The Chromebook did not meet my needs at all. It was recommended to me by my children. I exchanged it for a MacBook Air.

Battery is not charging, after only 8 months. Horrendous technical support

Lasted less than 7 months. Piece of junk. Won’t purchase Asus again.

Great Chromebook I've had it for almost 4 years and haven't had any issues.

Just purchased and I am totally in love! I have a Acer Chromebook 15 which is decent but the spin 713 is a upgrade. My only CON is the screen flickering and glitching , NOT OKay! I just purchased this spin 2 days ago and that is really annoying. I see that has been a constant complaint in the comments. Hopefully it doesn't get to bad if so I will have to return sadly because I really love it. It's fast and I love the backlight on on the keys and awesome screen and I love the night light mode because I am usually up late doing work. Overall it is a win but they have to do something about that glitching. CONS, the speakers of course are tinny, very bad but I just ordered headphones to solve that problem.

Wow! I love it! Why? Crisp clear screen, Google apps and sync built-in, great lit keyboard, is light, easily folds into a tablet and rotates screen orientation faster than my iPad Pro, perfect touchscreen, lots of ports (1 USB, 2 USB-C, HDMI, headphone jack, microSD card), volume rocker, power button, convenient keys for back-forth, reload, full-minimize window/app, screen tiling, brightness, mute and volume up/down, and lock. Fully charged in minutes. It's like it was built from my wish list! Thank you, Asus! In my search for the perfect device, I have tried and quickly returned these: MacBook, iPad Pro 12.9", custom-built HP business laptop, iPad, iPadAir, Samsung S-6 tablet. It's perfect (except, I wish it had a numeric keypad and a stylus.) Worth every penny! Had great reviews.

I enjoyed using this Acer chromebook , and I passed it on to my son who love it as well . I gave it a 4 stars because the screen occasionally froze and I have to use a mouse to get it going which in a way defy the purpose for a touch screen.

Based on my first weeks use you can believe all those positive reviews. This laptop is better than good, it is really good. Super high resolution screen, intel 5 and 8 Gb. Add to that the 2 in 1 feature and I found this machine to be a great choice. The sound is also very good. I read reviews before purchasing and I hope this one might help someone else. That's my 2 cents

This was a nice chromebook in the beginning. Some of the keys popped off and they fixed them a few times but a couple couldn't be fixed. The cord became a problem and I was able to get one from Amazon that worked for 2 years. But almost 3 years to the date of my warranty expiring, it won't hold a charge anymore after using several different cords. It wasn't worth that amount of money for the life that I got out of it.

Why 2 stars then? I will have to return this chromebook and possibly buy it again in a few weeks, and it's all because of the stylus confusing or missing communication from Bestbuy and/or Acer: I am a teacher, all my students have chromebooks, so I thought I should have one too, but one that allows me to write my math lessons and share with students. So what I need the most is a stylus. It turns out a stylus doesn't come with the chromebook, no big deal, I thought, I will spend the extra $70 and buy one. Then I see a review on Youtube and it appears that this chrombook (but not other 713 models) are USI compatible [I'm not 100% sure though]. This should be good news, instead Acer does not sell these stylus pens!? It turns out that the only USI stylus is made and sold by HP, but it is sold out!! So at this time, I have absolutely no way to test this chromebook with a stylus, and that's why I have to return it. Once HP (or Acer?) will start selling these USI stylus, then I will re-buy this chromebook, because it is an amazing laptop, premium quality, super fast. On the cons side, the speakers are weak and tinny and camera just acceptable (for videoconferencing). I will happily re-score my 2star review once this problem is resolved. One final note: if you look up Acer spin 713 be aware that some models (I believe 1w...) do come with a stylus elegantly stored in the chromebook, but the 713 2w doesn't! Hard to believe they couldn't figure out a better naming scheme for a product line that could otherwise easily rival other most famous brands.

bought on 2/4/21 ...loved it until today, 1/3/25...just 3 years later & it has horizontal flickering lines & I can't use my pin!!! Now it needs a repair :(

After reading many reviews of chromebooks online I got the Spin 713 for 100$ off with free shipping. It's super fast, lightweight and takes about 45 seconds to set up. I have only used PC's since 1997. I don't do any gaming. I got this to surf the internet (very fast), email, create/share work documents and watch Netflix/videos. I have a 5yr old Windows laptop that was just getting slow but honestly still did almost all I needed it to do. The true turning point was my wife and I do P90x on Beachbody, which only comes on demand through an app. Windows doesn't have an app and the workout videos are not designed to be accessed through the web only. The don't run smoothly without the app. Playstore has the app. We use the flip feature of the computer in the garage or traveling and watch the videos for the workouts. Everyone raves about the resolution, it's great but honestly I couldn't tell any difference from my older PC's. I am not a technophile, to me HD is HD. The speakers keep getting complained about, but I don't feel that way. In the house or on the couch watching videos or zoom or listening to pandora I have the volume on .5-.75 volume and it's excellent. When I am outside more than 4-5 feet away the speakers are not ideal. They were not designed for that. I just Bluetooth a small JBL speaker because over the ambient outside noise and my breathing the volume is to low. Very lightweight, looks sleek in the grey, immediately starts up with opening, battery lasted several days of surfing the web, and the screen is plenty big to watch Netflix etc. Not a single complaint.

I'll be honest here. I did return this chromebook... But it's because the gaming laptop I originally wanted had a flash sale and the price difference between the two was still within my budget range. Other than that this is one amazing Chromebook... awesome build and gorilla glass screen/trackpad ensures that you won't have to worry about this thing when you're travelling and it;s in your backpack. The newer generation i5, 8 GB of ram and 128 SSD nvme makes this thing super fast!! I opened as much tabs and apps as I can and this thing did not get bogged down. Keyboard and trackpad feels great and the 2k display get pretty bright. Battery life is good then again a lot of chromebooks are but for sure if you have a long flight this thing should more than last. It does have a fan but you can barely here it and since it's a touchscreen there is some significant reflection but the brightness of the screen helps with this. The downside... it will have to be the price... I mean it's really "cheaP" for everything that you are getting in a chromebook... but this falls under the "windows laptop" price range of decent laptops. But if you're in need of a laptop for basic needs and a "travelling companion" then i can recommend this hands down. If i wasn't into "gaming" as much as I am 100% chance i'd stick with this. Oh and if you do wanna game casually stadia and geforce now worked great with this!!! also the xbox cloud gaming service ran pretty decent as well but you do need a great internet connection to prevent lagging. =)

It's great, but after 3 years of minimal use, the screen died. The built-in speakers are very weak also. I can't even give this 3 stars.

Compared to most of the notebooks and chromebooks in the market this model offers great video conferencing experience especially when i work remote during this Covid times and I do many virtual meetings every day working from home . I dont expect a sound system quality on the inbuilt speakers but this is far better compared to most of the notebooks in the market. 3:2 and 2K screen is awesome. Build quality is really good- sturdy at the same time elegant and sleek. I also like the fact that this is Intel Mobile performance Certified! WiFi6 is super fast. Great performance! Great configuration and for the spec its great price - much more affordable than the Lenovo and HP options for the spec.

So for 3 years I’ve loved my Chromebook. Now after 3 years and 3 months the screen flickers and I can’t figure out how to fix it. I paid over $600 for this thing. Very disappointed.

Nice when it worked. Did not last too long. After a couple of months, the battery stopped charging. It was stuck on "1% - calculating". The customer service was easy to reach and friendly to resolve the problem. However, for me, this purchase meant to buy a problem. Now I need to find a box, sent it to the service location, live without the laptop while it is in the mail and being fixed. I am still not clear who pays the back and forth shipping. So when comparing the deals, there was a hidden cost; a couple weeks without the laptop and all the time I spend on calling, packaging and shipping. Can you imagine this is the only laptop you take with you on a trip. It works as far as you have a power outlet near by. Kind of, like a descktop, just without the decktop comfort.

Motherboard fried 2 years into having it with light use. 500 bucks to repair. A paperweight now
