Fast and efficient laptop, I can finally play games without it freezing up every two seconds, I can use Unity and other 3d programs I like how it cools off and doesn't get hot like my other computers in the past, I love how quickly it loads and it turns on I also like the screen the screen is a pretty decent size. The only problem is that the battery dies fast like I charge it completely and it dies within an hour, I'm pretty sure that's not normal I'm going to try to get a battery replacement and that's the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Able to run most current gen games with high settings! A big bang for your buck if you're starting out in the pc gaming scene with the option of mobility of a laptop. Screen is great but not the best in clarity and color but definitely gets the job done. Overall performance is adequate and the keyboard is subjective. Keys are a bit mushy but are fine. I really enjoy this laptop and would recommend to those who are in the market for an affordable and portable gaming option.

I’m reviewing this from two standpoints. I’m a computer animation student and I needed something that could run and handle the needed programs without much hassle if any.
This does just that as well as running the MMORPGS I put on it. The fans however do kick on quickly when running games/animation but there is a setting setup purely for controlling the coolant and fan speed. It’s definitely a bonus. You can hear the fan but it doesn’t bother me either, it’s apparent at first but you get used to it, or just play music and you won’t hear it.
The battery life says around 7hours and with what I use it for it really doesn’t last much longer than 3-4 hours. I was looking forward to the battery life but it doesn’t bother me, frankly I find the Matt screen makes up for it,its definitely higher quality than my previous laptop what was more equipped for typing essays.
The red LED light, that was a bit harsh to look at, at first but that also is something to easily adjust to. It’s better in dark lit areas. However it does go off after short periods of not having the keys touched. Turning it on is easy enough just tap the space bar out of convenience.
Overall I’m satisfied and lucky enough it was on sale~

I got this laptop to write software, I used a couple of months and it ran really good with the ram and storage it came with. Now my son uses it and he plays fornite and roblox smoothly I am sure you see will have to add another ssd and more ddr4 to run more expensive games, but for what we it for right now it's perfect. My son also uses for home schooling. I got it on sale.

I've only had my laptop for a few days but one BIG flaw I've noticed so far is the battery life. At a full charge it SHOULD last for 8 hours, but that's just not the case for me. Last night I tested it: I fully charged my laptop and then plugged in an external display through the HDMI port to my TV. I had the laptop's display turned off to try and conserve the battery usage, and I watched a movie. The movie was an hour and fifty three minutes. By the time the movie was over my battery was down to 40% with only an hour and thirty five minutes remaining of battery life. I'm not sure what the deal is here but at this rate I've mostly used my laptop while it's plugged in and I've just now started using it in Low Power mode to test that as well. I'm not sure if this is just something I'm doing wrong on my part or if this is a common issue for everyone. Other than the battery life everything else I've been doing on my laptop seems to be working just fine. All the games I've been running on it look great and play with no FPS drops. However, I haven't been running anything too extensive either. Overall, I have yet to decide if I have made a good purchase but so far, so good.

This laptop will play games that technically require more ram than it comes stock with. I have added Ram cards to bump it to 32gb, plus you can add another SSD. I love this computer and i recommend it to anyone who wants to play modern games while not going broke. Easy to upgrade RAM cards and it already has a SSD!!

Have been thinking of getting a new laptop for a while. Looked around and found this which was the specs i wanted and more. Has worked very well at fast. Graphics are solid and computer is fast/smooth at processing multiple task. The last computer i had was about 5 years old and this smokes it! Even tho it is plastic, it looks great. Red back-lit keyboard is nice.

This machine starts up quick and has the power to run most applications and games well. Online games like DOTA run excellent and the WiFi connectivity is great. I use this for all my streaming on the go as well and never have issues. It is very easy to upgrade which I recommend by adding another 8GB to 16GB RAM total.

This laptop does exactly what I need it to do. I have another gaming laptop and it's just so heavy. I like this laptop because it's compact and still packs a punch. There are definitely some improvements that I have made to it, so I'm definitely grateful that we are able to make modifications to it.

Bought this for my son for his birthday. He absolutely loves it. Light weight, fast, graphics are great. The only trouble we have found is the mic, found out using Zoom it doesn’t work well. But luckily he usually uses headphones with a mic so it’s not an issue

I have a PC gaming rig, but I wanted something portable, powerful, and fast enough to play the games I play. Csgo, you can run max settings. Cod warzone, while plugged in, on max settings, experienced zero to very little framerate drop. I would say the only down side is the hard drive size. But, for the quality, components, and design, well worth it.
I would highly recommend buying an external hard drive. I recently picked one up, 1tb, for 49.99. Or unless you plan on playing a few older games, that are maybe 10gb each, you'll be fine. But if you're wanting to download GTA v, plus tomb raider, or even cod warzone, you'll have to pick one or the other.
Overall I would give this laptop a recommendation to anyone. Looking for casual or hard gaming, this laptop will help you. But reminder, external hard drive is a must, if heavy gaming, or a game with CONSTANT and HIGH file updates.
9.5/10

Got this on sale for $679 - a much more reasonable price than $729, if you ask me. I can't say I'd pay $729 for this, given it's an i5 as opposed to an i7.
But, for what I paid, this thing well exceeds my expectations! It's still very powerful with a quad-core i5, 8GB RAM, and an SSD. The GTX 1050 has performed flawlessly for my gaming so far- I've played both heavily-modded Minecraft (with over 126 added mods), and "Slender: The Eight Pages," neither of which have given any hesitation nor crashed.
In terms of the PC itself, I'm very impressed. The keyboard is one of the best I've used on any laptop at this price point (aside from some Lenovos), and looks so cool with the red backlight! The keys have perfect travel, a good tactile response, and a bit of a "curve" for ergonomics. The outlining on the WASD and arrow keys makes for fast, intuitive control. The screen is very nice, as it's an IPS display. With its high resolution and quick refresh rate, it has delivered a great, clear gaming experience. Not to mention watching videos/movies on this is quite enjoyable.
The battery life isn't the best, but you can't really expect good battery life on a notebook this powerful. I wouldn't recommend this for a student if you're bringing it to class (it also has considerable weight), but it's great to have around the house and to take on vacation. It also stood out to me that the AC adapter (power brick), isn't massive. Despite being 135W (19V @ 7.1A), it doesn't take up much bag space and isn't excessively heavy.
Lastly, this laptop doesn't appear to look "childish" -- a gripe I have about some other major name-brand gaming notebooks that have teal accents. To me, it actually has a cool, industrial appearance with the "brushed" plastic lid, "chiseled" (angled) edges, and dark color (black and red) combinations. The red accent around the screen hinge branded "NITRO" is also a cool feature.
The only slight negative complaints I have are:
1 - The screen came with 2 slight "blackish" spots (but minor) near the bottom. This is a physical issue with the screen that would have occurred during manufacturing, not dead pixels/"bright dots." While I don't notice them much in regular use, it's still aggravating to see this at this price point.
2 - The touchpad can be a bit "jumpy." I certainly recommend an external mouse for gaming and frequent everyday use.
3) The right lower side of the keyboard (near the right Ctrl key), flexes a bit, but this isn't much to complain about. Also, the screen assembly does feel a bit "flimsy" (has considerable flex), but doesn't appear like it would break under normal use.
4) No SD card reader - why not?? There's certainly enough room on here for one. Seems like Acer was just being cheap.
With these exceptions, I'd certainly recommend if on sale!

Computer is OK. Good for the price. Very disappointed that the keys don't stay lit. Got the computer so my daughter had something to use at college with roommates, but the back lighting is terrible and you can't change the settings. Needs more RAM. But that's something I will change out myself.

Laptop is good, it's very good looking, fast and easy to set up. One thing I will say is it is pretty bulky. If you're not lugging it around then it's no big deal but if you're putting in a backpack it takes up a lot of room. It does come with a protective sleeve, which is cool and nice of acer.

Looking for a great budget gaming laptop and this happened to be on sale so it was an amazing price. Although I was disappointed to find out that it had some false advertising on it. I'm into video and I do a bit of editing here and there so having a media card reader was something I was looking for. Despite the Website saying it includes an SD card reader, it sadly does not. It's not a deal breaker and would still recommend, however I would appreciate if the advertising and specs were accurate, I would give it 5 stars, but the false advertising brings it down to a 4.

I use this PC for light graphics editing, video editing and streaming (e.g., Zoom to OBS to YouTube), and it's worked well. I added an extra 16GB of RAM to prevent processing issues, but I think the dedicated video card has carried the visual load very well without it. The lighted keyboard is also a nice touch when I don't feel like turning on a desk lamp while working. The speakers aren't very good and the webcam is as bad as most laptops, but I didn't buy this for those features anyway. Also, if your wrists rest on the edge of the laptop while typing (improper form, I know), its stylish angular design will dig into you. I use foam wrist rest pads to handle that. Overall, this is a great video and graphics laptop for the money.

This is a great product and I fell in love with it. The touch pad is a little weird but you get used to it as you use it. It does everything and more and I appreciate how well the graphics are and the speed it works at.
