Great Laptop for School, Wrong Stock Photo

I went with a budget gaming laptop because of the value you get for a reasonable price. Specs are great for $619.99 + tax (price I paid on Jan 24, 2020) online. AMD Ryzen 7 processor, AMD RX560X Graphics, 8GB DDR4 RAM (upgradeable to 32GB), 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD (extra M.2 slot of more storage if you want). However, although these are EXCELLENT specs for school/home/office use, they are lower mid-range for gaming. Overall I love it! But..... A couple of things to "clarify" that Bestbuy got incorrect: 1.) The stock photo they have for this model, AN515-43-R1QT, is the WRONG photo!!!!! They are showing the 1st generation Acer Nitro 5 laptop. That one has the larger bezels around the screen, different I/O ports (old one has a card reader slot), and different vent locations and access doors on bottom for upgrading RAM and 2.5" SATA hard drive. This is the newer Nitro 5 with the smaller screen bezels (which is a lot nicer in my opinion). 2.) They have this Ryzen 7 processor listed in the expanded description as an 8-core, 16 thread processor which it definitely is not! The Ryzen 7 processor in this laptop is A Ryzen 7 3750U which is a 4-core, 8 thread processor. I would overall HIGHLY recommend this laptop because of the value, and not so much the "Gaming" specs. Although, these are solid middle of the road gaming specs which make many modern games playable on Low,Mid,and High range settings.

It is a good gaming laptop. The price was reasonable. It stopped working after the warranty expired. It was not worth getting it repaired. I had to buy another gaming laptop. I chose a different gaming laptop to buy because I did not want to take the risk.

Awesome game laptop

I only played fornite and some games for check how is working and I don’t have any problems with them. I also add a 8G Ram and 2T hard disc.

I got this laptop after extensive consultation with the Best Buy guys because the graphics card would allow me to edit simple home movies. I don't like that simple things like changing volume or screen brightness require multiple buttons. Also, sound not great on its own (without headphones). And MOST DISAPPOINTING -- no SD card slot. What??? What a bust. If you want to do more than play video games -- get something else for comparable or lower price.

Regarding audio, most laptops have smaller wattage speakers, which while they produce audio, it may not be as robust as expected. In those cases most users will use external powered speakers when not using it on the go.

Great laptop at great price

Upgrade to dual channel 16gb ram and installed 2 tb hard drive. Runs a lot of games better than expected can play a lot of games on ultra at or slightly over 60 fps

With a 500gb SSD, you get plenty of storage, and the expected in crease in speed compared with traditional disk HDD.

I was looking for something to run some high end games, but not be stuff paying top price or having to get a stationary laptop. It has built in Nitrosense fans to keep the PC cool when gaming hours at a time.

Don't waste ur money

I bought this in Feb 2020 and it died out of the blue 9 month later it shut off and died and now won't turn back on. Acer says the will "fix it" but now replace it. I spentore than $700 on a computer that didn't last a year!! Are you kidding me!!
