    Powerful Laptop Great Price!

I bought this laptop for gaming when I travel. I play an MMO so when I travel for work it's nice to be able to log in a few hours in a dungeon or leveling an Alt. My last laptop was ok but I played at a steady 20fps. The Acer Nitro is a completely different story. This thing is a beast and out performs my old laptop by 1000%! I am able to maintain 50fps on a World Boss/Capital Cities in WoW and I maintain 75-90fps in open world. I was able to maintain 60fps in PuBG on medium graphics as well. The laptop has a good feel and is full HD (1080p). I am very happy with this purchase!

    Good budget gaming laptop

Overall a nice laptop. Keyboard is lit in red. Has all necessary ports, an HD webcam, and good Wi-Fi. Display is 1080p and I didn't have any problems with it. The games I played ran smoothly on 1080p with high settings. The only drawback is the very slow hard drive. Even though it is 1TB and has plenty of space, I replaced it with a 512GB SSD, which improved the laptop's performance significantly - a must upgrade.

    Good for gaming

It has always blown my mind how my MacBook Pro for work is so powerful and so fast, but yet gaming on it is a total waste of time. I bought this Acer so I could play RTS games and it has not disappointed. It does run slow, but all windows based machines do, unless your paying way more than you need too. But this Acer is perfect for the beginner gamer or weekend warrior like me. I would buy an Acer Nitro again in the future.

I really love my new Acer Nitro 5. It's fast the graphics are wonderful and hook to my Bose speakers has great sound the only thing that I would improve on it is C power chord when you plug it into the wall and you're using the laptop the power box gets extremely hot. Hope they correct that

    IMPRESSIVE ACER LAPTOP!

    Posted .

Right out of the box, I was impressed with the Acer - Nitro 5 15.6" Laptop. Packaging was simple and complete. The initial setup was so easy a child could do it! There were very few "choices" that I had to make during setup, which is always appreciated! The system is very attractive with it's black case and red highlights. The graphics are crystal clear and amazing! I had to buy a Mouse since I really dislike "touchpads", but once attached, I had no problems with maneuvering around the keyboard and screen/apps. I was very impressed with the speed of the system .... refresh rate on graphics and jumping screen-to-screen was great! The system includes plenty of USB ports - which is sometimes lacking in other systems. I look forward to taking this system "on the road" to see how it performs in hotels, etc.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a good budget gaming laptop that will satisfy casual gamers and those targeting a smaller budget. Good for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, photo editing, and video playback. Build quality is good for an all-plastic laptop. I personally did not satisfy the weight and the thickness of the laptop.

Haven't had issues at all since swapping over from the AMD GPU (which gave me issues trying to update the driver, then started giving me random black screens on bootup -- both of which happened in the first 10 days of ownership -- so I traded it in for the nvidia one). I feel I could use more memory but that can be fixed later when I really feel the crunch. Definitely see why it's been on multiple "best budget gaming laptop" lists on the internet.

    Great entry level gaming Laptop

This has served its purpose so far and has only locked up on me a couple of times. I stream league and that's heavily tied to the consoles ability to handle frame rate and internet and so far it hits the markers. I haven't tried VR on it yet but it says it set up for Oculus.

Good, but watch out for the fan

I don't know how much credit my review can really get since I planned to and immediately replaced the mechanical drive in it with a solid drive, but it works great...aside from the cooling fan. (I had to go to settings and add a limit to how much RAM the computer can be pumping out at once in order to prevent overheating...even if I am just leaving the computer on at night, not running anything intensive. Thankfully this took a simple google search and was easy to do.)

I have only had this computer for a few weeks and haven't used a lot of the features yet. The only thing I don't like are the Window tiles, I prefer a standard desktop view. I don't game, just email, web browsing and online classes and the picture is great and I really like the keyboard back-lighting.

Not enough memory for the price paid. Cooling system wasn't as good as expected. Slow processor. Would look else where for my next gaming laptop.

    Great computer for the price

It’s a great computer. Can handle a lot of video and graphics. It is not always fast on hard drive issues. The Windows updates take a while. But stick with it, they will help it work better. I got the 1 TB because I knew Windows 2010, MS Office 365 and Adobe suite take a lot of space. Other wise I would have gotten the solid state hard drive. For the price and what you can do with this computer, it’s worthy. Sound is not very loud. You’ll want to use headphones for better sound.

Decent laptop for school work and light gaming

I bought this laptop for my nephew. It did not boot up as fast I expected for Windows 10. The touchpad did not work after installation. After reading the issue on the Internet, we have to enable touchpad manually. Not sure whether this was disabled for any reason. Overall, it is a decent laptop for his school work and light gaming activities.

This is my first Windows 10 anyting, it's amazing how Cortana vocally walks me through opening setup it's even more amazing that Windows let me install a Windows Launcher on my phone that can ask my laptop with my phone. Oh yeah and it's a gaming laptop too. From my Origin account I installed Mass Effect 1 2 and 3 and I don't even remember that game looking at good but that game looks very good. This is definitely a good laptop to buy for gaming and who knew that's not the only thing you could do.

    Great Beginner Gaming Laptop, However...

The battery. It's just terrible. Battery does not last long and you probably need to keep it charged. It sucks, because it's such a great laptop with a good processor and graphic card. The battery life.... is just bad. Definitely a good beginner gaming laptop to purchase. 120 FPS Overwatch on High settings About 75-80 FPS on Ultra settings Overall, very good graphics and FPS. You don't really need to run any game on Ultra or higher, honestly. NOTE: You also need to be plugged in, inorder to have the 60+ FPS.

the two reasons why I did not give this a 5 star rating is #1. my num doesn't work, it will when i first turn it on, if i want to use it while online it will not work. #2 edge keeps changing my home page and i have go in everytime and change it.

Purchased this laptop for my son to play games on. His previous laptop was a Lenovo, which had too much lag. after a year of complaining to me I finally decided to make the change for him. My son is extremely happy with this laptop thus far and I am happy with the price I paid.
