Quit pick up very easy to use for my first time purchase

Good unit. Solid. Like that it has actual number pad.

The Acer Chromebook 315 is an entry level 15.6” laptop with a basic full HD display built with a power efficient Intel Celeron N4500 processor that provides basic performance and great battery life with a fanless design. The processor is only dual-core running at a base speed of 1.1 GHz that can boost up to 2.8 GHZ when pushed to its limits. This Chromebook comes with a basic 64 GB eMMC storage which is barely enough nowadays for general web use and apps. 4 GB of memory is sufficient for simultaneously running a few Chrome web tabs, watching YouTube videos, though it will get a bit sluggish if you never close unused apps. It came with a USB-C charger which helps fully charge the Lithium battery only in a couple of hours. I have not been able to use it for 10 hours consecutively, but I can say it lasted at least 10 hours of mixed use over a few days, mostly web, youtube and Netflix. This chromebook has two USB-C 3.2 and two USB-A 3.2 ports, one of each on each side. Additionally, it still has a standard headphone jack. The built-in 720p Webcam, microphone and speakers complete the package that also make teleconferencing easy. It worked well when I tried it with Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The keyboard has a nice solid feel to it, just enough key travel but unfortunately it is not backlit, but I guess at the under $200 price point it’s to be expected. The touchpad is a bit too responsive and supports basic trackpad gestures like scrolling, zoom in and out, right-click. The keyboard actually has enough room to include a numeric pad. The overall built quality is OK, relatively light weight for a 15.6” laptop, it is about 3.5 lbs which makes it easy to travel with. The screen is full 1080p HD, decent quality for consuming web content and working on docs and spreadsheets as part of the Google Apps ecosystem or even Microsoft O365 Apps. The bezels are fairly narrow but unfortunately it is not a touch-screen, but at this price-point that would be too much to ask for. Much like most modern Chromebooks, you can also run many Android Apps from the Google Play store which contributes to making this a very affordable, versatile Chromebook. Acer also includes a lightly padded protective sleeve which is a nice touch, more laptop manufacturers should consider including one.

The Acer Chromebook 315 is a good base level laptop that will get the job done for everyday use. I've found it useful for web conferencing, streaming YouTube videos and general web browsing, so it can be a nice secondary device, whether you want to use it as a travel companion or for light productivity. Its a great choice for the kids as well! Design & Build Quality: One of the strong features at this price is the 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display. The non-reflective panel makes it more usable in bright places since it has no reflections from sunlights and indoor lights and while it might not have the color accuracy compared to higher-end screens, It’s good enough everyday videos and calls. The Chromebook 315 also weighs in as backpack-friendly, despite its larger screen size, and the included protective sleeve is a nice bonus. The OceanGlass touchpad made from recycled plastic is a nice touch. It’s made from recycled ocean plastic, which not only provides a smooth and responsive experience, but also helps to reduce plastic waste in the ocean. Performance & Usability This Chromebook is powered by the Intel Celeron N4500 with 4GB RAM for efficiency, not power. It’s enough to handle basic web surfing, Google Docs and streaming, but those who need to multitask may find the 4GB RAM lacking. The eMMC storage of 64 GB is limited too, so you will need to use either cloud storage or an external drive for large files. The HD HDR webcam is a big highlight, providing for nice image quality on video calls. Along with dual built-in microphones and DTS Audio dual speakers, the laptop offers a complete conferencing experience. The sound is distortion free and speakers placement is pretty interesting, being under the laptop they could get blocked depending on what you use to rest the laptop on. Battery Life & Portability Equipped with up to 10 hours battery life, the Chromebook 315 can last throughout a full day of work or on a long-haul flight. Final Verdict All users who want a inexpensive, environmentally friendly laptop computer for web conferencing, streaming and standard productivity, consider the Acer Chromebook 315. You could use this on the go with its Full HD display, and decent battery life, and the onboard audio is great for hybrid workers and students. If you will be running more CPU/GPU-intensive applications, or need more storage, take a look at the higher RAM and SSD storage models. I gifted this Chromebook to my son who is planning to go back to school after serving the Army National Guard.

Not great but not bad. The definition of you get what you pay for. I would not recommend if you like to use storage on the hard drive instead of on the cloud. Runs a bit slow on high speed WiFi. I’m wouldn’t recommend for a student or anyone who keeps records, more so short content or emails. I did like that the screen didn’t cause eye strain. I did not try to stream on it. I wound up returning this item.

There are a lot of functions I miss with this laptop but over all it's a good laptop

I think it was a good buy, I wish it had a hdmi port, because I can not figure out how to cast it to the monitor
