Customers find value in the Nitro 15.6" gaming laptop's strong performance and impressive graphics capabilities, particularly at its price point. The 144Hz refresh rate and upgradeable RAM are also frequently praised. However, some users note that the fans can be loud and the battery life could be improved.

Wild amount of issues during 1y of use. When I first got it, I had to replace it because whenever I pressed the M and I key close together the laptop would shutdown, to bypass that I have to use an external keyboard. I got the chance to send it back and get another but I received a laptop with the same issue so I didn't bother sending it back again just to get another laptop with a broken keyboard. Applications love to freeze, gaming on it is a bit underwhelming. I get artifacts whenever I use a browser, desktop goes black except the apps sometimes.

I love this laptop! It's got a decently bright screen at around just under 300 Nits. While it won't be impressive outdoors, I found I was able to see it outdoors when the laptop is facing away from the sun or at a good angle. It's certainly better than my old gaming laptop where I had to squint to see the screen in the sun.
For the performance, it performs great. This particular model has an i7-13620H and an RTX 4060 laptop GPU. I was able to play Destiny 2 and GTA 5's mod FiveM on almost max settings with a decent frame rate. While most newer titles won't crack 60 on High or max, a lot of ESports titles and older games will likely run on high/max at a decent frame rate.
The display does run up to 144Hz but can be set to Dynamic to automatically adjust for gaming and power saving. The battery life is okayish. It has a 57 Whr battery. On max brightness it would be at around 40-50 percent in about an hour to an hour and a half. So it's pretty average which is to be expected, after all it is a gaming laptop.
The last point I will make is that the keyboard is fully backlit but only white backlit. No RGB on this model, which for me is fine since I like to have a steady and static color at night for my view of the keyboard.
Bonus: This model from Best Buy (US) has a laptop sleeve in the box as I found out when opening it for the first time and accessories from Acer.com are really cheap even replacement chargers.

I was honestly a little surprised at how well this system performed. I have a Dell G15 that’s about a year old and quickly have moved to using this laptop almost exclusively. The screen has a depth of color that’s richer than my other and the overall thermals seem to be better managed as I notice that the fans don’t spin up nearly as high when playing the same game. I can’t speak to battery life but would assume it’s similar to most in that it gets you by but won’t last for an entire day of meetings or such.
Performance wise I enjoyed the 4060 as it’s plenty powerful for the resolution of the screen. I ran it through its paces through several of my games and experienced no issues and was able to run most settings on high for things like Apex Legends and Helldivers2.
Overall impressions is that the case is fairly plastic based. You can tell the difference between the Nitro and the Helios but the matte black appearance keeps it fairly low key. There’s no mistaking it as anything other than a gaming laptop but it’s a nicely put together piece of kit and everything appears well made. I didn’t notice any huge amounts of flexing of parts. As most laptops there was one hot spot of backlight bleed near the bottom edge but that’s generally always the case with systems securing their screen to such a small bezel. I never noticed it outside of a completely black screen. Touch pad is super responsive and I was able to easily play something like Night Crows without feeling like I was hampered without a mouse.

The Acer Nitro 5 is my first gaming laptop, and I was very impressed with its overall performance. It delivers smooth gameplay, fast program execution, and handles both work-related tasks and everyday use with ease. For its price point, the hardware power and speed are excellent, making it a strong option in the entry-to-mid gaming laptop category.
The main drawback is the battery life, which is quite limited and requires the laptop to remain plugged in most of the time. In my experience, even when the fans are off and the system is under light use, the battery still drains quickly. Additionally, my first unit arrived with a defect and had to be sent for service. While this issue was resolved, it was disappointing for a first experience with this product line.
In conclusion, the Acer Nitro 5 offers excellent performance and value for its capabilities, but buyers should be aware of its weak battery life and the possibility of quality control issues.

I love this thing. I havent gamed in years bearly a decade really. I was in the store looking at another laptop, then an accosiate came over to assist me and suggested i spend a little more for this one. Better graphics card, double the ram, better processer just all around better. So far on any game i have played i have the graphics maxed out and it runs great! Fans a little loud but thats expected to help keep things cool. Battery life isnt that good if your gaming but it takes power to run games. Over all amazing product i love it!

I wanted to upgrade to a gaming laptop before the price of everything goes up, and this one had a lot of what I was looking for.
It is huge, much bigger than I was thinking. A lot of the reviews I read mentioned that the fan on this laptop was very loud, but I found it to be about on par with my old Dell, not abnormally loud.
The screen is big, and the display is beautiful. The speakers worked fine and did the camera and built in microphone.
It connected easily to my wifi (I saw someone who had trouble with that, but mine worked right off the bat.)
My biggest issues were that none of the keys were where I expected them to be - it's a different set up than my keyboard for my PC and my previous laptop, and that it didn't seem to be able to handle the games I wanted to play on it. I'm also very used to a touch screen, and it turns out you can't really get a touch screen on a gaming laptop for less than 2 grand, which means I'll just have to get over that. The screen did freeze a few times when I tried to play some heavier games and my instinct was to touch the screen and of course that did nothing.
I'm returning it, because it was meant to be an investment, and it's just not hitting the benchmarks I need it to. Even on sale it's a bit too pricey to keep if you don't absolutely love it. That being said if you're not running anything too powerful on it, it plays great. It loaded up some of my simpler games perfectly well - Stardew, Coin Crypt, etc.
The battery only lasted a couple of hours when not hooked up. It was a very secure connection with the charger, usually I'm used to that being much looser, and I think the port is less likely to get damaged that way.
Overall a solid purchase, just not for me!

I’ve been using the Racer Nitro 15 for a few weeks now, and I have to say, it’s exceeded my expectations in just about every way. From performance to design, it delivers a well-rounded experience that’s hard to beat at this price point.
Performance:
Powered by a high-performance processor and a solid graphics card, the Nitro 15 handles everything I throw at it—whether it’s AAA gaming, video editing, or multitasking with heavy apps. The thermals are well managed, and the fans, while audible during intense sessions, never get too distracting.
Display:
The 15.6” Full HD display is vibrant and smooth, especially with the high refresh rate. Whether you’re gaming or streaming, visuals look crisp, and the color reproduction is great for both play and creative work.
Design & Build:
The Nitro 15 has a sleek, aggressive design that screams performance. It’s surprisingly lightweight for a gaming laptop, and the RGB keyboard is a nice touch—customizable and responsive. The build feels durable, and the port selection is generous.
Battery Life:
Gaming laptops aren’t known for long battery life, but the Nitro 15 holds up decently during regular use—web browsing, light editing, and media playback—giving around 5-6 hours depending on usage.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, the Racer Nitro 15 is an excellent choice for gamers, students, and professionals who need power without breaking the bank. It’s reliable, stylish, and delivers top-notch performance for its category. Highly recommended!

Decent Bang For Your Buck!

The Acer Nitro V ANV15-51-789J Laptop is a solid choice for gamers seeking an affordable option with decent build quality. Despite its mostly plastic case, it feels sturdy, though the smooth finish on top can be a bit sharp. The laptop felt substantial but not overly heavy.
The screen was a highlight for me, but only for gaming, thanks to its fantastic refresh rate. It's worth noting that text can appear blurry for other tasks besides gaming. On the audio front, the laptop delivers impressive sound quality for its mid-range status, although I personally prefer using headphones for a more immersive experience.
In terms of gaming performance, Dead Space looked impressive on the IPS screen, with darks remaining detailed and not overly crushed. While navigating the system, there were occasional hiccups, but gameplay in Madden was smooth with good player control.
Connecting external displays can be hit or miss, particularly with Thunderbolt displays on Intel systems. While I was unable to connect to an LG 5K Thunderbolt Display, HDMI connections to 4K displays produced fantastic results.
Performance-wise, the laptop delivers solid results, scoring well on benchmarks. The Nova Bench score of 3197 places it among the top 93% of PCs, while the Nero score of 3831 further shows its a decent bang for the buck, but isn't a rig that you're going to brag to your friends about.
Overall, the Acer Nitro V ANV15-51-789J offers decent gaming performance and build quality at an accessible price point, making it a compelling choice for gamers on a budget.

Why you should get a acer nitro 5

The Acer Nitro 5 is a solid, budget-friendly gaming laptop that offers great value for money. It features a bold, gamer-centric design with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, often boasting a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming performance. Powered by Intel or AMD processors and paired with NVIDIA GTX/RTX graphics, it handles modern games like Call of Duty and Fortnite well on medium to high settings. The backlit keyboard is comfortable for both gaming and typing, while the cooling system efficiently keeps the laptop from overheating during extended use. Battery life is average, lasting around 4-6 hours under normal use, but gaming drains it faster. The build is plastic, which feels durable but not premium, and it's slightly heavier than other laptops. The trackpad is small, but the keyboard and cooling system make up for this. It includes a variety of ports like USB 3.0, USB-C, Ethernet, and HDMI, as well as Wi-Fi 6 for fast wireless connections. Overall, the Nitro 5 is a well-rounded gaming laptop with impressive performance at an affordable price, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious gamers.
