The monitor powers on, and the computer recognizes the monitor, but the screen remains black. I have missed my return window (it's only 14 days I guess). I'm going ot take it into Best Buy, but I'm feeling like I should have just bought something from Amazon for a better return policy.

Best Buy sent me an expired promo code. Could of bought something cheaper from Amazon.

Screen not plugged with laptop

The 16PM1Q Bbmiuux is powered by a single USB-C cable, which can also provide the display signal to the monitor from a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. This "USB-C with DisplayPort Alternate Mode" functionality allows for a one-cable solution for both power and video. Alternatively, if your device doesn't support USB-C for video, you can connect your device using a mini-HDMI cable and power the monitor separately by connecting the USB-C port to a charging block or power source.
