It does get hot while playing game but I think its because its keeping it cool. Plus the battery wears faster while hot. Overall the computer is fast and smooth on graphics.

Bought this Acer Nitro 15.6 laptop because I needed gaming capabilities. I chose the model with the AMD Ryzen 5 processor because it was out performing the Intel 5 processor model. It has been running the game I play flawlessly. I am satisfied with my choice. This laptop is my second Acer laptop. My first Acer didn't have the specs required for gaming, but I still use that for all my other computing needs. It is several years old and I have never had a problem with it. I am using the new Nitro for strictly gaming.

I recently sent my daughter's laptop away for repairs. Best Buy decided to replace it instead, in the form of a voucher. She really wanted a gaming laptop. We looked around and found this one. While we did have to pay a remaining balance (voucher only covered half), after seeing this thing in action, I would gladly pay full price for it. As for specifics, I don't have much to say as it is my daughter's computer. However, if you're in the market for a gaming laptop this would definitely be a good one to start out with.

Bought this for the gf. She wanted a gaming computer. Got this to save on some money. Works great! Would definitely suggest for someone looking for a gaming laptop.

I made tons of research before buying this product since it was sold with two different processors AMD and intel core. AMD Ryzen 5 seemed to outperform the intel core i5 in the Accer Nitro. Better frame rates and gaming experience overall. This specific model exceeds it's own expectations. Best Value out there for an entry gaming laptop.

Light weight, powerful and great for games - after you upgrade the memory to 16GB or better. Add a HDD also for additional storage of music, pics, and game files.

This laptop is such a good deal for it's price. AMD's new 4000 series APU is incredibly fast. The keyboard feels SOLID and is not flimsy. Startup is about 6 seconds. The trackpad could be better, but it's not bad. The colors on the monitor feels pretty warm and some colors do pop out. I do have a color deficiency, so my perspective is different. I just want to add that this Laptop is a great deal for it's price. there are other laptops at this price range with lower specs. The laptop feels durable and although it isn't very thin, I like the design and feel it has.

So, yes, this is a great laptop for those just getting into PC gaming. This was my first gaming PC and I chose a laptop for the portability. The specs seemed pretty good for something a little more portable than my XBOX so I gave it a go. I must say I am very impressed with this laptop. Running games on high gives you a pretty good experience at a good price point. If you don't need a laptop, I would highly recommend just getting a desktop system and spending a little extra money. I also recommend getting a external SSD as the 256GB doesn't hold much in the way of gaming.

I use this mostly when I'm not home and away from my desktop. I take it to work mainly these days. Great laptop for the price, good for light gaming and work productivity (internet + office). Have had a few issues at times where a game will take forever to load, but usually things are quick and snappy on there. I do not do anything graphically intensive on here. Fans are not loud when they are on full blast (rarely do they ever need to go that fast).

Its been almost a month having this computer and honestly the specs and how it runs is amazing for the price. I bought this laptop for video editing on premiere pro and after effects and it runs perfectly. Id high recommend getting this laptop. Intel 5 or Ryzen 5 either one works. For gaming you can run fortnite on average settings at 200 fps+. krunker 60 fps+ minecraft 60 fps +.

Great laptop. The design is very sharp. I like the keyboard. I can play most of the games with this laptop. Low budget.

I did not buy this for gaming and I was a little apprehensive about buying this kind of computer (it was my first time buying such a flashy laptop). Well, I was wrong to be concerned, the computer is smooth, cool and super fast. No problems whatsoever so far. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend this product wholeheartedly even if you are not a gamer. The webcam is not the greatest and the sound could be better, but that is easily fixable. You also get plenty of room to upgrade in terms of RAM memory and SDD drives so what is not to like!

i liked it out the box. but it had some issues right out the box. i wasnt able to do twitch streaming through it until i upgraded to 32gb ram. the storage is also lackluster so i ended up getting two 1tb m.2 ssd's and a terrabyte sata drive.the computer is definitely friendly to people trying to upgrade it its a shame i can't upgrade the cpu or gpu if i wanted to... the only thing is the screen isnt the best. but i can fix that with an upgrade as well. for 700$ its goodbut you gotta put in some more and some tlc and you'll get something great!

You're not going to be running brand new AAA games on Ultra, but you get an incredible experience for the money. Relatively easy to upgrade if you know what you're doing (or have access to YouTube videos of people who know what they're doing). I've put in a HDD and an extra stick of RAM with no issues. Note: I did purchase this on sale, but it would have still been a good deal otherwise.

Plays anything at 1080 with decent frames. Killer processor for the price, and space to put 2 additional storage drives, and another stick of RAM

its a nice mid range gaming laptop, 2 things 2 note out of the box its already on nvidia gpu but if you install the Radeon software you lose nvidia as far as I can tell there is no way to switch between them. a good app too have with this laptop or any laptop with a ryzen 4x is the Ryzen Controller when on battery you can make the laptop use only 15watts which makes the battery last longer, and a 2nd note make sure too get a 2nd ssd or hd for games and get 16gb of ram at 3200 ryzen loves fast ram.

I am in love with this laptop it is absolutely amazing. Reviewers on YouTube really bashed it but you really don't know what its like till you have it ion hand. One of the main issues i'm seeing is people saying that this thing doesn't power on I don't know what acer doesn't put this into their description but, THE CHARGER HAS TO BE FLUSH WITH THE BODY OF THE LAPTOP WHEN PLUGGED IN. I did this when i got it and it turned on the first time for me. I was dissapointed that the screen wasn't 144 hertz, however I am no hardcore gamer so the 60 hertz was quite fine. This thing runs games like GTA 5 really great at mediumish settings at 60 Fps but games like warzone cause it to heat up so all i did was elevate it with a book or something and put the fans on max and it was quite fine. I've had no problems so far and I am just happy that I could get a CPU this good which beats out more expensive intel chipsets.

I'm a casual gamer, and the Nitro 5 was just what I was looking. I can play all the up to date games, and it didn't break the bank.
