This is a great tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Acer tablet is great and easy to use. Used it everyday searching the web. The color is good also. Sharp and clear. Tablet is not too heavy and easy to hold onto.

Great buy for low priced tablet.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the front facing speakers. Love the speed and vibrancy of this tablet. Play all of my favorite games, stream movies from dozens of apps without issue. Dislike the finger smudges, Zagg screen cover fixed that right up.

Well Balanced Entry Level Tablet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this review was a bit difficult for me as I had to consider the price point of the tablet. It clearly isn't flagship territory, but it is a tremendous value. There just aren't many 10" tablets that are well built below 200 dollars let alone one having 32 GBs of storage and I think that is the best thing that is going for the tablet. The performance is solid for basic tasks, but this is definitely not a gaming tablet even with a 720P screen you can notice performance is just good enough to be smooth experience for basic tasks like Email, Facebook, and Twitter. Another pleasant experience that I had was the dual front facing speakers. They may not be the loudest in the world, but they are well positioned to give the best experience that they can possibly deliver and my hats off to Acer for considering that. Camera quality was of the par for tablets. I wouldn't use it for more than a in a pinch shot, but it will do for Skype calls and various video chats. Happy to see Android 6.0 out of the box, and I hope to see it getting Android 7.0 in the pipeline for a relatively recent tablet. The battery stamina is fantastic. Stand-by time is among the best that I've ever seen on a tablet. Could be potentially due to a relatively weak processing package that was only moderately more powerful than a quite dated First Generation Nexus 7 and a little behind a 2013 Nexus 7 Second Generation, but for multimedia purposes works just fine. Standby time is around a week and screen on time is fantastic. Overall this is a great value tablet that is quite well rounded and doesn't have many issues. My biggest complaint is all the bloatware that comes preinstalled on the tablet that can intimidate first time Android users. Also it comes with a tablet stand so it is clearly aimed at watching videos.

Solid tablet for the money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your looking for a tablet with a display that will blow you away and blinding speeds that can play the most intense games, well, this is not the tablet for you. That being said, if you're looking for an entry level tab or an additional one for around the house, then this one will not disappoint you. I found this tab to be well built with a good selection of features. The size is good and it's relatively light for this class. I liked the feel of this tablet and it was at no time tedious to hold or use. The rounded back edge and coating allow it to be easily held and never feels as if it might slip out of your grip. The screen is gorilla glass and on top of that it has a special coating that resists finger prints and smudges. Battery life is really good even with the wi-fi on all the time. It comes with Android 6.0 and is uncluttered with an Acer version of interface. It seems to be a stock Android OS which is actually refreshing and keeps the tablet a bit more streamlined. The processor is adequate but won't win any speed records, however I never had any problems with it stuttering while playing video or browsing the web. It would have been nice if Acer had at least doubled up on the RAM and given it 2GB instead of only 1GB but they unfortunately chose the 1GB. This isn't a huge problem for the most part but you can see evidence of starving for memory when you have a handful of apps open and you're surfing. The tablet will start to lag and you'll notice that there will be delays between tapping a link and the browser actually going to the page. This speed can be slightly improved because Acer did see fit to include a memory cleaner that's accessible from the right hand menu button. It seems they knew that the lack of memory might be a problem but gave us a way to help the speed issue out. It comes with a huge amount of apps already pre-loaded. You'll find all the Google apps you could want, which is nice because it saves you from having to go look for them on the Play Store. It also comes with the Microsoft Office suite of apps which is very helpful and allows you to use the tablet for more than just fun stuff right out of the box. There's some game packages and kids apps that I didn't bother with but you might find them fun. It comes with the Acer Portal pre-loaded as well which is a suite of apps that allow you to access photos, music and files right on your laptop or desktop computer. Sort of a local cloud. This is a nice idea and if you've ever wanted to get files from your PC to your tablet it saves you the time of loading up one of the many file exploring apps that are available, and then setting it up to be able to browse your local network. The speakers are located on the left and right front edge (in landscape mode) and sound OK, but I did find them on the weak side and wished at several points that they would go louder than they were able to while watching movies. They can also be covered quite easily by your thumbs while your holding it which means you have to be conscious of you finger placement. Acer did include a small folding stand that works really well for landscape mode and helps to make finger placement a non issue. If they really bother you, you can use the headphone jack to connect your own ear buds instead. I used the pre-loaded Netflix app to stream some movies and the tablet had no trouble at all with this. Playback was very smooth and without any lag or stutters. The screen is only 1280 x 800 resolution, which these days is on the low side, but it is quite bright and the colors looked pretty good. In general I enjoyed watching video on it. It does come with two cameras. A 5MP front facing one and also a 2MP rearward one. While your not going to give Ansel Adams a run for his money with this resolution, they are both functional and come with camera options like panarama mode, HDR mode for low light situations, beauty face mode, etc.. You can also capture live video with it or use it to video chat. It has 32GB of on board storage and if that's not enough, there's an SD slot that will let you add up to 128GB more, which is huge. The memory card slot is under a protective cover which also houses an additional uUSB port and the camera lens. The cover sticks out a bit which some might find unattractive, but I found that gives you a nice finger grip that's usually missing on most tablets. I really like this tablet and even though it doesn't have options that will allow it to compete with the pricey models, it worked really well and had good battery life. For this level of tablet I was pleasantly surprised with it's performance and is great for a second tablet, one to hand to the kids, or even one to entertain yourself.

Very Nice Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up this tablet as an impulse buy replacement for a cracked screen unit. So far it's been a great addition to my tab collection which runs the gamut from 7"-10" Windows, Android, and IOS. I'm happy with it.

No frills but capable tablet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon opening the Acer Iconia One, I have to say that the casing it was manufactured with struck me as a benefit right away. It was not slippery in my hands, and that's a very important thing when using a touch device! I also was appreciative of the weight not being too heavy. It is very disappointing when using a tablet that is enough weight to make extended use a drag. My main interests were having a device with an easy to use interface that I could browse current websites, play casual games, watch/listen music and videos. This tablet was definitely capable of all the above. * The Microsoft Office apps that I subscribe to were already pre-installed, which was a nice convenience. I was connected with my cloud storage and viewing spreadsheets in a flash! * Using the Google Play store I was able to quickly locate my favorite social media apps and start looking at my timelines to see what my friends and family were up to * Integration into Gmail was instant when I initially setup the tablet and the app itself is a pleasure to use compared to other mail apps I've used in the past * Browsing using the Chrome browser was as enjoyable as on my desktop computer, but more comfortable when you're able to lay down on the couch easily * The screen is a very nice 10.1", which I actually feel is a sweet spot for this type of device. It gives enough space to browse websites in full mode, you can take advantage of multitasking better, and it is more immersive when watching movies As I was delighted to be able to do the tasks that I had initially expected to be able to do, there were a few things to note that are worth considering: * The speed of the tablet could at times be a little slow. Whether it was browsing a more intense website, or playing a game that required a little extra power, the smoothness of the touch scroll and responsiveness to touch could at times be delayed or staggered * The camera, although more than adequate for simple video conferencing or taking quick snapshots - I would not anticipate using this to take high quality pictures * Although I wrote the screen was a good size, the resolution is a little lower than I would like it to be. When reading news articles, sometimes my eyes got a little strained with the text clarity * The speakers produce a wide stereo sound which could be pretty immersive, however, the speakers themselves don't produce the biggest range In the end, a lot depends on your needs and expectations. If you're looking for a solid choice to do some office tasks and web browsing, you might find great value in this tablet. If you're looking for the speediest performance with possible gaming in mind, you might want to investigate higher models.

One of the best budget tablets around

Slow tablet, but good for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet caught my attention because of the price and screen size. After using it for about a week I realized that with its only 1gb of RAM it doesn't have enough power to run multiple applications. I kept finding myself having to go to the task manager to close applications that I had opened previously. I did return the tablet, but if you are only using the tablet for email, social media, or browsing the web then this tablet may not be a wrong choice. It seems to have a lot of good features going for it, Avery just needs to up the RAM in my opinion.
