Customers are pleased with the Nitro 5's performance, graphics capabilities, and price, frequently citing its ability to run games smoothly and its good value for the money. However, some users experienced issues with battery life, keyboard backlight functionality, and occasional fan noise. While many found the build quality to be satisfactory and appreciated the upgradability options, concerns regarding heat generation were also noted.

This gaming laptop far exceeded my expectations. It runs amazingly and has a high FPS on bigger games like Horizon Zero Dawn. It doesn't stay charged for long when not plugged in but mine is always plugged in so I do not have an issue with it.

the laptop itself is not bad overall, but the pricing is not what i would like it to be. i believe i got it on a sale for about 900 in december 2021. i think a good deal price range would be around 800.
granted, this does come with 16 GB RAM and a non-256GB drive. however, for those who are willing and able, buying your own storage or RAM is almost always cheaper and can offer better performance. one good thing about the acer nitro 5 lineup is that they support a total of two m.2 drives and a SATA drive.
the screen does not ghost badly, meaning it might ghost a little bit, but not noticeable to me. there is a small amount of backlight bleed in the screen as well.
the laptop is heavy enough such that when opening the lid, you do not need to hold down the bottom half of the laptop. but perhaps this goes for almost all gaming laptops?
the keyboard is dependent on your personal tastes. the keys are backlit, and have a slightly blocky gamer font (it's not the worst i've seen).
the function row has functions to change the brightness of the backlighting on the keys, there is one to mute the microphone (but i have never tried using it), there is also one to mute the speakers, and when done, a little white LED lights up on the key. same goes for the caps lock key (small white LED).
it is hard for me to tell you how loud the fans are because i do not have any comparison. they are louder than a non-gaming business laptop, but not so loud that you can't hear anything through headphones. acer nitro laptops come with software to configure the fans. look up nitrosense for more details.
the usb-c port does not support video out.
the chassis is an improvement over the previous acer nitro 5, as the red plastic on the very back is no longer a bright plastic red, it is a more refined and shiny (kind of like a car) and darker red.
the touchpad also no longer has a red outline, which makes for a more simple or minimalistic look.
windows 11 is weird, but like it or not, it's here to stay. it does some things that windows 10 was supposed to do but failed to do, namely, the settings menu. more settings are actually in their modern settings menu and not in the windows 7 control panel, although the most useful settings (in my opinion) are still under windows 7 control panel.
as for the specs themselves, look up a review on the 3050TI.

A Really Solid Gaming Laptop

I am very pleased I got this one. This is My first gaming laptop, and it works really well. I would recomend upgrading the Memory to either a 2.5 SSD, or a 3x4 SSD. Upgradeing is very easy and makes laptop run great. Also would recomend getting a laptop fan as this does get very warm. Only have two games that push the heat up. Learning to use this computer is easy, as for I am a newbie. Sound is good for Me, Screen looks great in games and movies. I am very happy I bought this one.

This was a gift for our teenage son. It met all of the criteria we were looking for in terms of a decent entry-level (maybe mid-level) gaming laptop. It even has some upgrades options when considering adding an internal HDD. We found it on sale for $899 which was great. It can run a bit hot so we bought a laptop cooler and so far there’s been no issues and our son loves it!
We wanted to be able to set it up with an additional monitor and benefit from the G-SYNC compatibility (Nvidia 3050ti) but found that it requires the DisplayPort to be running directly from the Nvidia video card instead of the integrated graphics card, which it doesn’t. That’s our only minor complaint so far. The only other thing to note is that when you plug the power adapter into the back of the laptop you have to push it in quite hard for it to click in place. Our son couldn’t get it to power up until we noticed that it needed to be pushed in with more force than you’d expect. If you intend to game on it without it being connected to power don’t expect to do so for very long, maybe a couple hours tops depending on the game.

This is an amazing gaming laptop for the money I would highly recommend it. I have looked everywhere and you're not going to get a better deal than this unless you buy a pc. I can get stable 144 fps on most games including Val, Fortnite, Apex and more. I got it for 200 dollars off which even sweetened the deal more than it already was. The only thing you really need with this is a laptop pad to cool it down since there is a i7 in it, it gets pretty hot so if you're willing to spend more money with for an i7 its worth it but the i5 is a really good option too that saves you money.

A great affordable gaming laptop that packs some power. However, a bit flimsy, parts are a bit cheaper than other gaming laptops. Seems to be well ventilated.

For the price it is a good first time gaming laptop. It runs smoothy, and graphics are pretty good. My only complaint and why I dont give it 5 stars is because the speaker volume is so low. I have it on the highest setting and its still hard to hear streams at times. You defintely would need a set of headphones with this laptop if you watch any streamers or want to watch a show/movie on it. Other than that its a nice gaming laptop.
