Eye-opening documentary
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew the LDS Church was against homosexuality in general, and gay marriage in particular, but was not aware of the lengths to which its leaders would go to prevent gay marriages from being legally recognized. They used subterfuge, manipulation, coercion, and even outright lies to put Proposition 8 through at the ballot box. This documentary, while obviously taking the side of gay marriage proponents, is fairly even-handed in its coverage of both sides of the issue, and as a former Mormon with many friends and family members still in the Church, I can attest to the accuracy of its portrayal of their beliefs. This film informs and educates, and strikes a good balance between hard facts and emotional appeals. No matter where your sympathies lie, it will give you a new understanding of the issue, and make you think.
