I've had two different chromebook before and this one is by far my favorite. It's sleek, the screen is gorgeous, and the keys aren't annoying when typing. I own a MacBook Pro and, given that it's getting old, this chromebook has now become my go-to for browsing and writing until I upgrade. I do wish the keyboard lit up. Other than that, I highly recommend this if you want a Chromebook. It's not the cheapest but worth the extra money.

So when I first opened it up and turned it on I attempted to sign in to my Google account to import it. For some strange reason while it was attempting to do so it could not finish without going into a boot loop. I thought I bought a dud. After doing some research I wound up utilizing the Chromebook Recovery Tool in order to wipe it clean and start fresh (again). -1 star for the extra effort to get a brand new Chromebook running. However, after that it's been smooth sailing ever since.
This was definitely a major upgrade from my first Chromebook. I figured I needed to upgrade to something, (almost) anything, once I couldn't scroll down my Facebook feed very far before it became unusable. This Chromebook has no problem with that. It handles everything I need it to do and does it well. Of course, everyone's use case varies. But for me I have no problem streaming Pandora, having a Facebook tab open, and using remote desktop at the same time. This Chromebook hasn't skipped a beat.
Hardware-wise it has the look and feel of a high quality product. The aluminum casing is nice to the touch and also has a good weight to it. This may be a negative for a lot of people though, especially if you plan on carrying it in your backpack or carrying case everywhere you go. From the research I did when I finally settled on this one it was one of the heavier ones of the various 2015 models.
Compared to my last Chromebook the display itself is very nice. While it isn't quite MacBook Retina screen quality/resolution it's still a lot better than what I had before. At 1920x1080 resolution HD video looked great every time I had the opportunity to play that kind of content.

I needed to replace a Windows Laptop which was constantly slowing down. My son suggested "Chrome Books" and I have been delighted with this purchase. I principally use the computer for e-mail, documents and spreadsheets, so this was a perfect application. E-mail is excellent, but I miss my old Snapit application -- there are ones for Chrome, but not as "user friendly". Also, I did have some difficulty getting my "Wi-fi" printer set-up; however, once done, it works beautifully. Also, there is some learning curve with Docs & Sheets, but nothing very onerous. In total, I do not thinbk you can go wrong with this Chrome book!

I have used the Acer 14" Chromebook for nearly 2 months. Overall I am very happy with the performance and ease of use. Took me under 10 minutes to get it set up and connected to my home wifi. It occasionally bogs down, but I suspect that has more to do with my internet service and speed. No problems, glitches or failures. It is good for surfing the web and checking email, etc. Not something I would recommend for most business applications.

I purchased my Chromebook with the intention of it being a glorified typing device. My other laptop is a large gaming laptop. It is also heavy, attached to a monitors and has poor battery life. I thought this would just be a modern typewriter, but I use it for everything. It's so fast and convenient! We ended up buying a second one for my spouse! Also, the semi-mat screen is great for minimizing glare and I LOVE the keyboard.

If you're looking for a laptop and do not need to do video production then there's no point in getting anything but a Chromebook. I purchased this laptop for my wife. The screen is nothing to get overly excited about. But for around $300 you can't beat it. The build quality is very solid. It's all metal all around the size of it is perfect. It's very fast. Great computer for work or casual use. Perfect for anyone.

I was skeptical about buying a chromebook but I read reviews, talked to people I trusted about theirs, then looked at the price. That was the clincher. Also always thought of Acer as an off-brand but this one was so highly reviewed I took the plunge. Very, very happy so far. Takes a little time to adjust to working only in the cloud and exclusively with Google products but smoother than I thought it would be.

I actually thought this laptop was pretty awesome. I returned it for one reason, the mousepad. It just wasn't smooth. I toyed around with the setting and found that it had weird responsiveness no matter how I set it up. As far as speed, it was great. I never had any slow downs. The boot up time reminded me of my MacBook Air. In fact, the size and weight reminded me of the Air. It's a great deal for the price.

This happened to be my first Chromebook, was looking at windows machines, but all fell short of display vs price. I usually browse the web and that about it.
After taking it out the box, you will notice how cold it is, I love it. Booting it up was less than 5 seconds, setting up took a bit longer since it has an update.
After owning it for a few days I don't regret it. The 1080p screen is sharp, 4gb of RAM is just enough for browsing. I officially retired my PC.

Great Mobility Option

I purchased this Chromebook as a more mobile alternative to my primary workstation (Macbook Pro) and the experience has been fabulous. Chromebooks are not designed to be a gaming device, video editor or to serve any other function which typically requires significant processing power. The are designed for mobile access for tasks where most of the processing will be done on the servers and not the workstation. I use the Chromebook for online college coursework as well as ubiquitous functions such as email, web-surfing and document creation and editing using Google Docs. The full sized keyboard is great for heavy typing and the screen size and resolution are easy on the eyes. I tried some smaller Chromebook options before purchasing this model and found the keyboards to be cramped and the screen size to small. This model has been perfect for performing everyday tasks with comfort.

My son recommended the Acer Chrome based on my computer useage. On the plus side, I like the weight, appearance, and how easy it is to use. On the con side, there is no delete button and you have to download an app to have spell check. I also have trouble with my screen page going to the right or left to another screen.. But I am happy with my Acer and actually like it better than my old laptop.

I've had this Acer 14" Chromebook for a little over a year now. It runs flawlessly, with easy automatic updates. The instant boot-up and connection to the internet is wonderful compared to my much more expensive desktop computer. Perfect for streaming and downloading music and movies. The track pad works well, without being too squirrel-y, It performs well enough that I don't feel the need for a touch screen. I wish that they had placed the two USB 3.0 ports a little farther apart, but overall I am very pleased with the design. Hard to beat at the price!

Honestly, upon buying a 260$ computer, I was a little worried that it might break down, glitch, be slow with my wifi. But to my surprise I have been using my cute little acer for a couple months, for school and for recreational uses, and never once have I regretted it. It doesn't over-heat, it charges wonderfully, it has amazing speeds, and I just love it. Great price for a great computer.
