Audio IS bad!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is almost the perfect Chromebook everyone is waiting for. With an Intel i5-10210U - 8GB Memory - 128GB SSD for $629 (On sale for $529) and a wonderful 3:2 ratio (perfect for virtual desktops for those work at home with more vertical space). It's lightning fast with excellent battery (lasts the whole day). I've been using it the last two week everyday and has no lag whatsoever no matter what kind of tasks you throw at it. Has all the ports you need and a very good keyboard. The only con is the audio-it's as bad as everyone said. I have three more Acer Chromebooks: the 720P, R-11 and Acer 14. It's sad that all those three have better sound then this. Also, the edge by the hinge is sharp and can be a pain to use on your laps. The best aesthetic Chromebook is the Samsung V2 Plus which we also own. I was looking at the Lenovo Flex 5 (would be prefect if it has 8GB RAM). This Acer is a little overkill if you're not looking for the most advanced Chromebook. But for $529, how can anyone resist? So, despite the bad audio it's still a five star Chromebook for the price (you can always purchase a decent Bluetooth earbud or portable speaker with the money saved)

Great Laptop but Best Buy Double Charges EIP CARD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This a great chromebook, best computer I ever had - but do not buy from Best Buy. I bought it online with the EIP card I recently received from Uncle Sam. Best Buy charged the card twice. I called them twice over it and they say one charge will drop off in a week. Great, so in other words after waiting weeks from the government for the stimulus now Best Buy is holding half of it hostage. Do not expose yourself to this aggravation and frustation - buy elsewhere.

3x2 2k display is awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up for about 100 below retail price and it's worth the full retail price. The display is beautiful and I really love the 3x2 display. I compared this to my daughters new HP 2 in 1 14C 16x9 display and it really blows it out with the clarity and brightness. I'll take the faults of the speakers not great although they are better than I expected after reading some reviews. I've been scouting reviews all over the net and it seems they agree this is an awesome Chromebook for the money.

Best value. Premium and powerful, but imperfect.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recommended for someone who prefers a powerful, premium Chromebook that lasts all day with a 3:2 screen aspect ratio for hundreds less than the current competition and who doesn't mind a below average webcam, weak speakers and a little extra heft. Pros Excellent overall build quality Screen - 3:2 aspect ratio, 2k-ish touchscreen with lots of real estate and small bezels Keyboard - Nice size and great key "feel", backlit Trackpad - Large, smooth Ports/Connectivity - HDMI, USB-A, dual USB-C, micro SD, WiFI 6 Battery - Long battery life, charges faster than any other Chromebook I've used Internal Specs - Powerful i5 w/ 8GB RAM. My benchmarks: Acer Chromebook Spin 713 Octane 2.0 44,472 Speedometer 1.0 209+/-18 Speedometer 2.0 120+/-11 Cons Heavy and too large to use in tablet mode, but still portable and great in tent mode. Webcam is that of a budget chromebook - Performs well only in good lighting, artifacts and graininess increase as room darkens. Speakers - Tablet/phone quality speakers in a Chromebook. They don't sound bad, but they don't get very loud at all. My slim Samsung Chromebook Pro has better speakers. Screen - Great screen, but it doesn't get as bright as my Samsung Chromebook Pro Internal Fan for Cooling - A moving part that can clog with dust and fail, but it almost never comes on, and when it does, it is barely noticeable. The power is worth it.

Almost perfect, hopefully durable
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is dream to use, snappy, with a gorgeous screen. Which just makes the grainy, shadowy camera that much more unsatisfying. It really needs a separate webcam, which I will be purchasing since it's otherwise perfect. BUT, as others have said, the screen judders every now and then. This is not a good out-of-the-box sign. I'm debating exchanging it for this reason but it seems to be a common problem. The other chromebooks I have (HP, ASUS, Google) have been reliable.

Fast and Portable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much faster than the windows laptop it replaced. I was even able to put a Linux version of Firefox on it and even that is still super fast. Able to do pretty much everything I used the previous laptop for on the web. Anything more intensive I use my desktop PC for anyway. Really like the tablet mode as it makes it much more mobile than just a laptop. It's a little large to carry around as a tablet, but not too heavy to use.

A great Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great Chromebook. Yes, it does utilize a fan to cool , but the fan is quiet and doesn't switch on very often, so it is not a distraction. The performance of this CB is among the best I have ever experienced, The screen is sharp - important to me, because I have challenges. This has become my dail go-to machine. I have an XPS 13, but mostly I prefer this device. I loved my 2nd gen Slate, but now this is my main CB.

Awesome Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for a friend in Europe (it was requested). The Chromebook looks awesome. I opened it up and went through the procedures to activate it. It's lightning-fast. I used Netflix twice and the movies were crystal clear. The sound level was OK. I downloaded a few apps and all worked well. Before I handed the Chromebook to my friend I power washed it and it took only a few seconds to do.

Great Option for Teens
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second Chromebook we've bought and its been perfect for both of our teens. They go to different schools but both schools use Google Classroom so the Chromebooks work great with that platform. This particular Chromebook is awesome because it has the touch screen as well, which the kids love as an option. My son has used his for over a year and my daughter just got this one and they both say its super easy to use and the love all the features.

Great Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer Chromebook Spin has been a very good choice for our needs. We use it primarily for writing documents and searching the web for information. The screen is sharp and clear, the keyboard is raised just enough and the size makes typing easy. We have no issues with the sound though we do not use it for movies or game playing. It is a nice Chromebook overall and performs well. No issues so far.

My new daily driver
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little machine that feels far better than the price tag would suggest. The screen is top-notch, the keyboard is very good and the build is solid enough to make me feel confident that it'll hold up well over the long haul. I'm mostly working on the unit so far; emailing, creating documents, and using web-based content creation sites like Ayoa, Evernote, and Google Drive. It is now my daily driver.

Excellent Acer Chromebook.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am thrilled with this device. It's fast and the Google ecosystem is what I use in my day-to-day activities. It runs various apps flawlessly and I don't have to endure the Windows updates or bloat. I was also happy with Best Buy adjusting the price downward by a $100, as it went on sale shortly after I ordered it. Best Buy was very accomodating. If this fits what you do it a steal at $529!

Great chromebook at an awesome price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great chromebook for an awesome price point. The machine has metal casing that makes it look expensive. The screen ratio is great. The keypads are back lit which is rare at this price point. Not to mention the specs. The only negative (design flaw) is that the speakers are at the bottom of the machine. With the machine sitting on a table or lap, the sound is extremely muted.
