Customers praise the Nitro 5's speed and performance, large screen size, and affordability. Positive feedback also highlights its graphics capabilities, ease of use, and backlit keyboard. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and that the laptop can get warm and the fans may become noisy during intensive use. Concerns about occasional lag were also mentioned.

It turns on in seconds. Has a great program to turn the fans on hot before it gets hot. Helps to not overheat. Great FPS in game. Theres a space inside to add an extra harddrive. Great if you want to expand later. I was shocked how well it works with only 8gb of memory.

Great gamer laptop. Nice screen, good keyboard, easy to upgrade. It comes with screws and a cable for an extra internal drive. Good balance between performance and cost. The 17.3 inch screen is much easier on the eyes than the 13.3 or 14 inch ones.

All the specs are correct on the site beside the backlight being zoned RGB. Has a fast i5-10300H CPU and a new GTX 1650 TI. For a budget laptop it can play any game on the market and is a worthy upgrade if you are coming from an Acer Nitro 5 i5-7300 1050Ti. The machine runs pretty cool with its redesigned thermal design. This is by far the best feature of the machine. One on the left and one on the right with 4 exit points for the exhaust. The 17 inch screen is 60hz and performs well for what it is. I didn't see any ghosting or lag. There is some flex in the keyboard and touch pad area which feels cheap. Pretty good machine and will be putting it through the ringer in the coming days. [email protected] Remember, its not RGB.

Bought this more for school, but has enough horsepower to game on if I so choose. The screen is nice and large for a laptop which is the big reason I picked it over the 15-inch version. The only thing extra I did to it was upgraded the ram to 16gb, which was only about 30 bucks, and very simple to do. The headway for upgrades on it is nice and the Laptop has good internals for cooling and prolonged use. It's got quality hardware for the price range if you are looking to get a gaming laptop for under a thousand dollars.

This was a pleasant surprise for an entry level gaming laptop. My kid loves it and has been using it now for several years. Well worth the cost and there are no complaints in gaming.

I've only had it for a couple weeks, but it seems like a solid machine. If you're a heavy gamer you'll probably want a better GPU, but this one is fine for me. I'm still getting used to the changed position of some keys on the right side of the top row. Delete and Insert are on the same key, but despite appearances, the default is Delete (fortunately!) Best Buy says it's 4.85 lbs but Acer says it's 5.95 lbs, I'm not sure which is right. I don't get anything near 8 hours from the battery, I don't know how they get that. That's all minor though -- overall I'm happy. I'm knocking off one star because it runs warm even when I'm just browsing the web, and pretty hot when gaming, even with Cool Boost.

I actually started looking at gaming laptops because of the graphics and processors. We do a lot of watching Netflix, Hulu and such on a laptop. We watch a lot of how to videos also. Altho, the only real shooter game I enjoy playing is Duke Nukem..........Hail to the king baby!. I'm showing my age, I started playing when Duke wasnt 3D LOL Anyways, it runs the game beautifully. I know newer games are more intense, but this lower-end gaming computer is great for watching stuff over an internet connection. I play Roblox with my granddaughters and it runs smoothly everytime. Great computer, worth so much than only using it for gaming.

I use this mostly to play WOW and some easy Big Fish games. For clarification I added 8 more gigs to make this a 16 GB laptop. It plays WOW well, looks pretty and lasts a bit longer then most laptops. My only complaint is that sometimes the key I’m pressing stops working. Usually it’s the “W” when I’m trying to run somewhere. I’ll press it using the same consistent pressure and it doesn’t recognize it the whole time I’m pressing it. It’s a minor inconvenience in an otherwise great product though, so I have just started using the mouse more then the keyboard for movement, lol. I highly recommend this laptop.

Super nice laptop for my type of gaming (RPG, Strategy, etc.) and the cost is more than reasonable. I wasn't thrilled with the Windows10 "let me help you" setup philosophy. It took three-times as long as it should have to just set up my email because it assumed my domain (incoming/outgoing servers) rather than just letting me set my account up manually! I'm really pleased with the hardware though. I do wish there was a volume control on the keyboard (only has a mute -F8- key), but that's a minor inconvenience...

This is a super fast, light weight, easy to use computer. I bought this to run certain high definition and large programs that would be difficult to do on other computers. This opens up those programs faster and they run without lagging. I'm very happy with my purchase of this computer. I like the lit up keyboard as well, I only wish it would stay on the whole time, instead of when I press a button, because I cannot always see where I am pressing. I have not used this computer for anything other than large programs so I cannot say much else, but for my purpose, this is a perfect computer.

This is a great computer I need to get before I when to college. As a person who enjoys playing game on my desktop, I thought it would be hard to swap between my higher end specs of my tower. But to my surprise, it was able to hold up fairly well against my library. The one downside is that it does only start out with 8GB of RAM and only 1/2 a TB of SSD storage. But it does come with a extra storage slot and the manufacturer put in the needed cables and screw to install it safely. The only problem is opening it up, but a quick google search helped me get it opened without any damage. Great product. Plenty of flexibility for upgrades. 8/10 base product. 8.5-9/10 if want to upgrade would recommend if you want to upgrade and can afford the needed parts.

This is one excellent machine. I got it as a low budget gaming computer for World of Warcraft and Destiny 2. I wanted some update space and went with the 512 GB SSD. So far no problems with overheating. Fan noise isn’t an issue and video card holds up just fine. Just press the Nitro (N) button and you can see all the info from keyboard, fan speed, temperature and so forth. Weight is so much lighter than my wife’s Alienware pc from 2018. Screen size is awesome and I am a very happy gamer so far with this set up and the price.

I purchased this laptop for 3D graphic design vs gaming. It does not disappoint! The full HD resolution and graphics card is huge as it can handle the intricate details I needed without bogging down the system. The screen size was another reason I got this laptop. One may not think an extra 2 inches is that big of a deal, but trust me, it makes a difference. Even watching YouTube videos is a big improvement. If you're looking for a powerful, yet affordable laptop for your gaming or graphics needs, Acer's Nitro 5 is well worth the investment.

After buying a Toshiba laptop in 2013 and spending too much money, it began falling apart. Felt I was forced to replace it and my daughter selected the Nitro 5 for me. This time was more conservative on the price and have not for a moment regretted this purchase. I am not a gamer but do appreciate the backlit keyboard, the smooth operation, and even some of the games offered. Couldn't be happier and now I'm on this laptop every day!! One of the best purchases I have ever made.

I am so far happy with this laptop, the speed is fire and the over all specs are superb and I even get to learn to play valorant and minecraft without a hitch. All my daughter’s school stuff are in place that means she never experienced lagging while in online class. Perfect! I almost didn’t want to buy this for a macbook but since we are all slightly gamers we all agreed to choose this over a macbook. I definitely recommend this laptop for a family of three.
