Excellent computer for a junior high student. Easy to use. Highly recommended.

Made before the introduction of "Chromebook Plus", this speedster upgrades to and runs Google's AI boosted Plus OS even though it doesn't say "plus" on the lid. It's one click to enable the built in Debian VM, where you can install and run all your favorite Linux apps and dev tools.

Purchased on 11/21/23 - Black Friday Sale. First update out of the box made it a (super) Chrome Plus Machine! All the apps from my old Chromebook were also installed. Very Easy Startup. Comes with a case but no pencil When setup asks if you want ChromeVox turned on during setup .. you might say no .. very tedious..

This is a really solid chromebook, really nice to hold. It flips to look like a tablet is really nice as well. I recommend this chromebook and it has a really responsive touch screen.

At this price point, you have certain expectations for quality and functionality, which this Chromebook fails to deliver. The specs are solid and appear to be "high-end" for any 14" 2-in-1 laptop, it's fast, responsive, and plenty of storage. The issue is mainly with quality. First, the keyboard just feels average, but it is acceptable. The touchpad has a "loose" feeling where it doesn't feel fully attached to its base. This is a very common flaw with low-end notebooks. The speakers are effectively useless. They sound super tiny and have no depth. My phone sounds better. Seriously. The LCD panel itself is also low quality. The colors are washed out, there is light bleed at the corners, and it's not something you'd expect on a standard notebook at this price point. The hinge mechanism, touch responsiveness, and other aspects are average. Otherwise, it's just another Chromebook that has priced itself beyond what its quality would justify. This needs to be in the $400-$500 price range. Also, preferably, I'd like to see them actually make a $700 Chromebook, as this one is "listed," but with appropriate quality build and parts. For me, it's simply not good enough for what I paid - even on sale in late 2023. If you can find it cheap enough and aren't concerned with the negatives, it would be a perfectly acceptable Chromebook for most average users.

Did my research on 714 spin. I waited for it to go on sale for under $500. Been using the cheaper Chromebooks for a while. Then dicided I need a more powerful Chromebook. Does what I needed for, with no problems at all. Great Chromebook.

I picked this up on a Black Friday discount, I was not looking to upgrade from my Spin 713. But the price was too good. The Chromebook Plus features allow me greater control in video conferencing and this has no problem either as a stand alone laptop or docked at my desk pushing two monitors.

I like the versatility of the Chromebook, I changed out my Microsoft laptop for this and although a Chromebook has its limitations I am happy with my purchase.
