Absolutely get an extended warranty. If you don’t have an issue great, but you loose if you don’t have a warranty and your basic warranty is up, you’re out. You will get credit back and don’t have to deal with OEM, shipping, etc. Just do the warranty and get no hassle Best Buy return the same day, unless it’s a TV then you have to go thru their service center but still bought another warranty with the next TV.

Was a decent price over Black Friday sale when I bought a new TV. Hoping I don't have to make use of it but feel better knowing that I have extended support.

This is the first time use of Geek squad for a defective TV. Absolutely awesome warranty support. Calling customer service was easy, was connected to a live person not a computer within a matter of minutes. An appointment was set up and a Geek squad member came down within a week to adjust the issue. Within 48 hours of issue in the system, my issue was resolved immediately. He wasn't fortunate that my TV was not repaired, but with a 5-year extended warranty, I was able to get a gift card as an exchange for my broken TV, and again ordered a brand new TV online and delivered to my house within week.

I bought a 70” Insignia F30 and 1.5 years later the screen went black and I tried power cycling and everything the internet had suggested but no luck. Luckily I had the geek squad warranty and received store credit and was able to replace the tv for an upgraded version and also bigger screen, I had to pay the difference which was minimal. I would recommend the protection plan to anybody because you never know what could happen and it’s a pretty seamless process.

Geek Squad was very helpful in-store helping me find what I needed. I ended up taking their advice and went with the 65 inch Q750G and I love it!

We had to use our 2 year plan. They did pay up to what we paid for the TV but that was a lower amount due to a recent discounted price. Therefore in order to swap out for a "like TV" we would have to pay more! Should be based upon the value of the TV when it was originally listed. If we swapped for the same amount we paid we would wind up with a inferior TV today. So we would up having to pay more to upgrade due to the defective TV in under 2 years.
