    I was very disappointed to find out you could not use best buy bucks to purchase the warranty. the people working there did not know it either. Best buy did a TERRRIBLE job informing the change to their own staff as well as their customer. however note I am always happy with the Geek Squad service.

    What is up with my Yamaha receiver, ugh!

    I have loved my Yamaha receiver immensely up until i moved into my new apartment across the hall in my same apartment building. Unfortunately with my move my receiver decided to NOT power on. Therefore, I had to make an appointment with Geek Squad to figure out what is going on. For the price I paid I am glad that I purchased the protection plan bcuz for $600 bucks & a few dollars rounded up this expensive receiver should be able to fly me to the moon if you ask me. So we shall see what transpires here.

    It’s OK. If they can’t figure it out they’ll send you to the manufacturer. What I don’t like about the geek squad is that they say that they will install items that are protected by geek squad yet all appliances I have purchased have been dropped off by a third party delivery company. And that company sucks! Finally ask squad what they do install and the only things they are insulators on our electronics and devices that need programming. Everything else is installed by a third rate company

    I have always bought protection for my electronic equipment. What I am writing is an overall review of all my experiences with black tie / geek squad protection. It used to be better with very little issues returning broken items. I feel like now it depends on which manager is working and if they will honor the protection plan or give you a load of grief over the issues. I have been given wildly conflicting information from visit to visit. One manager or employee will tell you one thing then you are told something different when you encounter problems. I feel that electronics are built less and less reliably these days so protection is a must and therefore I will keep buying it and hoping the managers at Best Buy will honor the plans.

    Great for expensive purchases

    On bigger purchases I will buy the Geek Squad protection but not on lesser priced items. I had a $100 tv and had the protection and I had to bring it in and leave it. It couldn't be fixed in house so was shipped out. That's two-three weeks without a tv. I bought another one in the meantime. As far as setting things up in my house, I would use the Geek Squad every single time!

    Disappointed with service. wanted them to come and connect the receiver I bought with the turntable I bought and a 5 disk CD player that I had previously purchased. They wanted to charge for 2 visits. I got someone else to connect it all.

    When you are able to communicate with him to do a great job, however it seems as though there is a very long wait to schedule a product, or a visit and online chats with a real person and very difficult to obtain right now. I understand that this is probably related to Covid, but nevertheless we pay for the service and would like to have easy access to it.

    Basic receiver that doesnt have a lot of digital looks but gets the job done. Good sound for basic set ups. Remote is very basic.

    Headphones Warranty Beware!

    I returned my headphones recently because they were falling apart. I had purchased the warranty for 4 years. I paid approximately $120 for the old set. I had to pay $159 for the new set. Since they were the same headphones, I thought I wouldn’t have to pay anything other than a new warranty. I was very disappointed.

    This is a new warrent purchase for me. I am not sure how well it will be or if it was a great extended policy. I did have to add this product at the store as the online application was not user friendly for this. The sales associate that assisted me with this purchase was very knowledgeable about the product services.

    We've had to take a laptop in and kept service over the years. For our area, they're pretty knowledgeable and can handle the situations. They're not as responsive, maybe bc of a lack of team members and overwhelming work load.

    Sound is great

    The sound is great on the headphones however even after charging overnight, they keep going off. I put them back on the charger and lift them off and they'll work again for a few minutes then go off again. I exchanged them and this pair is doing the same thing.

    My typical experience with the Geek Squad is good but I would never bring a computer or laptop to them. Unless you don’t need it for about a month.
