Customers commend the Chromebook Spin 713's impressive screen, long battery life, and lightweight design, finding it easy to use. However, some users reported issues with the speakers, noting subpar sound quality and occasional noise. A few also mentioned concerns about fan noise and the trackpad's performance. While some found the price high, others felt it was justified by the device's features.

I bought this thinking it will make things so much more simple to do. So far I think I made a excellent choice, cause I really do not need a full blown laptop to do the things I plan to do with this. I really like everything about the spin 713, battery life is amazing, keyboard is fine,as is the display. I can only think of 2 things that I consider "cons"I do feel the speakers could be better , and i cannot get it to communicate with my printer, but i'm still working on that 1 .

This's a peppy, solid performer. It does everything I used to need my Windows PC for, but is far less hassle to keep updated and operational. It's got great battery life, a vibrant screen and multitasks on streaming video, doing multiple online apps and more (all at the same time). It's got a very nicely crafted chassis, too. I'd recommend this for a good, every day computer for just about anyone who needs something with above average performance.

Not perfect, but still gets 5 stars for what it can do at this price point. Buy this if you want a Chromebook with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Don't buy this if you care about speakers. The speakers aren't terrible, but they're merely functional. For music or movies, I bluetooth to speakers or use headphones.

I just received this laptop and have spent several hours loading Linux (LibreOffice, Firefox, and gimp) and Android applications (Dropbox, Arlo, etc).
I am so impressed with how solid this little machine is. Excellent graphics, good keyboard and layout, fast charging and the battery seems to be top notch.
You can easily feel how sturdy this machine is, but it's still light enough to carry around with you.
The audio is a bit weak. It works best if you set the laptop into tent mode, which seems to be a better way for playing videos. I suspect this design was to meet the Intel requirement for immersive audio. Especially in a 2-in-1.
The video makes up for the lack of strong audio. And it has a headphone jack, so there's that.
No biometric security, such as a fingerprint reader. This is supposedly required for Evo, but I imagine the possibility of Chrome OS incorporating facial recognition is enough to pass on this one. It does meet all the other Evo specs, including the fast wake up. Thank goodness, too, because I was getting to the point of looking for a stick to beat my old laptop.
This really is a premium Chromebook. It's one that will last several years. It's not for the dabbler or someone just interested in accessing the web.

I bought this laptop only a couple days ago but so far I'm in LOVE! I switched over from using Windows computers my whole life, so the Google OS looked weird at first and took a little bit to get used to. Other than that, this laptop has been a legitimate delight to use. I'm using it mostly for college work and web browsing/occasional youtube, so I'm not going to be putting it to the ultimate performance test, but it exceeds all of my expectations!
Pros:
-Really good battery life (for my light-moderate use. I've had it for 2 days and haven't needed to charge it at all while using it for schoolwork & youtube throughout the 2 days)
-Amazing screen (in love with the 3:2 ratio and how the display looks! HIGHLY recommend giving this laptop a try just for this screen)
-Build quality (very solid & feels premium)
-Keyboard (I'm extremely picky with laptop keyboards and this one is very tactile and responsive/clicky! Exactly what I was looking for in a keyboard)
-Good trackpad
-Quiet fans (they'll ocasionally kick up and make a loud noise, but that doesn't happen a lot and only lasts a few seconds. Other than that they are whisper quiet!)
-Doesn't get hot! (I've felt it get slightly warm but that's it. Nothing extreme or concerning)
-Very lightweight
Cons:
-Speakers? (basically everyone lists this as a con b/c they're not GREAT but in my opinion they're adequate. They could definitely be better which is why it's a "con", but I was expecting way worse based on other reviews)
-Camera (the webcam quality is embarrassingly bad. I'd have to buy a seperate webcam to use for zoom/online meetings b/c the pics/videos this laptop takes are toaster quality)

Overall, I think we bought a "Cadillac" Chromebook for our granddaughter who is home-schooled and entering the 7th grade. Like everything about it, except for the relatively loud fan noise. I had read other reviews about a loud fan, so I knew this was going to be a "con" while making my final choice. Also, this is NOT a cheap product, as evidenced by the very high price.

This notebook/laptop/tablet combo packs a lot of features for a budget device. I use mine for work quite often and my kids use theirs for gaming and sometimes for schoolwork too. It could use some more RAM, overall though a decent gadget for an affordable cost.

perfect balance of resolution, CPU performance, touchpad+keyboard quality, and price.
first off, the Intel i5 evo with iris graphics is about the best you can get in this price range. iris graphics is a leap ahead of the HD graphics of previous gen intels. just plain fast for a sub $1k 3 in 1. Nice chassis nice bright wide angle/taller view display, if you're worried about switching to the taller format vs. the 16:9 format, don't worry you won't look back. Way better for web viewing/multitasking. Gorilla glass touchpad feels and responds great. Gorilla glass screen feels reassuring.
Only con I can mention are the speaker locations, forward facing would have been better in my opinion because I use it in standard laptop orientation most the time.
Display colors seem great to me for IPS panel.
Chrome OS is not a part of this review, it isn't quite perfect, but it's all I want in a laptop and integrates well with pixel phone.

This is a higher end chromebook and the price shows it. So far so good for this device. After the initial sticker shock, I'm glad i purchased it. Nice screen, snappy performance. My only real issue with it is the downward facing speakers because the music gets a bit muted.

Looking for a lightweight and portable Chromebook
with plenty of power and an assortment of connection ports then look no further than this offering from Acer....Great performance, large mousepad and excellent keyboard typing feel, running one of Intel's EVO i5 chips making the most of this compact yet vibrant screen at 13.5" 2k.

I purchased one of the earliest Chromebooks years ago, and this is its replacement. The larger, taller screen, the faster processor, and the greater memory make a real, noticeable difference. The fact that I can also use it as a tablet is a bonus, but it is a bit too big and heavy to replace my iPad. I would recommend.

I'm a power user - let's get that out of way
I've been an IT manager for 15 years, I'm a tech gadget aficionado, and I have over 75 devices on my home network.
I use a Samsung 49" Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor (LC49G97TSSNXDC) as my main monitor (5120 x 1440)
I always have a bunch tabs open in chrome
I play candy crush both in facebook website and on the android app
My work-issued Apple MacBook Pro M1 (2020) machine sometimes struggles with keeping up with my demand
My Acer Chromebook Spin 713 just works
it works as a tablet, as a laptop, and when it's plugged into my 49inch monitor pushing all of those pixels
I'm VERY happy and for $350 that I paid for it, I highly recommend the machine to others.

Sharp Monitor Corners Poke Thighs

Everything works as expected. The one thing I do not like about it is the sharp corners of the bottom of the monitor and the method of hinging. When using it on your lap, if your legs are spread apart enough for the computer to be resting a little bit on the inside of your thighs, the corners poke into your thighs quite harshly. And due to the way it is hinged, the more you tip the monitor open the more the corners dig in, They should provide some type of after-market bumper for them. I always have to have a towel across my lap to cushion it.

I bought in Chromebook because I wasn't happy with another chromebook that I bought for my wife. Has all the features I want, especially with the "evo" platform. As advertised, the computer has a fast boot up time, fast wake up time and very responsive. I chief reason why we got this one was due to speed. Our other chromebook kept blackscreening on us. I believe it was a Lenovo OLED. Not much you can say about reviewing laptops that you already know about. Do your homework and research "EVO" platform. The tablet mode is a plus, the battery charge time is 30 minutes for a full charge, the screen holds its position well. I'm also on the boat that chromebooks are less likely to get hacked. (For the time being!!!!!)

This CB is fast, bright, and the battery last a good while. What I don't like is how slippery it is. I nearly dropped it once or twice already. The same with the keyboard, it's slippery and flat. Other than that, it's a good machine.

Its a Chromebook, but a powerful one. Really like the color vibrancy of the screen. Also, pretty fast and built like a tank. Keyboard is solid, not flimsy. I recommend it.
Speakers are not good. Plan on using bluetooth headphones.
