Beautiful, touch screen with vibrant colors, fantastic brightness, and excellent responsiveness. Nice, backlit keyboard that you can turn off if needed, but I hardly ever do that. Good feedback on the keys, they also feel sculpted for my fingertips (but I could be mistaken, I love writing on this computer so much.) Big but doubles as a large tablet that I find myself using more than my regular 10" tablet now. Might have docked a star for battery life but I'm getting around 5-6 hours typically so it's not really that bad. Overall, I'm loving this laptop more than I thought I would. I'm using daily and have no complaints. Okay, one minor annoyance, every once in a while the fan appears to speed up for no reason. It's not very loud but I still don't like it. Maybe it's just mine. I'm still testing it out but so far if there is a problem, I'd trade it in for the same model, I like it that much.

I bought this computer for school but ended up having to return it because I didn't realize how big of a laptop it is. After being disappointed in having to return it because of my incapability to realize that a 15.6" 5lb+ laptop wasn't what I needed, I was sad to send it back. It had a BEAUTIFUL screen with such vibrant colors that made watching videos, trailers, or movies on this an absolute dream. It's backlit keyboard is nice, and I think this would be a really great laptop if you were just going to use it around your home to do some work, surf the web, or just watch a movie and relax This doesn't come with an optical drive, but many laptops nowadays don't either. I know it's a 2-in-1,but it's very uncomfortable to use this as a tablet considering how big and clunky it is. Again, if you want a computer for home use, this computer is absolutely wonderful!!! It wasn't right for me, but it is still nonetheless a great laptop!

I use my computer for school work and streaming so it does exactly what I need it to do. When I purchased it I was told it would be a great gaming computer, not a huge gamer so going to have to say I would not want to use it if you are big into gaming.

My second purchase of a Acer computer. Very dependable and easy to navigate. Many options to select from and the prices are really competitive. It is lightweight and compact. That's important because I travel a great deal so the weight makes a huge difference.

First off, this thing is built like a tank, especially for this price point. The lid and inside are a brushed aluminum, with the lid having a cool brush pattern that will help to hide wear and scratches. The bottom and sides are a rubberized plastic that doesn't feel cheap at all.
The screen is full HD and looks great. Lighting is even and light bleed is minimal for this price point. The screen folds back all the way to be used in several modes, including a tablet mode. The hinge is smooth and tight so it stays in any position. Mine makes a scary snap when it goes all the way back, but I think it's the hinge locking into place so it stays flush.
Speakers are good, and offer loud, somewhat tinny sound. They're typical of laptop speakers and are some of the better ones I've heard, though.
The keyboard is a nice chicklet style with a full number pad. It's also backlit!
Where this thing really shines is with the processor and video card. It's running off the new Intel Kaby Lake platform with a 7th generation i5 and the new HD620 video card.
Intel has been working to make gaming possible in its integrated cards, and this time they've really started to hit their stride. I have a big desktop gaming rig for my main gaming, but this laptop, very surprisingly, is capable of being my secondary portable rig for light gaming.
So far it's been able to handle most of the games I've thrown at it in 720p low to medium settings (which looks very good on a laptop sized screen) at over 30 frames with some tweaking. Games like Doom and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare run at 30-ish frames while Overwatch runs a solid 50-60 at low and 30 at higher settings. Battlefield 4 also looks smooth at medium settings at 30 frames. While it's not a gaming laptop by any means, it's definitely capable of running some current and many older games while on the road. The 1TB hard drive provides ample room for tons of games and media, and the 8GB of memory is sufficient for gaming.
Gaming and heavy use will cause the fan to run, but it's fairly quiet and is much less distracting than a lot of other laptop I've used.
The cons here are small compared to the overall quality of the machine. The trackpad is good but not great. The power supply is the older style brick with a cable on each end (although it is small) while I prefer the travel style supply that plugs directly into the wall.
My main complaint is the amount of pre-loaded software. There is a lot. When I started using the machine disk utilization was very high, making it seem slower than it really is. Once I uninstalled some apps and disabled some of the more aggressive Windows processes everything ran snappy and the fan hardly ever comes on.
Overall I'm extremely impressed with this laptop. The screen and build quality alone are worth it, and the processor and excellent integrated video add value.

I bought this computer because it was very versatile. It could be used in a tablet mode as well as a laptop. I love the touch screen. The screen is on the larger side so I can comfortably see clearly without my glasses. There was some learning curve with Windows 10 (Previously I had Vista). Windows 10 is a big improvement over the Vista operating system. It ran a little slowly at first, but once configured the speed picked up greatly. Overall, a great choice!

The Acer Inspire R 15 is a great 2 in 1 computer for the money. Great HD definition, perfect size, not too big and not too small The keyboard actually stays lit when I type. Great 1 TB of storage, no freezes or crashes yet. I have yet to master all of this units capabilities... and I like that.

I purchased this laptop.for my mom.. She had a great time setting it up. She read manuels and onlyhad trouble with add on DVD player I purchased to connect to lap.top. Geek squad help solve that. They were awesome in Florence Ky.
The thing that impressed my mom the most was how much lighter this computer was than her previous laptop. She also was delighted with how quickly she could play her favorite game using touch screen verses clicking the mouse. Great buy!

It's nice. The extended keyboard is great for work and class. I wish it had an SSD but that is only a minor inconvenience in boot up speed. The screen is big, crisp, clear, and vibrant.

The build quality is excellent, the touch-display is highly responsive. Overall I would have given it a 5 star, but the hard-drive is the slowest. If you can swap it with an SSD then this machine will fly. Overall I am satisfied.

This notebook is a great buy. Its equally configured as some of the higher priced ones but has the same or better build quality. Its also user upgradable for ram hardrive which sealed the deal. Best audio I've heard from onboard speakers hands down.
Ram max 12 gig ddr4 2133mhz
It only has one sodimm slot so buy you an 8 gig dimm
Battery: A solid 9 hrs and 5 streaming youtube constantly. Yes i tried it

This is my second acer laptop, and I like the style and quality of the brand. This particular laptop is very nicely equipped and works well for all my needs, mainly office applications and briefings. I was a little disappointed with getting it home and.realizing it didn't have a DVD drive, but that has turned out to be a minor inconvenience. I am troubled by the trend of laptop makers that is going back to making it hard to upgrade the machines with no removable battery and no access to memory slots or hard drives. It is a common trend lately among all manufacturers so not directed strictly at acer. Over all it performs well, battery life is good. It has a beautiful led screen. For the price point it is an excellent value
