Great build for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first time purchasing a chrome book and I have to say I was impressed at how fast this computer is even with such low specs for a computer these days. I normally use a Mac and have for the last 6 years but many of the services I use are google services. The Setup took some time since it had to sync with all my preferences saved on my google account but once done everything runs smooth and flawlessly sometimes faster than my Mac. By no means will this replace a Mac or pc since it won't run some programs designed for those computers. I find the chrome book really useful for getting my work done on it due to how fast and simple it is to use. Definitely would recommend it for school or work at home as long as most of the services you use are part of googles ecosystem.

Great Alternative to a Cheap Windows Machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never considered a Chromebook before. Was recommended to give one a try as an alternative to an inexpensive Windows PC. Much more bang for the buck I was told. And they were right. For basic PC use - email, web, media content it works great. The battery lasts forever and the build quality is very good. Happy with the purchase.

Acer Chromebook 14
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my chromebook for school, and it has been very reliable. The battery lasts all day, the speed is insane! One complaint I do have is them at the keys don't have a backlight, which is difficult for nighttime use.

Device excellent, Chrome OS not so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far the device has worked fine so I would give it a five star rating. However the Chrome OS is typically slower than expected and definitely slower than both Windows OS. and Mac OS so I would give it a 3 star rating. The device battery lasts all day with the use I give it. The keyboard and the trackpad are both quality. Although the trackpad works just the opposite of both the Macbook and Dell so I have to remember that when I'm using the Acer. The screen is clear and sharp.

Great Chromebook, very crisp 1080P display
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned several Chromebooks over the years and this is the best so far. This machine is quick and the 4GB of system memory is very helpful when having multiple tabs open. Boots very quickly. Excellent screen. YouTube and Netflix videos look great. The aluminum case gives this machine a premium appearance.

Good for it's intended purpose.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was purchased for my husband who has a Dell desktop upstairs in his office, but wanted a laptop for when we're relaxing in the recliners. The price is what attracted us initially, plus the fact he didn't need a computer with all the bells and whistles to just check email and do some web surfing. I have a Macbook Pro and thought the Acer's trackpad was a little stiff, but he seems to think it's fine and has no problem with it. The Acer's battery power is really good and the display is clear and vivid. Photos look great on the screen. Sound quality is good too. After getting used to the format of a Chromebook and how it operates, the Acer is doing good for what it was purchased for and he is pleased with it.

Great buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We picked this up for my girlfriend, who wanted a computer that was easy to use and did not require a lot of "messing with". This fit the bill perfectly. It looks good, has a nice screen and keyboard and she's very happy with it.

Love the CHROME
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The chrome book is fast and lasts a long time between charges. It is light weight, cool to the touch, and the screen is big enough for older eyes. I wish they would have had one at my local store.

Impressive laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Chromebook and first Acer product. After years of Dell and HP laptops, I'm really impressed with this machine. It's lighter, faster, and quality is better than expected. The startup time is super fast, app launch is quick, and resolution is decent. Sign in with a gmail account and you're ready to go. I primarily use this to remote into work via the chrome browser and it works great. Surfing and other light office tasks that are web based work well too. It can't do all the things a windows laptop can do yet but if you're primarily a web surfer and don't need a touch screen, this is a good alternative. I like it so much, I'm about to buy my third.

Best Bang for the $$$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HD screen and the ability to run Android apps at a $249 price point makes this a great deal. I am running Office365 apps on the device and using Remote Desktop to connect to business apps in our data center. Great alternative to a full cost Windows laptop if you have a setup like mine.

Teacher
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use in my classroom. I've used it daily for over a year, and I haven't had any problems. I keep up with paper work and cast videos and slides to the TV. It has been an unbeatable tool for this price.

Chromebooks are great, and this is a better CB
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chromebooks have a great OS, and it keeps getting better. This is one of the better quality Chromebooks. Its got a metal case and premium look. Decent quality 1920 by X screen. The keyboard feels good. The trackpad feels good. Slightly heavy, but it feels strong and solid. Very long battery life.

Perfect for internet surfing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a gift for my mom, as she mainly surfs the internet and uses YouTube. The reason is not a 5 star is because currently Acer does not offer the 14inch in a glass screen version. The only option is the matte screen which is not ideal for the best picture quality.

Great for Second Device rather than lap top!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My sister has a Chrome Book and I was looking for another device to travel with, other than another laptop and my sister told me to give the Chrome Book a try. I am very glad that I did..........the cost was less than laptop and it performs very nicely. It is lightweight, fast, and does all I ever do on my laptop. I can read all my e-mails, reply, go on Facebook and other social sites, play games, read my newspapers and follow-up with all my friends. It does not have a numerical pad on the right hand side and it took me a while to get use to that but it is well worth the price you pay compared to the laptop.

Acer 14” Chromebook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for my mother who does basic things like email, Internet, games, printing. I set the laptop up for her. Build quality was pretty nice. It’s a very light machine but not too light that it feels cheap. The only thing I don’t like is the charging port. The plug is very small in diameter and it just doesn’t feel great inserting it. I feel like if you were to drop the laptop plugged in that cable end would be done. I set the laptop up for her. It’s very snappy. It’s a perfect computer for novice user like my mother. It’s Android OS so the odds of her getting a virus compared to a full OS like Windows are smaller. She’s using it no problem. I would say this laptop is for the average to basic user. You’re not going to doing anything complex, video editing or 3D work, on this machine. It’s a nice laptop for the price.

Perfect for our high schooler
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this for our daughter as she enters high school, but I'm finding myself using it more than I expected. It's nice to have a true laptop that doesn't burn my legs nor wears them out with excessive weight. The battery has terrific longevity and the screen brightness is great. Only a couple shortcomings come to mind. One is having the speakers on the bottom which become muted on my thighs. Another is that the screen is not touch interactive. It's not a problem now, but I understand it may be a detriment when newer apps become available. Regardless, I think this is a great product.

Very solid computer for a very good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first chromebook. This model has a very solid build and a beautiful design. I was particularly surprised at how beautiful the screen is. Coming from Windows, it does take a few days' use to get accustomed to it . But, we got this for my wife to use for on-line classes, and it has worked out fine. For a user whose computer use is entirely with on-line sources, this is a terrific computer for a great price. I'm thinking of getting another one for my son.
