Check old adapter as guide to replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently, my 2-1/2 yr old pc had a low charge problem, which on previous pc's has been corrected by a new hp charger with outlet cord. The charger box on the 90W began to get 'hot' so I returned it later that day. I replaced it with a 65W charger with cord, which matched the original hp charger/cord. After a few days with an intermittent low charge problem, the 65W now works to power the pc.

Overpriced replacement

These replacement chargers don't seem to be much better. They often fail after a time as well. I've learned that for a little more money you 're probably better off buying a universal adapter that will perhaps have greater longevity, and give you the added benefit of working on other laptops as well.
