Too fragile and the battery is god awful only really 2hrs of screen time if you're streaming. otherwise, love this laptop for league works really well be mindful that for other games though like Fortnite or Apex there is a bit of lag. League runs the smoothest and as for sound quality, it's really good. Keep in mind if you have back problems do not carry this laptop publicly it will catch up and you'll always need to be near a charging station.

Being a laptop, this will probably not be for those who are picky about there computer specifications. However, with expandable storage and upgradable RAM, this is probably the best gaming laptop that you can currently buy. I found myself being able to both stream and record AAA titles with ease, though the fans would kick on with it being a laptop. And on the topic of the fans, nitrosense… what a blessing. Don’t know what that is? Go look into it, it’s actually pretty nifty.

Bought this because I haven’t been able to play fortnite since the whole Apple debacle happened. I was hoping to get something with Ryzen but this performs pretty good. Fortnite works good, there’s minor lag, but not much. Quick start up, the cool boost function is great while I’m gaming. No issues with it yet! Love that I can upgrade the storage and ram. Happy with my purchase. Haven’t had a computer in years. For the sale price, I’d say it was a steal!

Been using this for audio mixing, some gaming (GTA, asseto Corsa), and regular streaming. The processing is superb. I've loaded mixing sessions on this that bogged down my previous computer that, to be fair, had an older generation i5. The control over the fans is a clutch feature. At max RPM on both fans the laptop can get noisy, but for me it's manageable. The display isn't the brightest, but the contrast between lights and darks make up for it. The nvidia graphics card handles everything I've thrown at it with ease and the 1900x1080 provides plenty of real estate for whatever you need to see. The speakers are crappy and can get loud, but you'll want to take advantage of the DTS audio processing which does wonders with small Bluetooth speakers. The only cons I've encountered so far was a glitch with the keyboard after prolonged gaming, but that can be rectified with a restart. Other than that, the build quality feels toy like but nothing has broken...yet.

I bought this laptop when my ancient (in computer years) desktop starting giving up the ghost and I am really happy with my purchase. It has a nice big screen, is quick, has decent (but easily upgradable) storage, and runs the games I play a lot better than my desktop ever did. The fan does get loud at times but that's my only complaint.

Ive had it for roughly two years and its great for work, school, and casual gaming. If you’re looking for a laptop that can tun the most popular games like Warzone, Fortnite, elden ring, ect id recommend getting something a bit better. This is perfect for valorant, indie games, and school work. Extremely fast

So far so good. I don't actually use it for gaming. I only use it for 3-D modeling and other routine tasks such as email and surfing. One reason I chose this computer was for the ability to upgrade the RAM if I needed to do so. However, I've had good performance and see no reason to upgrade. I've had no major issues. There was a couple of times during the first couple of weeks where the computer turned off for no reason in the middle of an activity. However, that has not happened again in a long time. My only two complaints are honestly knit-picky ones. First, I wish the keypad would stay lit a little bit longer than 30 secs. And secondly, the delete key seems to be in an odd location. It doesn't stand out like on most keyboards, but rather blends into the background. I've never had any trouble finding the delete key on any other keyboard I've ever owned. Otherwise, I've enjoyed this computer so far and would recommend it to others.

great laptop for the price. The laptop came with a 2.5inch sata adaptor to add an HHD or an SSD and a some acer swag. Was able to play CS:GO smoothly and it seems to run most newer games on high or max settings. The system will run a lot quicker when plugged in and roughly has a 2 hour battery life depending on what you are doing. Personally I upgraded to 16gb of RAM and a 1tb SSD and I am very happy with it. The only criticisms I have is that the display is capped out at 60hz refresh rate without a way to use NVIDIA control panel to overclock the refresh rate, also you cannot edit the CAS latency of the RAM you install to its max due to the BIOS being locked.

I have owned this laptop for a few years now and it is everything you will need. Besides some cosmetic issues, I’ll include in the photo, this laptop was built perfect. No issues at all with performance. The material on the actual keyboard are of the laptop will chip and fade over time due to nothing at all. I have never dropped this laptop but it still has marks from where the top half (screen area) meets the key board. You can see the outline and the screen gets the same marking over time. Again these are simply cosmetic and actual performance is what is important.

Excellent laptop choice, I ended up returning the 15 inch variant with a 1650 to upgrade to this model for 2 inches of size and double storage capacity as well as the 1650ti. This is a very capable machine for gaming and always felt pretty cool. Everything else is similar to the 15 inch model, the keyboard is good, although the Nitro button is a little weird. Screen is alright, touchpad is usable, overall use is pretty great. The larger size makes it a little more bulky to carry around but still very portable. The outer shell has a gamer aesthetic and does feel cheapish and plasticy with a lot of keyboard flex. Overall when it's on sale I'd still recommend it, it's a great laptop.

The best laptop I have own. I upgraded the ram to 16gb and added another ssd drive. Destiny 2 on high settings I was averaging 90 to 105 fps. I gamed on it for few hours straight and it never got over 80 degrees. Now the fans do be somewhat loud but doesnt alter the sound experience in any way. The laptop speakers are decently loud as well. If you can afford it get this model, you will not be disappointed.

3 stars: average of 4-star and 2-star (tale of two Nitro 5s) Really like this laptop’s speed and performance. Coming from a Lenovo Ideapad 330 15IKB which has, after less than 3 years, started running very slowly (even after a reset) and doesn’t do well with Zoom meetings via WiFi. Can’t seem to find someone trustworthy to properly and fully install an SSD or Optane Memory if possible, so opted to get a new laptop. Not a gamer, but definitely a multitasker--one of those people who has 20 windows open at the same time for browsing (doing research) and word processing (lots of typing), all while streaming video. Even with the one 8G RAM that comes with this device, I didn’t notice any slowdown. (We did eventually add another 16G of RAM.) The speaker sound is “almost loud enough” at 100%. (My older Lenovo Ideapad 330 has much louder speakers.) I use headphones when speaker volume doesn’t cut it. Good enough in a very quiet room with no fans or background sounds. Love all the ports (wish it had a SD card slot), especially the Ethernet, 3 USB-As, and a USB-C which syncs and charges. It’s hefty, sturdy, heavy-duty even which is good for all the moving around it experiences. It amazes me that so many even more expensive laptops give so much less: no RJ-45, no number pad, less ports, smaller screens, less storage, etc., all for $400 more. So why “50/50”? We bought 2 of these laptops with vastly differing results: one’s a keeper, one’s gone back to the store. 4-star The first one we purchased in October 2020, mfg’d 8/13/2020, works close to perfectly. Speed, hardware, WiFi (really purchased the computer for better connection via WiFi for managing Zoom meetings), just grand. Besides the surprising impossibility of keeping the laptop clean of smudges and fingerprints (we’ve always had silver-colored laptops previously and never saw any smudges or fingerprints), only just-loud-enough speakers, and the measly 512GB storage, pretty nice experience thus far. 2-star So we bought a second one, which we call Nitro II, was purchased Jan 2021, mfgd 11/19/2020. Not so good. Speed and performance are great, but typing on this one is sheer torture. The key push is stiff and, many times, keystrokes are felt but not registered on screen which equals lots of missed characters and retyping. Had some trouble with the track pad freezing up and not registering taps. That seems to have gone away at the moment, but Acer Customer Service says “it’s a hardware issue” and the device should be returned or repaired. Also, started having random black screen flashes while using Nitro II. So 50/50. I will try another gaming laptop, HP Pavilion 16.1, as a replacement for Nitro II and see how that goes, although the last HP Pavilion we bought was a desktop PC that turned out to be a lemon and had to back to the store. (That was years ago, so I’m trying not to hold a grudge.) If the HP turns out to be a flop, we’ll return to Nitro 5 17.3 and give it another go. It checks the most boxes for us.

THE ACER NITRO 5 IS A STANDARD LOOKING LAPTOP AT FIRST GLANCE. HOWEVER, WHEN YOU FIRE UP THE FIRST GAME YOU WILL QUICKLY NOTICE THAT THIS MACHINE IS A BEAST AND CAN HANDLE WHATEVER YOUR THROW AT IT. I HAVE RUN ASSASSINS CREED VALHALLA AND CALL OF DUTY COLD WAR AND MODERN WARFARE ON IT AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU UPGRADE THE RAM AND STORAGE BUT THIS LAPTOP IS FLAWLESS FOR THE PRICE.

So I've used this laptop for about a month or so now and its wonderful. It's capable of handling a decent amount of today's games but you do have to run them a little lower in quality which I don't mind that much if I can take it on the go. The quality of the build is great for the price and was even able to upgrade RAM within a few minutes! After that I noticed a small improvement in overall performance. The fan layout is nice and yes it gets loud quick when gaming and does get a bit warm so keep that in mind as well. Overall customer service was great and love the laptop!

Great gaming laptop that wont break the bank. Got this laptop 2 years ago and its still running strong. Only bad thing i can say is the battery life isnt great but thats to be expected since its a gaming laptop. Stock parts can run high in game but will start to stutter if you do more. Recently upgraded to 1tb ssd and 32 gb ram and its a gaming beast now. I run ultra settings and record gameplay at the same time and it runs smooth as butter. Highly recommend

I got this for my daughters 15th birthday. She absolutely loved it! she plays so many games with her boyfriend, shes so happy everything runs smoothly. She told me the battery life isn't the best but the computer itself is perfect for her. She loves the size of the screen and the keyboard accents, Everything on this laptop is great for PC gamers, it's a little expensive but definitely worth it!

This computer is faster than any laptop I have had thus far. This is good since I am using it for my Sorority business & church work. It has a nice size to it. The purchase price was good. I am glad I didn't pass it up. My husband likes it as well. I have been wondering if I can change the keypad color though.
