    Me: (2MONTHS AGO) Awesome a new chromebook with 90% of the spec qualifiers on my list, how sleek.good SSD processor, graphics storage is great. I wanted to fall in love with this, but i just cant especially at this price point. Cons- *Battery life leaves alot to be desired. Short and erratic *Audio is quite literally unbearable, neither crisp nor loud. Average cellphone with earbuds in is noticeably louder than the chromebook full blast. * touchpad issues even after tweaking settings. *screen panel is too thin it is goriila glass but, still feels flimsy. *Weird gapping around the keys. This book is not worth the hassle. I adore the chromebook 2in1 family, after owning several. This is dissapointing.

    Bad Internet Connection

    I love everything about this Chromebook, EXCEPT, the failing wifi. I tried powerwashing, and hardware resetting, and it still drops wifi for 20 seconds or so intermittently, which is NOT ideal for working from home over zoom. At first, I thought it must be my internet connection, but after trouble shooting my fiber and router and testing with other devices, it's clear that this Chromebook is the culprit. So many broken connections. I was looking for the perfect machine to work from home and on the road to get most of my work done and remotePC for the rest, but the shaky internet connection has killed the prospects for this machine fitting the bill. BUMMER. Will be returning.

    Extremely poor reliability

    The first time it stopped charging - I reset my personal data, purchased a box, bubble wrap, went to USPS, and mailed it to Texas for the warranty service. Got it back about two weeks later and was happy for several months. Then it revealed a new flow - it no longer was turning on. This time I had no option to remove may personal data. Again, I purchased a box, bubble wrap, went to USPS, and mailed it to Texas for the warranty service. A great laptop if you love mailing laptops with your personal data to Texas and do your laptop things on a smartphone.

    Dead pixel on brand new unit.

    This computer is absolutely incredible with the exception of the dead pixel/permanent screen flaw smack dab right in the middle of my screen. It was literally delivered less than two hours ago.

    The screen sometimes keeps on flickering, color-shifting from light to dark in some areas. I was concerned about how this product is going to survive in the long run and so had to return after just two days of use.

    The touchscreen stopped working after a few days. It is a quick bootup time though. About what you expect out of a chromebook

    Underwhelming features, unreliable after 1 year

    Started crashing and restarting frequently after 12 month. ChromeOS cpu and memory tests both report failures. After 18 month it sometimes can not even restart and requires a ChromeOS reinstall. The trackpad is overly sensitive when setup to tap to click, and requires too much pressure when setup to click. Sound volume is too low when used to zoom with family. Ability to flip and use as a tablet with touchscreen sounded nice on paper but in practice I only used it in laptop mode. Battery life was excellent in the beginning but degraded significantly after a year, even though I mostly use it plugged in at my desk. Android apps are sometimes required (eg spotify or netflix if you want to download music or apps for offline use) but they are not designed for laptops and look horrible. Also for some reason chrome and android apps store their files in different locations. Only redeeming quality is that when it doesn't crash it has good CPU power and enough memory for heavy internet usage (easily handles multiple windows and tabs with videos and images) Entry level macbooks can be found for not much more with employee/student discounts and are much better.

    A major shortcoming with this and Chromebooks is the inability to scan from an all-in-one printer. Address and fix this issue, and my rating is upgraded to 5 stars.

    Ducking the warranty

    Got this chromebook in Dec of 2020 and liked it well enough until the screen went totally black for no reason in May of 2021. I called Acer and they had me ship it to their repair center in TX. They said they would pay for the shipping but have not done so to date. After a week they called and said it was not covered because there was evidence that liquid had been spilled on/in it. No way this happened! We are 2 responsible seniors with no kids or pets, and take good care of our possessions. I must now begin a quest of fighting with them to get this resolved and am not happy.

    Functions mostly as expected, except the sound volume is really low on some apps - works fine for most streaming but can barely hear on Facebook video calls.

    WIFI Disaster

    I loved this chromebook for the same reasons others have listed. HOWEVER, my chromebook dropped wifi for 20-30 seconds 4-5 times a day and that was only using it after I got off work. From what I have read the 5ghz wifi is "too fast" for this chromebook, but definitely research before buying. Only other Con is the speakers are very poor. Plan to use headphones if you are listening with any other noise around.
