Upgraded from the Lenovo C330 which was an excellent Chromebook for the price. This Acer Spin 713 has been on my watch list since the holidays with the price fluctuating on many holidays. For the price and honestly even for above this price point, this is one of the best Chromebooks that you can buy! The Intel core i5 chip set that runs under the hood is more than substantial and I haven't had any kind of slow downs or issues with open tabs or apps. The screen is nice and bright with great resolution and the keyboard is more than acceptable to type on.
If you have someone who needs a productivity item, or a small laptop that will perform basic functions in a nice and snappy way, then it's hard to beat what you're getting for the on sale price point of this Chromebook.

This is probably the best Chromebook out there for the price. It’s very fast. The screen is bright and clear. I like the backlit keyboard, all the ports, long battery life. I highly recommend this Chromebook.

This is the overall best Chromebook right now, great screen, battery keyboard and good build quality and weight. On sale for less than $500 and it's a steal, probably worth the asking price if you need something good now.

If it had upward firing speakers, it would be perfect. Bright screen, fast, good port selection but the bottom speaker placement lets it down. The 11th gen Intel version should be a beast

My Favorite Laptop Ever!

After paying over $1300 for a Surface Pro 4 that barely made it to 2 years, I vowed never to spend that kind of money on a laptop again. I'm someone who uses their laptops for basic purposes; I surf the internet, check email, stream music and video and keep digital records. This devise has given me absolutely no issues so far. I have a Pixel phone and Google Nest camera and I love having all my devices connected. Also, the battery life lasts so long between charges. The only niggle I have is that the speaker output isn't great; I have to use headphones if I want to hear a movie/show.

This is the first time I'm using a chromebook. It's very fast and user friendly. The only thing is that it's a little bit pricey. Overall it was a great purchase.i will definitely recommend it.

Screen is gorgeous. Super fast specs for a Chromebook. Build and speakers are not the most premium, but serious value is found under the hood where it matters to me (processor, ram, ssd, screen, keyboard).

Great Chromebook except for 2 things

The Chromebook is great except for 2 things that bug me
1: This Spin 713 has a 3/2 aspect ratio - all monitor, laptops and cameras have a 16/9 aspect ratio. If you watch a YouTube video or movie, there is a half inch black band top and bottom of the screen. If you look at still pictures they are zoomed in to fill the screen, chopping off edges
2: The speakers are poor, my low end $200 cell phone speaker is superior. I would pay $5 more for better speakers.
This Chromebook has very high-end component probably better than 99% of the Chromebooks out there including i5 Intel processor and a 2K touch screen that looks fantastic.

Very happy with my new Chromebook so far. It's fast and the screen resolution is awesome. I agree with other reviews that the speakers could be placed in a better spot instead of underneath the laptop. Sound is not great and if you listen to music this will be disappointing but that is not a deal breaker for me. Before purchasing this Acer, I had purchased a HP Chromebook and I was not thrilled with it so I returned it and got this one and I'm happy I did. Shout out to Best Buy for the extended return policy!!! I would recommend this Acer.

Pretty flawless so far. I was in the market for a downstairs living room-something just popped in my mind-need to Google it really quick-but not on my phone-type of inexpensive fast laptop/Chromebook. This fit the bill, specially if you catch it on sale! The screen is waaaay better than any of the lower tier TN panel Chromebooks where the screen disappears at off angles. And it's touchscreen and foldable to be just a tablet. The next thing I want to do is use linux on it since it has a fast enough processor to do light to medium processing. No complaints! Battery is rock solid and the keyboard is great too type on. Good job Acer. My first Acer.

There was a lot to like about this chrome book. The screen looked really good and it was fast. I ended up returning it because of two things. One, I could not get Zoom to work on it successfully (kept freezing about every 5 minutes) and support from Zoom and Best Buy were not able to solve it. The other issue I had with it is that the lid, when opened, created a hard ridge that stuck down below the bottom of the laptop so when I used it in my lap in laptop configuration, it quickly got annoyingly uncomfortable. Other than that, I recommend it based on my 2 weeks of use.
As many reviews have pointed out, sound was lack-luster but workable.

Very nice! Great value, love the screen quality and aspect ratio. There really isn’t anything to dislike other than a minor peeve of mine. The hinges have a tiny sharpe edge that catches on clothing and scratches my legs when using on my lap. But… i don’t use it much because I bought it for the hubs as a gift, and he has no issues whatsoever. It’s very fast, the screen is bright and the aspect ratio of screen is excellent for his use. He reads his kindle books on it (we old people…lol) and he really likes it. The hinges are a non issue for him. Got it for a steal of a price! Have owned it for 6 months.

This is my first Chromebook and so far I am really enjoying it. it is replacing an older Surface 3 which I never really liked that much. As 99% of what I do is online this thing meet my needs perfectly. Keyboard is very nice and the battery last a long time. The only thing i wish was better was the sound but I usually were headphones anyway so it not really an issue. Just be aware if you need to use the built in speakers in a noisy area you will struggle to hear. Very satisfied and would definitely purchase again.

Pros: Beautiful screen, fast, great trackpad, USB C charging on both sides.
Cons: highly reflective screen, mushy keys, subpar speakers.
Let me say that this has a great screen and that is a big part of the experience. It was a touch too reflective for me but I also had windows behind me. The glass trackpad is incredibly smooth. Probably the best I've used outside of Macbooks.
Thinks I didn't like so much were the keys a bit too mushy. Also, while I think many people will like the HDMI port and USB A port, I found that this laptop is very functional with some great specs but is also utilitarian.

Best Chromebook value on the market. To do better plan to pay $400 or more
Pros:
1) Exceptional screen with 3:2 ratio
2) Great trackpad
3) Fast (full U series i5)
4) Rugged - Milspec rated
5) Very good keyboard
6) 128GB storage - Great for multiple users
Cons
1) Not a sexy machine. Looks are generic and utilitarian
2) No fingerprint reader
This is the eight Chromebook I have bought for myself or family. By far the best. I've been using Chromebooks since the Acer C720 over five years ago.
Remember with Chromebooks always check the "expiration date" of when they will not longer get updates.

Wanted to move from dependence on Windows. Owned an Acer R-11 and was pleased with it. Knew I needed something more powerful. Did a great deal of research before purchasing. Of the Chromebooks I researched this one offered everything I needed at a price which was below any of the others. Have been using it for about a month and am happy with my purchase. Screen is beautiful and I like the 3/2 ratio. Keyboard has a good feel. It has all the ports I need and the glass track pad is smooth and large. The 8gb ram and 128gb SSD make this a snappy little machine.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
