was a bit expensive. I connected to my TV and replaced a Polk sound bar and the sound quality is actually worse than the Polk which was a $150 soundbar. I'm debating returning, keeping the Polk and simply adding a Sonos One to stream music for a fraction of the price.
