Bought this for my wife to replace her old ASUS G73JH. For the price, this thing is really an incredible value. It runs everything at 60+ fps with ease. The size is just about perfect balance for portability and a very satisfying and cinematic gaming experience. We have been very satisfied with our purchase. I may even get one for myself. And not to mention, it looks great. Very sleek and cool. Overall build quality is acceptable. It's not built like a tank or anything like that. We've noticed a couple of less than amazing things about it, for instance, I installed a spare HDD from her old computer for the extra storage, And if you push too hard on the top side of the palm rest, it will rub the HDD as it spins. You do have to press fairly hard to make it happen though. And it has not been an issue as it requires more force than you're naturally going to put on it. If you run only SSD's, you have zero to worry about here. I think the poorest design choice in this laptop, had to be the location of the power adapter input... It's smack dab in the center on the right side. It's just weird. I'm not sure why on earth they'd do that instead of putting it on the back corner or on the back of the laptop somewhere. With most laptops you dont have to think about where the cord is running after you plug it in. With this one, since its so far up on the laptop, you may have to move the cord to where your laptop isnt setting on it or something like that. It's kind of a nonissue, but at the same time its just a silly thing you really shouldn't need to think about at all, had they just placed the input in a normal thoughtful position. The power cord male end has a 90 degree angle so it keeps it out of the way, but still.. it's just odd. If you ever have to replace the power adapter, you'd better make sure it has that 90 degree bend because a straight plug would be a nuisance to your mouse hand if you're right handed. Battery life is about what you'd expect. It's a high powered gaming PC crammed into a small form factor. So poor battery times are to be expected compared to something like a chromebook or your average run of the mill laptop. Overall, I absolutely recommend this laptop. For the price you're not going to beat it. I do recommend using an SSD for the second drive slot to avoid the above mentioned flaw.

This laptop is great. With a little bit of software tweaking, it is more than capable of running games. Destiny 2, Starcraft 2, Sea of Thieves, Halo MCC. All these games run perfectly with medium to highest settings at a full 60fps. The i5 processor is extremely underrated, being able to over lock itself without the user having to do anything (mine goes up to 4gHz) You are able to easily open up the computer and add in some extra RAM and a HDD to maximize every day use ability. The gtx 1050 is great, though it only had 3G of VRAM, which can bottleneck your quality in titles like Call of Duty, etc. otherwise it is a very capable processor for most games you will try to run. The cons: The battery life is not too great overall. If you stay plugged in, you won’t have a problem, but while gaming, you shouldn’t leave it unplugged for more than 30 minutes or so even with the “balanced” battery mode. The temperatures tend to get high quite easily in this laptop. Even while keeping the “coolboost” function on, temperatures can easily go over 190°f and even top 200°f while plugged in. Of course, temperatures are much lower while on battery power, but seeing as you can only sustain battery power for 30-45min while gaming, you’d have constant high temps during sustained gaming. Overall- I love the laptop. I bought a cooling pad to go along with it but the temps still get regularly high. My graphics settings are on par with people who’ve spend $1500+ on their gaming setup and I believe this is the best gaming computer for its price on the market, hands down.

This is an outstanding 15.6” gaming laptop. It’s really fast even though it only has 8GB RAM. No lags at full load (game and multiple applications opened)Games run smoothly with no lag in video because of the dedicated video card GTX 1050. The screen is nice and bright without the glare some have. It is not a touch screen which is a bummer for my liking. It does heat up significantly under full load but it’s got very good ventilation. I wouldn’t hold it in my lap when playing. It’s also bulkier and heavier than other gaming laptops in this range. However it’s more affordable. It’s easily upgradable and has a full keyboard (number pad) and lit with red color but It’s not customizable. It boots up in less than 5 seconds!!! Overall awesome gaming laptop. Definitely recommend it.

We purchased two of these to free up our other laptops for work only (it's quarantine time thus our computers are getting more work than ever). It is nice to have a gaming computer that does not overheat. The battery life is shorter than what we like but really that's not much of a problem since we can play and charge at the same time. The graphics have been fine and any lag time we've had has been due to internet problems. It is a heavy laptop, so I would not recommend it for work or school or anything that require taking it places daily. The lack of battery life would also discourage traveling with it.

This was a Christmas gift for my 11yo son. He was very happy and excited when he first opened the box. He usually gets hand me down from his older sibling or share the computer at home with the rest of the family. I believe that now he is old enough its time to get him his own laptop. This computer is more than what we have expected. It’s very fast and responsive. The picture is so clear. It can handle multiple tasks at the same time. My son loves the way this computer looks like as well. The lit keyboards, color and the shape. He uses it mainly for playing Fortnite and doing homework on Google Classroom. He said it’s never froze one bit while he’s playing unlike the family shared pc at home. It can connect to multiple screens as well. I would say that with the specs this pc have and the price when we got it on sale is well worth it! This pc should last him all the way to high school. I plan on adding more memory & maybe bigger hard drive to it soon. Not really necessary but why not? It’ll need it anyway once my son figure out its full potential. It currently has 8gb ram and 256SSD. Another 8gb ram & 1TB will definitely make this pc even more robust and not run out of space. Overall, I highly recommend this pc for students, beginners to mid-level gamers and to parents who would like to get their kids a good laptop that would actually last them awhile but not break the bank.

I bought this Acer nitro on sale for $599, has a really fast I5 chip in it, I did however add another 8gb of ram into it, I am not a heavy gamer and it speeds through everything I do with it, for the price you really can't beat this laptop only downfall is the RGB backlight keyboard won't stay on but 30 seconds if you quit using the keyboard, it auto shuts the backlight keyboard off and I find myself hitting the spacebar often when I am in a darkroom lighting up the keyboard.

The only thing you might need to do is to get an extra RAM memory (to my taste and need) and also upgrade the storage. You get an extended slot for extra storage. I got a 1TB SSD disk and easy to install in. Now I get the perfect machine. Compared to other brand, this one doesn't have the short lags from time to time. Just smooth and nice. I got Linux (Mint) installed on one of them (I bought 2) and not surprisingly, it is performing smoother and faster than Win10. I recommend getting it for the nice price offered. Very good deal.

I love this laptop, been needing a new one for work and also has the added bonus of being able to game. Performance is great and is able to handle all but the newest graphic intensive games on high setting. Love the lighted keyboard but does not stay on for more than 30 seconds when left alone due to a recent update in bios. They need to change this back to give you the option to turn on all the time. Overall I'm very satisfied and so is my granddaughter who also picked out this one also.

My dog pulled my old laptop off the table and broke the charging port from the motherboard. I bought this to replace it. It doesn’t come with a lot of storage but there’s room for 2 hard drives inside and another m.2 as well. I added a TB SSD and bumped the ram up to 32 gigs. This thing flies and boots in seconds. For normal use it uses the onboard graphics chip and for gaming or videos it switches to the 1050, which is amazing.

I wanted a new laptop that was fast to start up and sync my phone. I also wanted a laptop that I could upgrade later when it was needed. This beauty fit the bill and was a bargain for the price. Fast machine with great graphics and the ability to add memory as well as another hard drive. Set up was quick and easy. Great computer.

I chose this laptop because it has the most, and easiest options for upgrading memory and storage in its price range. It starts up quickly, and the processor and video card are powerful enough to do my video editing projects, although not with the speed of my desktop. I'm not a gamer, but based on the video editing capabilities I'm assuming it will handle all but the most demanding games. So far the battery life has been very good, but it varies greatly depending on what you're putting it through. The number keypad is slightly smaller than standard, which took a little getting used to, but it's much better than not having a number keypad at all. I love the backlit keyboard, and lots of USB ports, including a USB-C, which allows for lots of high speed expansion. It surprises me that they didn't include a media card reader, but I guess you can't put everything in a moderately priced laptop (I got a USB 3.1 card reader online for less than $20, and its very fast). If I were to buy a laptop off the shelf with the specs it has now it would have cost me 50% more, so I'm very happy with the purchase.

Very happy with the Acer Nitro 15.6" laptop so far. The red back-lit keyboard takes a little getting used to. Have plenty of power and a good video card for gaming should I decide to use it this way. Starts up very quickly. Zoom sessions show that the camera works very well. I feel like I got a lot for my money.

I Played World of Warcraft And Diablo for Over 10 years, than my wife had our son in 2017 and I had to quite playing. I bought this little gem in mid March 2020, Pre Covid-19 lockdaown and started playing again and man does it deliver. Runs both games so smooth and so crisp, max graphics and FPS over 100. The graphics are top notch, SSD is lightning quick, sound is great. The light up keyboard is very sturdy and smooth. Perfect amount of ram and heat venting is excellent. For the price this thing is worth every penny. I don’t play COD or fortnight so I have no input on specs for those games but for the games I play this if for sure a 9.75 out of 10!!!

I live this laptop! I havnt had any problems so far, the graphics and picture clarity are insanely good. The speed is really fast and having the 2 slots to upgrade your ram from 8 to 32 is a great option. This is all around good buy for beginner/intermediate gamers.

I got this PC on Christmas, and while it's not the first laptop I've owned, it is the first gaming one I've had Now, it's only been a bit over a week, but I've already gotten so much use out of it. It has 238 GB of ram and runs faster than your average laptop, often times I never hear the internal fan when I'm gaming. The glowing keyboard serves as both a helpful tool for usage in the dark and a cool aesthetic. I'd consider it a much better gaming laptop for first-time owners then some others because of its price and relative ease to use. The camera, while most won't get a lot of use out of it, has relatively good quality, and the mic, while not perfect, sounds alright enough. This is the perfect gaming laptop for beginners and even those who have experience playing on PC.

I purchased this laptop mainly for being a first time streamer who didnt want to spend much I did however purchase this during covid it was out of stock so i got it off the floor for a discount. Everything is working just find when it comes to streaming I use a capture card / ps4 I have not downloaded any games for it yet and I doubt I will. This laptop does not hold a charge for long im not sure if it’s because I purchased the displayed version or of others have this issue. Its a quiet laptop so far not much over heating issues. For the price I really have no complaints the only thing Ive upgraded is RAM.

For the price I paid, I believe this computer was a great choice for me. This plays the games that I want to play, while also giving me the option to control the fan of the computer depending on what I'm doing with the computer. During some harder gaming sessions, you can turn up the fan to maintain great performance, and also reduce the fan to save battery in less active times. There are better performance computers out there if you invest more money into it. For the price it's currently listed, it's a gaming computer worthy of the price tag.

I have been a computer engineer for many years. It got to the point where my old computer was not cutting it anymore so I needed a replacement. I really hate to buy a new computer for technology changes so fast the model you get is normally out of date in 18 months. The Nitro-5 addresses this with advanced video and an excellent price. I must say it has been fun loading this machine up with my many applications. I didn't really like Win 10 until I got this machine. I give this computer and OS my thumbs up.
