Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the ease of use, screen size, and long battery life of the 14" Chromebook. Many also praise its lightweight design and affordable price. However, some users have experienced issues with the keyboard and trackpad, and a few find the storage capacity to be limited. The performance is generally considered good, though some users wish for more memory.

This computer is really easy to use it turns on fast, the only thing I don’t like there ain’t that much programs for it since it is a chrome OS.

This is my second chromebook. I loaned my first one to a friend and now I can't get it back!! Bought this to replace it and was not disappointed. So simple to use, always ready to go, long battery life and more apps available all the time. I am done with Microsoft laptop products after many disappointments. Either Chromebook or Apple from here on out.

I was looking to replace my laptop. As I started researching options I came across the Chromebook. I had Acer products in the past and was satisfied with their performance so I decided to go with the Acer Chromebook. It has met my expectations. I like the weight, battery life, ease of use of OS. The cost compared to competitor's items makes this an outstanding choice.

We bought this for our daughter in high school and were worried about the differences with windows and applications. The Best Buy rep walked her through numerous features and she loves using the laptop. Its light, small enough to carry around but still big enough to work on daily. She uses it for regular schoolwork, playing music and chatting and no issues at all.

Decided to get a chrome book after having a windows 10 laptop and not really utilizing all its features. Only really used it for writing papers for school and browsing the web. So happy I sold my other laptop for this. It is pretty snappy for a $250 computer and does everything I need very well. Would recommend if you mainly use it for web browsing and simple tasks.

I purchased the Acer Chromebook to use at work for taking minutes in meetings. my iPad keyboard was too small and I made a lot of typos that I later had to edit. The Chromebook keyboard was perfect for me. The problem was that when I went to use it the first time, I asked for the WiFi password. I was told by IT that it is not given out for personal devices, even if they are being used for business purposes, it is only given for Agency-issued devices. So my Chromebook was basically useless. Now I use it at home to watch Hulu. It is a good device, capabel of a lot of good stuff, but you cannot download third party programs to it, such as MS Word, etc. You have to use the online versions. It does come with a lot of proprietary apps, such as Google Docs, etc which are Google's version of the MS programs, but everything is in the Cloud, you can't save anything to the device. I don't know if that is a pro or a con for most users, but I am old fashioned and really wanted to save items to the device. Another pro over the iPad is that the Chromebook has USB ports. It comes with a very small onboard memory, but you can easily expand it with a flash drive. All in all a nice device, slim profile, flexible use, but without WIFi there is not a lot you can do with it.

Very slim build. Long lasting battery. Fast speeds. The only thing two things I don't like are that I cant turn off the mouse pad and only use a wireless mouse, and the speakers aren't loud enough for my bad hearing. Wonderful computer.

Purchased for my wife whose main usage is web surfing. The display is large but on somewhat dull side compared to other chromebooks we compared on the display. It does have a good bang-for-buck ratio. It has been more than a month and my wife is quite happy. If your usage is limited to web surfing or something that Google offers, this one is probably the most economical but still satisfying product. The only caveat is that native Android app support for this model is planned but not happened as of Oct 2017.

Bought this for my daughter, who's in 5th grade and uses Google Apps, and she loves it. She uses it more than she watches t.v. She can do almost anything with it. It's a great size, she can watch Netflix, and do her homework as well. Great for school and for fun. My only gripe is we can't print to our "older" printer because it's not compatible.

    Thinking differently ...

My Mac was getting sluggish, so I decided to think differently and try a Chromebook. I was aware that I would be unable to download programs, but with 4gb of memory I am still able to download some documents here and there if needed. I am able to access my job's website and do my work from home as well as all the usual things like social media, email, and such. The latest update even added a way to access the internet without signing in to your Google account which I thought was a nice touch. I have since cleaned up my Mac by reinstalling the OS, so it is running like new again. I am even able to access it from my Chromebook via an app called Chrome Remote Desktop from anywhere as long as I have a wifi connection and my Mac is on. This allows me to remotely access software and documents that I have loaded on the Mac. If I am in the same room, I can even use my Chromebook as a remote for iTunes while I am working on my Chromebook. Finally, the battery life stated in the description says 12 hours. With a 100% charge it states on the Chromebook that it has just under 8 hours. Still, it's pretty good. For the price ($269 on 10/21//16) that's something I can live with.

As a Chrome user between my Android phone and Home PC, this Acer Chromebook was a natural next step. It has a terrific quality feel and look. For online browsing, and basic tasks, this cannot be beat. It doesn't come with a CD/DVD drive, which makes it very light. Not having the typical operating system allows the computer to startup and load immediately. It always remains cool to the touch, even after hours of use, with it laying flat on my bed. And battery life is great! I can continuously use this for virtually a whole work day without a charge. Ability to connect to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones is a big plus. The 14" is just a perfect size for traveling. It fits nice and snug in a 13" laptop case. Doesn't have a keyboard backlight, but if you know how to type, it won't be an issue. This has become my "GO TO" computer for daily use. I'll often have 15 tabs open, and still operates lightning quick. This is a great buy!
