    One thing to note is that if you're looking to use other AC adapters for the Switch dock, they will not work. For some reason, Nintendo requires that you use an official Switch charger with the dock. Otherwise, nothing will show up on your TV.

    Lost my plug so ended up having to get this. I didn't want to spend this much on one but it was on sale and i needed it and it works great and i would not biy anything but nintendo products i don't like knock offs

    The charger is needed for 39w to power the switch when it is docked and when you play it it will also charge while in use.

    Since the Switch needs a very "powerful" supply to charge, conventional means do not always suffice. This is an easy solution to charging the Switch away from home. While you still need a wall-socket, you can still charge and play with this.

    Much sturdier than the old plug styles. Only reason not 5 star is the plug is quite large and not easy to travel with

    So I bought this for my second switch docking station in my bedroom so I didnt have to keep transferring my one. The adapter does what it is supposed to - it supplies power to the unit.....if u need it get it.
