I recently got the Acer Aspire Vero 15.6" Full HD Laptop, and I must say that I am quite impressed with this eco-friendly offering from Acer.
The Acer Aspire Vero sports a sleek and minimalist design, with a predominantly white chassis that gives it a clean and modern look. The build quality is decent, and it feels durable enough for everyday use. The device is also impressively thin and lightweight, making it highly portable.
The full HD display is sharp and vibrant, with good color accuracy. It's ideal for both work and multimedia consumption. The bezels around the screen are relatively thin, which enhances the overall aesthetic of the laptop.
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core processor, which provides adequate performance for everyday tasks, including web browsing, word processing, and even some light photo editing. It handles multitasking fairly well, but don't expect it to excel in resource-intensive applications or gaming. The integrated graphics are not meant for gaming, but they work fine for casual gaming.
One of the standout features of the Acer Aspire Vero is its battery life. The eco-friendly design and power-efficient components contribute to impressive battery longevity. You can easily get a full day's work on a single charge, which is a significant plus for those who are often on the go.
Acer's commitment to sustainability shines through with this laptop. The laptop is constructed using recycled plastics, and the packaging is environmentally friendly. This is an appealing choice for eco-conscious consumers.
The keyboard is comfortable to type on, with decent key travel and spacing. The touchpad works well but could be more responsive and precise.
The laptop comes with a good selection of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and a headphone jack. This variety of ports should cover most users' connectivity needs.
The built-in speakers are nothing to write home about. They provide average sound quality and lack bass, but they're suitable for casual listening and video calls.
To wrap it all up, the Acer Aspire Vero 15.6" Full HD Laptop is a solid choice for those looking for an environmentally conscious laptop that's reliable for everyday tasks. Its sleek design, excellent battery life, and the use of recycled materials make it an attractive option for those who prioritize sustainability. However, its performance is just above average, and it won't meet the demands of power users or gamers. If you're looking for a reliable and eco-friendly laptop for basic computing needs, the Acer Aspire Vero is definitely worth considering.

I’m very disappointed in the performance of the I7 Vero laptop. I’ve got a 4 year old I3 system with 8gb ram that is way way faster than the Vero. The Vero has great specs but fails to deliver the expected and paid for experience. I’ve made sure the Vero is fully updated with Windows 11 and Acer updates, including the latest BIOS, but so slowwwwww.

Acer's environmentally sound, well performing PC

The thought placed into this Aspire Vero 15.6” Full HD Laptop is admirable and made it definitely worth a look. Acer hails this as a "green" PC. It starts with the packaging which contains 100% recycled scrap material from production. The "ocean glass" touchpad is made from 100% "abandoned plastic waste". The chassis is made from 40% recycled plastic which reduces the carbon emissions up to 30%. And, this laptop is Energy Star certified. All of that is great for the environment, but does it perform? Thankfully, the answer for me is: YES!
This particular model, Acer Aspire Vero 15.6” Full HD Laptop with Intel i7-1355U, 16GB LPDDR5 and 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD performs well. The full HD display is as you would expect - it is not spectacular but it is good. The processor is a 13th Gen Intel i7-1355U which is new and considered high-end. I was able to move through my tasks quickly. I would think this is not a PC you would want to use if you are a serious gamer, but for my game playing, it performed well. As for the battery life, I did have to adjust the VeroSense, Acer's included battery management app, to ECO from Performance mode to get more than 4 hours of battery life just surfing, reading email, listening to music, etc. There are four performance modes - I just had to find the one that would work best for my everyday use. At present, after using this PC daily for about a week, I am finding that the 16GB LPDDR5 Memory is sufficient for me. This is enough to make multi-tasking simple, but know that the RAM is not upgradeable - it is what it is. I am finding that the 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD is more than enough storage for me and it is fast. A really cool thing they have done is that they used standard screws in the chassis so that you are able to access/upgrade without needing that special tiny tool that is normally needed to access the guts of a laptop. Acer chose to include various ports including 2 Thunderbolt 4, 2 USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and there is a headphone jack, for those still using wired headsets. A wonderful fingerprint reader is located in the upper left of the touch pad and it works extremely well. I wanted to setup the PC for Windows Hello facial recognition, but unfortunately the included camera does not seem to support that function. But the fingerprint reader works great for that purpose.
Overall, I find the Acer Aspire Vero 15.6” Full HD Laptop Intel i7-1355U with 16GB LPDDR5, and 512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD to be a good performing, environmentally sound laptop that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

This thing is a little beast. I’m thought enjoying it and the pros definitely outweigh the cons by a long shot so let’s start with the pros
PROS:
+Keyboard is backlit and TACTILE. Has good depth and travels nicely. (R and E keys are backwards/green which doesn't bother me, and if anything is a fun quirk)
+Texture of computer is very nice and I love the gray color with the yellow/white/black specks throughout, gives it character. Looks fantastic and I've had people think I was using a Macbook at first glance? Definitely doesn't look like one after closer examination but people looking for a possible dupe, this one is sleek! Also no fingerprints all over, since the texture is great at hiding them.
+Screen is a matte texture which I prefer and it looks great! I am totally ok with not having a touchscreen but I understand this could be make or break for some people. Screen looks good and I have no problems watching 1440p videos!
+Quick and easy setup out of the box
+Battery life is solid for me, 4-6 hours multitasking/playing music, miles better than the <2 I had from my old PC.
+Feel like I might run out of space quickly with the 512 GB SSD but upgrading to a 1 or 2 TB is very easy, according to a YouTube tutorial. Like only a few minutes to change it and minimal things to unhook/move.
+Touchpad is nice and smooth, able to be replaced if needed and the buttons are tactile enough.
+Downloaded Steam and Fallout New Vegas just to see how it could handle games, I only play PC occasionally and it ran buttery smooth. I'm sure it can handle a stronger game engine but definitely nothing too taxing. Wouldn't recommend AAA games from this gen but apparently it can play Elden Ring at a low FPS.
CONS
-While the screen is nice, some textures/shadows could look better but really not a bad screen at all. Sometimes when opening a new window on a screen the window will display a strange pixelated shadow, but that doesn't bother me. Not sure if an Acer problem or a specific problem from my laptop.
-Speakers are on the bottom of the PC so sound could get lost if not on a surface. I've had no complaints listening to videos/music while sitting at a desk, using the desk stand included in the box helps throw the sound a little more. I do opt tot use my bluetooth headphones more and set up was quick and easy.
-Numerical keyboard is a little small but once you get used to it, its a non issue.
-No SD card/CD DVD port but has an LAN/HDMI port which is a solid trade off. SD adapters are thankfully not pricey, neither are disk drives.
All in all this thing is great and I would recommend it to anyone. Definitely another win for this company

Sustainable eco-friendly laptop

I am genuinely excited to be using a laptop constructed entirely from recycled materials for the first time. Acer's decision to incorporate 40% PCR plastic into the chassis, resulting in a 21% to 30% reduction in CO2 emissions, is a commendable step towards sustainability. This eco-friendly approach reflects Acer's dedication to minimizing its carbon footprint.
The laptop's design is immediately noticeable, with its slightly thicker profile compared to many other slim laptops on the market. The recycled plastic chassis provides a distinctive appearance that, while basic and straightforward, stands out as an environmentally conscious choice. The keyboard keys are also crafted from recycled plastic and feature a simple backlight. It's worth noting that the "R" and "E" keys are reversed, serving as a reminder of the "Recycle, Reduce, Reuse" mantra. The packaging is well done, enhancing the unboxing experience.
The build quality of the Acer Aspire Vero is impressive. It's an exceptionally lightweight laptop, making it incredibly portable. The cobblestone gray color has a subtle and earthy feel, with a textured grain providing a unique tactile sensation. The inclusion of a laptop pouch in the package is a thoughtful addition.
Setting up the laptop is a breeze, taking less than 10 minutes to get Windows up and running. While the audio speaker quality is decent, the screen offers vibrant and accurate colors, enhancing the overall viewing experience. The keyboard keys are smooth and lightweight, making typing a pleasure. The laptop's battery life is reasonable, lasting approximately three hours during continuous usage with video playback and multiple background processes. While the laptop may heat up slightly after extended use, it quickly returns to normal temperature.
In terms of performance, the laptop holds well with the Intel i7 processor delivering solid results for everyday tasks and even handling some gaming. While the display may lack brilliance, it doesn't hinder overall performance. The laptop maintains low temperatures even during demanding tasks, and the battery life, while not exceptional, is decent.
In summary, I'm highly impressed with this laptop, particularly due to its eco-friendly focus. The utilization of recycled plastics in its construction and Acer's dedication to sustainability are noteworthy. While this laptop offers a smaller carbon footprint and decent performance, it may not cater to those who prioritize style and display brilliance. However, for individuals seeking a laptop that aligns with environmental values, the Acer Aspire Vero is a compelling choice.
