Bought this to specifically use for CAD software based off of the in-store computer specialist recommendation. Wasn't what I needed so I returned it. I'm sure it's great for gaming, but I'm not a gamer, so I can't judge it accurately. Lesson learned: do your own research.

This laptop is a beast... I game on it... I host karaoke with it... I DJ with it... and I run a merchandise design/print shop with it... extremely happy with my purchase 1 year later... I even dropped it and cracked the screen... spent $75 and replaced the screen myself... this thing still runs like a beast!

My son needed this for school and works really well.

I needed a computer for gaming and video editing. I had to download a driver to get adobe pro to work, but other than that which was easy anyway it's been working really well. The brightness and volume on the arrow keys used with the Fn key are different from other computers I've had, but didn't take long to get used to.

First gaming laptop and so far it hasn't disappointed

I got this to play world of warcraft.works perfectly for that. I also am able to so far play vr games via oculus link with an oculus quest. I haven't tested anything super heavy on graphics vr wise but playing the base vr games like the free spiderman and Google earth work perfectly. Ssd drives are a must for any gamer

I've always liked Acer laptops, and this laptop hasn't disappointed. It's got the build of a nice good ol' fashioned gaming laptop, without feeling too overly bulky. First things first... I had troubles with wifi performance. I was downloading games from Steam and Uplay at around 1mbps which I knew wasn't right. I ran a speedtests from both speedtest.net and fast.com and speeds were very very inconsistent during the test, generally ranging from 20-60mbps, with the test usually settling on rating the connection at about 15-20mbps. I tested right after on another laptop and both tests pegged at 200mbps. I started by disabling Acer Network Optimizer (which I now can't find where to reinstall), and disabling the preinstalled Norton protection, neither of which helped. Researching the chipset online (Intel 9560 160Mhz) turned up others having similar issues. I ended up going to the advanced adapter settings and changing the "Preferred Band" to "Prefer 5Ghz band" and BOOM, wifi performance improved dramatically. Ultimately, I don't know if it's just my environment, or the chipset, or some combination where it just does not work well on 2.4ghz. If you plan to use this primarily on 2.4ghz networks, maybe do some more research on this chipset first. My other minor complaint is the keyboard, namely the spacebar. Maybe there's just a problem with my keyboard, or maybe it's a design flaw, but sometimes when I go to press the spacebar, it sticks like there is food stuck under it (but there's not). Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning for posterity. I was able to play Final Fantasy XV for about one hour or so on battery. Obviously you're not going to be doing most of your gaming on battery anyway. The battery for everyday use is probably fine, but also probably nothing earth shattering. Now, if you're into benchmarks, this laptop performed very well, and now stands as the best general performing computer in my arsenal (I used all freely available benchmark tests): PassMark PerformanceTest 9.0 CPU: 9306 2d: 820 3d: 6496 memory: 2090 disk: 7807 3DMark Time Spy Graphics: 3503 CPU: 3662 Overall: 3525 3DMark Night Raid Graphics: 22730 CPU: 6648 Overall: 22730 And then the benefit of gaming laptops also means upgrade-ability! The bottom comes off easily, and reveals 1 free RAM slot, 1 free M.2 slot, and of course the HDD, battery and everything else easily accessible. So you can easily upgrade the HDD to another SSD, or add another SSD to the 2nd M.2 slot, or bump the RAM to 16gb (or more?). Cooling was never an issue and this laptop provides plenty of airflow to the components to keep at a reasonable temp.
