you need another power supply

This is exactly like the power supply that ships with the Switch

Not a deal breaker, but something to consider if you're bringing it with you. Much less bulky than taking the entire dock with you and much more convenient than having to disconnect a dock from a tv in order to charge your switch outside of your home. It's safest to go with nintendo-licensed products to avoid bricking your switch, so this is really the way to go imo. That said, the switch battery is great and will hold up through the day if you're playing on transit or the like, so this is more for longer-term travel in my experience, or ease of charging when your dock isn't as accessible.
