Purchased this gaming laptop for my son. Graphics are amazing and never freezes up! Overall very happy with this purchase!

I have been using this laptop for over a year and edited over 100 videos on it. Still going strong and I am writing this review on it right now! Video editing is tough and the combo of SSD and HDD is perfect as the OS and Apps can run on the SSD while the finished videos can be dropped on the HDD. I use this PC as a remote recorder doing multi-camera shoots on location as well! It has seen some very hard use in the last year and I am impressed!

The good The Acer Nitro 5 is an understated gaming laptop that's well configured for the money. You can easily add more memory and storage. It has an ample port assortment, including USB 3.1 Type-C. The bad The laptop's build quality isn't the best, and some might be disappointed by the display's color performance. The bottom line Pure and simple, the Acer Nitro 5 is just a good deal with excellent mobile gaming performance for its wallet-friendly price.

I recently purchased this laptop and was happy with how it performed. The games I tested were gta v, sims 4 all expansions and watch dogs 2. All games performed perfectly except watch dogs 2 which said I needed more ram to play. Regular tasks like YouTube and web browsing worked quickly. Overall a solid machine

At this price, it will do 90+ FPS-avg (99)fps at 9 out 10 quality setting in game- It has not let me down, especially in the MMO raids,( 40 man ) when lag or slow frame rate= deaths to players and getting kicked from groups. I get 70-90+ FPS in these . I would highly recommend this laptop to others and never think twice. I returned one with the Ryzen chipset due to driver issues and a 60 FPS. the GTX1650 and the SSD boot , gets it done.it loads windows desktop -instant almost - just seconds - very important performance feature for me. It can handle video editing and all the other work type tasks I have thrown at it. For me anyway :) I have been in the IT field for 15 years+ . I can also verify the wireless card , on the high speed side of router, the x.5 dual band- it will do the max for me 160+down- it is limited only by my cable service. The only down rating I can give this device, it gets loud after several hours of gaming, the cooling fans do their job, and do it well, but the noise takes some getting use to. it is equipped with software to set the speeds, but I feel better safe than sorry - let them run !! Wireless headset and go. It does come with a type-c usb port,built in, kind of cool. The screen picture quality lacks nothing. Acer support is lacking , but in my humble opinion , it always has. probably will not need it anyways for quite some time. I did 2 resets, as I upgraded the windows version to windows pro, for the extra networking software. I only mention this, to say, it worked great, it did not require it, but I did them anyway, just to test, before i did load all my software and settings, again, it worked seamless. Hope this helps someone, I never do this, unless, I am highly satisfied or impressed with a product. I have to also say, The JC Best Buy staff, helped me as I say,-Big Time.. I have zero patience for errors, and or waiting for a device, as in order >ship>wait . They made sure , I did not have to suffer either !!!!!!!

This is an awesome laptop for beginner gamers. It’s has a good processor, great graphics card and runs really efficiently.

got this almost a year ago. i never once had a problem with it at all. the graphics card 1650 it has worked for me . i got this for pretty cheap with the student deal . but last month i spilled milk on the keys and now its broken . my bad, but i wanted something that would handle VR better even though you could run VR on this ive heard. i rather not. this is a perfect laptop for someone that is a casual gamer . it should get even cheaper too

This laptop is awesome. Have played many games on it with no lag. The speed of this computer is awesome.

I bought this for my son, who wanted a gaming laptop. But I really didn't know what to look for. So after reading through the reviews here and doing a little research, I decided on this laptop. Not wanting to spend a ton of money, this seemed like it was going to give me the most bang for my buck. And so far my son has had no complaints. It runs smoothly with the games he's been playing, whereas his old laptop struggled. He loves it!

I am a teacher and had to begin virtual teaching. My previous laptop is more than 8 years old, and very slow. This computer offers the memory and speed I need to do my job effectively. It was a quick and easy set up, which was great for me, as I am not a technology guru at all. I also purchased an external cd/DVD drive/burner. The combination of the laptop and burner made it possible for me to again play video games that I thought obsolete. Yay!

The battery life is amazing. I actually easily upgraded the memory and this thing is a beast for GIS.

It's super fast and easy to transport..has more memory than I'll ever need which gives me room to be creative.

Easy to setup. Plays all of today’s games no problems and easily configured for parental control.

The computer runs really good compared to other laptops I have tried but I do suggest bumping it up to 16gb of ram if you’re looking to multitask while you game and they made very straight forward for upgrade ability. my only real complaint that I have is that the computer gets scorching hot if you play demanding games so I would suggest getting a cooling pad so you don’t damage any of the internal hardware.
