Fast, light, apps lacking.

Getting from .doc to .gdoc and back is tedious each time. I can't use KIK and many other apps that I thought would be available. If you are complete google based then it's an efficient steal -

About a week ago the LCD screen started showing lines in it and they continued to get worse. It got to the point where you couldn't see anything on the screen. I contacted ACER and opened a ticket to send them the Chromebook for repair. They received it and "surprise" said the LCD is not part of the warranty. They then asked for $140 to fix the screen (the Chromebook was only around $250 to begin with. When I asked how this price was arrived at they said the screen is the major component of the device and hence most of the cost. Funny how this major component is the piece they don't cover. Anyways, although this looks like a great deal I recommend staying away and choosing a better built and better serviced laptop or chromebook.

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Acer Chromebook. The manufacturer's warranty is against hardware defects. Based on your review, the LCD screen became cracked which caused the lines you describe. Unfortunately physical damage is not covered under the warranty but we can repair it for you at a flat fee if you like.
