One problem though... the monitor only goes full screen when in game mode for some reason. I tried adjusting the screen properties with no luck. When not playing games it displays in 21" mode...? I've messed with this numerous times without being able to fix it. Everyone say's, "Oh just adjust the resolution." Ah ya... did it a hundred times. I tried to return it but the Best Buy guy talked me out of it and said, "Oh.. just adjust the resolution." Well geniuses... it didn't fix it. Save $20 and just get the 21" monitor.

This Acer 23" LED computer Monitor was a great purchase! Beautiful clarity and color, perfect "mid-sized" monitor for my computer desk, and yet large enough to view as an HD TV. More cool stuff from what I call the "House of Fun" ... BEST BUY !!!

2 weeks into the purchase of this monitor, the screen started to have green dot pixels. Threw away the box so couldn't send back. I think it would've been cheaper to send me a new one than to send it in to evaluate and fix.. didn't have the time so just threw it into the corner as a backup. Never buying this brand again.

I selected this monitor at the store after reviewing similar ones on the shelf. The Acer was the largest that would fit in my cabinet alongside the computer. I was pleased with the price. The performance is also very impressive. It is bright and the colors are vivid. An HDMI cable was included in the box so I had to return the separate one I had purchased.

The good: - Price: I got this monitor on sale. This is a decent monitor for the money. Colors look pretty good, display is crisp and vivid, and the input lag (response time) is good enough for gaming. - Relatively small bezel/frame that blends in with the rest of the display - Many inputs: DVI, HDMI, and VGA. Other monitors in this price range at the time seemed to only have 2 inputs. - Beefy stand with magnetic paper-clip holder and tilt adjustment. The Bad: - I HATE the glossy finish on the display of this monitor. I thought I would get used to it but I didn't, after using it for a while I am getting tired of the glare on the screen, it is almost like a mirror, making it harder to see dark scenes. I plan on replacing this with a monitor that has a matte display. - This monitor has somewhat bad black levels. I notice in dark scenes in games and movies, I can see the backlight, and the picture is more of a dark grey instead of a black. - Even with the brightness turned down the monitor still seems really bright in a dark room on light colored scenes. Eyes may get strained after a while. - This doesn't really matter to me, but this monitor cannot be wall mounted.

At the time I bought this, it was on sale, and for the price this monitor is great. It has both a vga or hdmi cable as some laptops/computers do not have an hdmi output, so that's plus. The screen is easy to calibrate and is large enough for my needs. The only thing is that it doesn't have speakers, so when you want to play a video or music, you'll have to find a way to set up the output of the sound from your computer to come out through your computer's speakers if you do not already have external ones to plug into the monitor itself. Luckily I didn't need to fiddle with the settings because I have external speakers that I've been wanting to use. But if you don't care too much for sound or can google how to change those settings or if you already know how, then this monitor will be of no problem to you.

If you have been looking for an affordable, stylish and sleek IPS monitor. This is the place to be. The Acer H236LBID is the BEST IPS Monitor for under $200. I use this as my gaming monitor, it may say 5ms response time but you can't even tell the difference between 1 and 5 unless you are a robot. When I first unboxed this monitor I was greeted by secure packaging and all my components safely placed. Right away the monitor worked like a charm. People may say that there is lots of glare due to the glossy screen, but there is very little unless the monitor is facing a window. The screen is the perfect size for me. 23 inches is more than enough for an average gamer. If you think you need more it is unnecessary because you will have to move your head constantly. Pros: Large Fast Sleek Colorful Cons: No included VGA Cable NOTE: YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY YOUR OWN VGA CABLE IF YOU NEED ONE

IMO 1080p should be the standard res for all desktop monitors, so kudos there. That being said, I think that 23" is the largest size you should go for a 1080p monitor. The IPS panel gives great color accuracy and clarity as it should. For the price (I got it for around $115ish) it's the perfect monitor for introductory gamers or any computer enthusiast. My only concern would be glare on the glossy display, though I had no problem with it since my desk isn't near many windows, so there was not much direct light reflection. Overall great product. Good job Acer.

Acer - H6 Series 23" IPS LED HD Monitor - Black I've had this monitor for about a month now, and it has performed beautifully from the start. Large enough to expand all that tiny print from the web, but small enough to fit onto a desk without causing trouble. It stands 2 or 3 inches higher than my last one, so that there is no issue with stuff sitting on the desk. Although it does stand a little higher than my last monitor, it is very stable. There is no issue with it teetering around or being top-heavy which is something i thought about when i first put it together. The buttons are not conveniently placed by my definition, being underneath. You must either know just where to put your finger to push the off, or you must scrunch down to see. Eventually I'm sure I will become accustomed to its exact placement, but I'm still in the stage of pushing whatever other button that is right beside it. The button placement makes for a nice streamlined look, but I'd actually rather have the buttons right out there. I've used it with both the HDMI and the VGA adaptor cords, on two different computers, one a new computer just purchased, and one an older (6 years or so) computer. It performed beautifully on both, and in both cases setup was a matter of plugging it in, plugging the speakers in, and turning it on. The colors are good, the resolution is good, and the contrast makes reading easy. The screen itself is shiny rather than matte, yet there hasn't been a problem with a reflection causing any kind of problem. I was in the store when I chose it (rather than online) so I could see it in action, and I got this particular monitor because the contrast and colors overall were so much better than any of the other monitors, all of which had the matte screen. Whether the outstanding display is a function of the type of screen or is a result of the high quality of this monitor I don't know, but the result is a great viewing experience. This monitor is an excellent choice that has worked very well for me. From my experience so far, I expect this will last a very long time giving me good service the entire time.

I got this monitor on sale for $129, which seems like a great deal to me, especially for an IPS monitor, which I read is supposed to be a better quality than some other types of monitors out there. Like others have said, it does have a glare, but it doesn't seem too bad. The height is not adjustable, so that is a drawback. It was not too difficult too assemble, though it did take two of us and we were a little confused about what supposed to slip into where to lock, but it really only goes in one way, so it was OK. Otherwise, picture quality is good. So far, after about a month, I'm happy with it.

I was in need of a 1080p monitor - previous monitor was just 1333p - as I am getting ready to record Skype interviews and wanted great HiRez Video for editing. With both VGA and HDMI inputs, I am able to make full use of my video card with HD and HDMI. The clarity is just awesome. The size for my desk is just right. And I can make full use of Adobe CC products. And the price is right in my budget. For me it is a win-win!

This moniter turned out to be very clear Even though all Hdmi's only runs on 1920 x 1080. Have not tried dvi. this moniter well worth the price. No speakers, probley because clarity, the manufacturer thought desktop speakers would sound better, for a Gammer. and good price. Plug on back for headset if your video card supports sound hdmi older computers do not. plug speakers in to computer.

I looked at "the reviews before I went to the store and the Accer was in my price range and the reviews were very favorable. At the store, the Accer had the best picture of all monitors on display including models costing much more. I have had it about a month now and am very pleased. It even came with an HDMI cable. Great monitor.

If you want a monitor with a larger picture..this is the one to get. Has great color too.. Is very reasonably price also. Has some very cool settings that can change your viewing experience. Iv'e never had a widescreen before, and now I dont think I would buy anything but a widescreen from now on.

It is a nice looking monitor on a budget. I like that it actually comes with an hdmi cable instead of just the old vga cable. The only really complaint is that I wish it were brighter mostly because its really reflective because it is an IPS monitor. I like IPS monitors to begin with I just wished it were slightly brighter. Other than that its a great monitor for the price.

I previously purchased an ASUS 21.5 with low glare matte finish LCD. It had an awful white haze that I hated. Some people like it, I don't. So I returned that monitor and got this one. I decided to go a different route and try the glossy finish. Jackpot! The picture is better than I imagined it could be (especially when using the HDMI). At this point, I use the monitor mostly for entertainment and gaming so having that extra saturation, crispness and response time make all the difference. This monitor is perfect for gamers, graphic designers, or even to turn your laptop or computer into an entertainment center. I wouldn't recommend it for IT related work though because the matte finish can be tougher on the eyes when staring at the screen for long periods of time. My only complaint - the speakers on the monitor are kind of a joke, but I purchased a $15 set of speakers from Amazon Basics to account for this and I'm completely satisfied.
