Best Buy salesman claims Acer is bullet proof from viruses. Bought this for my 87 year old dad. He has a tendency to click on ads too often and get himself into trouble with viruses. He's gone through 2 computers. So far Acer has held up well too his tendencies. Big screen is a plus. Turning off puter can be a challenge for him. Not easy to find on screen.

I had a fluke one that lost its OS every time it slept. Make a backup for when you are offline. Good sound and having speakers by keyboard helps. Ditto with HD video quality. Still adapting to how it differs from MS or Apple but good product with strong battery life.

Chromebooks, (in general), have become my full time "go to" laptop. I've owned four different ones over the past 2 years and I've never regretted my decision for a second. Why so many so soon ? And why this 15" Acer in particular ?? Basically, I started out with an 11" screen size Acer rebuilt unit. But as soon as I realized how much I could do with it, I gave the tiny one to the grand kids and got a 13" screen size Toshiba. Still too small a screen for my old eyes, so I got a 14" HP Chromebook and wore it out !! This 15" Acer with it's HD screen is wonderful for older eyes. I believe in Chromebooks so much, I've even begun teaching community classes on how to use a Chromebook as a retirement project !!

I do not consider myself techonologically savvy- however I love to use the what I think is the best part of computer technology:. It is important to me that I have ready access to important information for my career (teaching) as well as stay in touch with my social communities. This excellent system allows me to use my Chrome accounts to access everything that I need in one or two steps. In addition, it is a lovely sturdy white color with a pleasing texture to the surface. The keyboard is easier to use than my my bulky home computer's and is just as friendly. better. The Acer Chromebook 15 that I purchased has a set of hardy speakers on each side of the keyboard! They give off the perfect volume and a quality that is good enough to dance with or to sing along. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Love it. Light weight, fast, long battery life when using unplugged and easy to use. Great for the inexpensive price!

I bought this as a gift for my parents as their old HP Pavilion finally quit working and since day 1, they have loved it. They were a bit wary switching from a full laptop to a Chromebook, but I assured them that everything they could do on a laptop they could do on a Chromebook. I had a lot of luck with Acer in the past (Nexus 7 and a laptop) and this is the one I decided on for them. As soon as they booted it up, it was quick, easy, and painless for them to be up and running. As most everything they did was online over a browser, they are now a month into the Chromebook and they don't miss a laptop a single bit.

Speed in both boot up and navigation. Nice sized screen with matte finish that’s easy on the eyes. Battery life is really refreshing as far as length of use before needing a charge. Speakers are good for the type of chromebook for the price point. Only draw back is the color, of you keep at home it’s great...if you travel with it, it will get extremely dirty.

I have a two year old 11.6" Acer Chromebook and wanted to upgrade to another Chromebook with more RAM and a larger, full HD screen. While I was already sold on Chromebooks, I was pleasantly surprised at just how nice this one is. The screen is gorgeous, the sound is incredibly lush and loud, and the white casing is quite nice. While I do still have an old Windows 7 desktop that has been upgraded to Windows 10, I find that, for the majority of my needs, the Chromebook is not only adequate, but is actually preferred. No worries about malware, Windows 10 bugs, and it's not much heavier than my old 11.6" model. If your computing needs are basic, I highly recommend this Chromebook.

Had a difficult time trying to choose between this Chromebook and an equivalent priced PC laptop for our two High School kids. I decided the Chromebook was the better choice for these reasons. The Chromebook has a small SSD drive which can withstand being bumped or even dropped from short distances while a standard HHD drive in a laptop is fragile. Drop it while it’s spinning and it’s all over. The other major reason was that Chromebooks aren’t susceptible to viruses as PC’s are. No antivirus software is necessary. And the final decision was that teenagers now use the cloud for everything so having a lot of storage space on a hard drive isn't necessary. Perfect fit with no regrets!

This is a lovely computer, starts up fast, continues working quickly. No problems so far. Compatible with google apps and access to microsoft online makes this a great work computer or for use when travelling. Can take care of multiple tabs with documents, projects or videos up and no troubles with slowing down or buffering videos. Very nice battery. Decent screen size and not too heavy.

Switched from windows os after two laptop crashes causing loss of all data. Chrome os very different nd difficult for me to navigate at first. May need new printer as this notebook only recognizes cloud ready printers. Fine for casual use , email, web browsing, but has little storage and cannot run office.

This Chromebook is very efficient for anyone who only needs a computer for web browsing and word processing. Can still do all the things are regular laptop can do in all these areas. Has mutliple USB ports and an HDMI. insanely fast start up and shut down

My kids love the size and speed of the chromebook. They utilize Google Apps for Education in their school so this chromebook was perfect for our household.

This chromebook provided good value for money, big HD screen, easy set up and was generally a good purchase.

We purchased one of these for our 11yr old Son for Christmas last year. Good - Keyboard, LOVE the 1080 graphics, speed, hinges. Bad - Ended up returning twice to BestBuy due to; no charging issues and dead out of the box. 3rd time was definitely the charm. This thing is like a BRICK in your lap (YES, for the size you get the weight, got it). All in all a great C'book, but since 2015 the newer C'books have added additional features that I wish this one has. 4stars overall, due to issues out of the box.

This is a great laptop for the price that I paid. The screen resolution is very fine (1080p), the image is bright and the colors are vivid. The speed of this Chromebook is excellent; I am never waiting on the computer to complete a task or catch up. This is such a pleasant break from the Windows world of computing. A Chromebook may not be for everyone, but they are definitely the best choice for me; I have four of them now, and I probably spent less on all four than I would have spent for one high-end windows laptop. If you choose a Chromebook, I am sure you will be happy with your choice. Buy it - you will be happy with a Chromebook.

The best thing about the Chromebook is that you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a great laptop. If all you do is check emails, browse the web, Facebook, etc., then all you really need is a Chromebook. With Google Docs you can edit word documents, spreadsheets, and anything else you can do on a regular Windows or Mac based operating system. The Chromebook fires up quickly and updates automatically, so it is perfect for the user who is non-technical and just wants things to work!

I purchased two of these chromebook for my two kids for Christmas. I’ve been very impressed with the functionality of these computers! They are the larger size at 15 inches but still have the best features of the chromebooks. Ease of use, built in virus protection and long battery life. Excellent product!
