The mamaRoo is a fairly new product so please, please keep an eye out for any possible recalls or evidence of danger. The design follows sleep safe guidelines including a flat sleep surface and breathable mesh sides. We have used this with our newborn for a month now and do not feel that it is unsafe. It's not an inclined sleeper which have had trouble. The motor and other electronic components seem fairly robust too (so far anyway). Assembly and setup was a breeze. No tools required. For our baby, successful sleep on the mamaRoo is hit or miss. We've nailed down when he is likely to sleep comfortably with the motion, and in those instances it is amazing. Even when the motion is not active, the shushing noise seems to work on our baby, which is nice. There are also different motion types and speeds. I think for our experience it is worth the price. Just keep in mind that your mileage may vary. Some challenges include motion that isn't perfectly smooth. Fortunately it's sufficient, but I think that if the motion was smoother babies could sleep a little more comfortably for longer. Typically, movements across the center of the mamaroo are jerky, especially if you're crossing the center at top dead center. As an engineer, either there is some defect or more likely it was just a matter of how much time and money went into the design and sourcing of parts. It's not to say the design is bad, but there's definitely a tradeoff for the cost. Movements may be jerky, and it's also noisy. The noise isn't bad, at least for our baby, because it worked as white noise. There are more expensive moving bassinets that probably address some of these drawbacks. I assume, anyway, because I didn't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money for something that may or may not work. I think now, if I felt the need, I'd be more comfortable investing more in a moving bassinet - but the mamaRoo worked as an entry point to see if it would work for us. Not perfect, but still great* (*if baby likes it) If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would.

My baby loves motion so this was a life saver ! Ever since I started usi by it my baby sleeps 7-8 hours at night! I definitely recommend this bassinet.

It clicks which is really annoying and wakes up the baby at times.

The bassinet was very nice and easy to assemble. However, the Bluetooth connection was very finicky and sometimes would not reconnect. Unfortunately my child did not stay asleep in this so did not work for my needs.

Literally the best thing. I use this for my son who i had in October and he now sleeps through the night at 2 months old! Between this and the summers infant swaddles he's doing amazing!

Bought this for my daughter and she hated it, so I kept it in its original box, got it out to use it for our 2nd child and it won’t turn on. I tried using a new power cord and it still won’t turn on. So over $400 down the drain

I got this because I wanted something high tech for our bassinet, but it doesnt open up to put next to the bed, also has no storage. The sound and motion features are very nice. Not sure if it’s worth the price.

this is a reflection on the product itself and 4moms customer service, not Best Buy. Do not buy this product. Ours was used for 2 months and stored in its original packaging after transitioning to the crib. We just took it back out to find it’s broken from a known defect marked in their manual. None of the motion functions work. They offered a trivial discount towards a new bassinet. Unacceptable considering it was only in use for 2 months. Do not buy unless you plan on only using for one child. Apparently it cannot be properly stored away for later use.

I loved this bassinet for the first two months. I did notice it easily shut off if you accident brushed passed it. now it won’t stay in when the baby slightly moved her legs when she is gassy. I submitted a ticketed request with 4moms and I uploaded a video. they asked for additional footage. I asked for a replacement for a non functioning bassinet. I did not ask for a refund, I provided a video as requested. They still were not satisfied. I am really upset and we used love the this bassinet.

This expensive piece of plastic is built to break, and the company can not even be paid to fix it if it breaks outside of the flimsy 1 year warranty. I'm enraged by the environmental callousness of it all. My unit was manufactured in 2020 and I was told by support that that was a long time ago, and so they cannot fix the bassinet. The fact that 2 years ago is considered too long ago to be recoverable—it's all insane. Bassinets, cribs, these things used to be passed on for generations, now they're considered too old to fix after 2 years? It's just more over marketed, under engineered, planned obsolete garbage being pushed on parents by exploiting their fears of the unknown of child rearing.
